- This week I decided to show all of you some of the things I've done with my LC500 that has made my life a little more convenient. Some will disagree with the choices I've made, but ultimately, the majority of these things have made things either more convenient or less annoying with the daily livability of the Lexus LC500. I see you have the sport seats with the alcantara inserts. Any regret not going with the all leather seats? How does the alcantara hold up?
No regrets whatsoever. So far, the alcantara is holding up well. I also have a specific cleaner for it in case...
Hi Rich, I'm interested in running a dashcam off my mirror like you did. I was wondering if the power that you are running your cobra off of the mirror is constant power or key on power? If its constant power, have you ever had any problems with the cobra draining the car battery? I was also wondering if you bought a separate wire that you could use to wire it into your mirror or did you modify the wire that came with your cobra? And lastly, if you have any pics or vids of what you ended up tapping into on your mirror do you have any links or anything to help me out for wiring it into my mirror? I don't like the idea of running wires around the interior of my LC so as you did, I think tapping into the power of the mirror would work better, and definitely look better. Thanks for any info you can provide and keep the good videos coming.

1) it's not constant power - the Cobra turns off when I turn off the ignition. But I still unplug it regardless just in case.
2) I bought the wire without any modifications
3) unfortunately I don't have pics or vids of the work I did, BUT I did use the link below to install mine. Should suffice in helping you out installing yours.

Thanks Rich. That helps a lot. The link has others that have installed different pieces of equipment to include some that used the constant power wire too (for parking monitoring). I will have to do some more research on which camera now as the new Sony starvis 2 sensors are starting to come out in the dashcams. Thanks again.@@RichWithCars

Pinstripe is 3M wrap in satin blue.
Does the proclip mount do any pinch or damage to where it mounts on the vehicle?
No it doesn't pinch. It literally just goes into the crevice of where the leather meets the trimming. This is why I like it so much, it doesn't damage the leather.

can you show the mirror tap point for radar detector? is that neck of mirror or from big black cover in winshield?
The neck from the mirror is just a cover that you need to remove. Once you remove the neck, you'll be able to see behind the mirror the tap area. You'll also need to know which holes to tap. I used this forum post:

Can you tell us more details about installing dash cam thru the mirror? We need a pins to usb converter?
No pins to USB converter. Phone plug style connector to pins. I used the following post as a helper to install mine:

What’s good Brotha .. this thang is sick . Rarely do non stock rims look proper for this car and great . These are the ones tho ! Btw where do u get the body kit ? Also most importantly did u put spacers oN and also what kind of suspension was replaced to sit this way ( coil overs )? How much was /is the divide that can record for your self and accidents

At the time when I got the dashcam/radar detector it was $450
How much camera storage does the dash cam store? Looks great.
It all depends on the SD card plugged into the device. But it comes with a 16gb card, and it can go up to 32gb. Not the best but good enough....

Did you add a CarPlay wireless adapter?
I didn't because I don't have an IPhone. I might retrofit the Apple Carplay, if I decide to make the switch to Apple later this year

Hey, not sure what you mean. I didn't purchase the wrap - my installer did. So really depends where you're located. If you're in Central FL, then I can refer you to my wrap installer. 👍
Recommend getting the credit card key. Keep in your wallet and is one less thing you have to carry. Dealer charged me about 250 dollars. Worth it. All other options you mentions the beeps are a most for both the belt and the reverse. Thank you for the video.
The credit card key is definitely cool. Dunno if I could justify $250 tho. And also curious to know how thin the card is....I have a card holder as a wallet (not the typical large one)....
@@RichWithCars it’s about 4mil less taller than a FL ID and about 3 cards in thickness. It makes your Wallet very practical. All in one place. Highly recommend it.

No Apple car play ?on lc500?
Yes there is. On the older models (2019 and 2018) - owners would have to go to the dealer and retrofit the infotainment with Apple Carplay. Android Auto is only available as of 2021 model year in the North American market. Both are wired and not wireless....
What's a radar detector and why do you need it?
Detects radar and laser guns. Need it in case, even though I don't speed often.
The cruise control infuriates me, it constantly slows to match the car in front. Can it be disabled to work in basic mode?
Yeah it is annoying. When you say basic mode, are you referring to non-adaptive cruise control? If so, then I believe you can't
@@RichWithCars yes much prefer non adaptive, my UX250h constantly slows down and sits way too far back from the car in front..
@tomf4547 yeah my gf had the UX as well and had the same issue. You can still adjust the distance at which it follows behind.

Im sorry guys but I'm waiting for lexus to bring back the wood veneer and elegant wooden steering wheel. I hate a leather steering wheel for it looks cheap and it stains easy. Plastic everywhere with high-tech screens will eventually be outdated. I think you can never go wrong with raw elements like metals and woods that never goes out of style.
If this LC500 had the elegant woods from the classic sc430 and a hard top too... It would be a hit with me.
Its really dangerous to add too much tech to people who just want to drive a car without worring if the race model mechanical changes... too much stuff to eventually stop working. Give me the body and a beautiful wood interior, with analog speedometer and im good.
Everyone has their own opinions. Not sure about having wood veneer on the interior, but curious to see it tho!

Get your own LC and what you want. It’s his car.
Two things:
1. How about something to stop stuff falling between the driver seat and the console. My GSF had one.
2. Which color wires did you mirror tap?
1) I've never had an issue where things fall in between the seat and center console. So that's why I haven't mentioned it.

WHY nobody talking about the tuning radius of the lexus LC500
From my perspective, with the performance pack, turning radius is amazing. But that's because the performance pack has both rear wheel steer and variable steering ratios
