Lexus LC500 Review. One AMAZING thing we discovered.

- It’s hard to believe the Lexus LC500 is almost a decade-old design. With looks based on the stunning LF-LC concept and available with a punchy 5.0-litre V8, it remains one of the most underrated new cars available. Its combination of fiery performance, stunning design and £90k list price put it in the realms of entry-level supercars. But unlike some high performance alternatives, there’s no faff with the LC.
Its smooth 10-speed automatic gearbox make it a better cruiser than many V8 brutes, and that sumptuous interior is a seriously nice place to be. What’s more, it’s even affordable to run as Howard explains in this consumer review of the LC500.

This car is not about numbers, but about comfort, beauty, and connection. One of my dream cars, only wish it becomes affordable shortly, but it's extremely unlike with how beautiful it is.
A stunning car. And it still looks more up to date now, than most brand new models do.
If Lexus are going to replace it, they've got one hell of a job to beat this piece of _automotive art._

Had the 2021 performance pack for a couple years. No buyers remorse, never tired of driving it. It’s my favorite car in my stable
You're closing the center storage compartment wrong, which is why you had trouble with it. When it's open, just push the button and it'll gently glide closed. You were forcing it.

I love mine. I've had a performance pack coupe for about 4 months and I really think this will be a major classic one day.
only issue with it was that its too slow for its looks and the sound system was subpar
@@ro1857 Unless you are looking to win drag races, there is more than enough power for things to get very illegal, quickly. The Mark Levinson audio is excellent too.

I've been leasing my LC for the last two years. By the way, I smoked a guy in a Golf R in a straight up race! Absolutely enjoy the car. It handles just as good as my 99' M3. Suspension is splendid. Speed is rude and nasty.
Saw one at my Lexus dealership recently. More beautiful in person! Quite roomy, too. And it will last for many years, even as a daily. The reasonable, thinking man's sports car.

Almost 200k new in Australia sadly. I agree it has the best interior though. I haven't seen anything even remotely close to this quality and design short of twice the price. I'll have to make do an RC instead sadly as i couldn't justify spending that much on just a car even if i had it spare lol.
Cars are so expensive in Australia even high mileage used cars. Anything that's remotely desirable
$200k plus on road costs in Australia and there are shamefully few on the road, which is a damn shame for such a great car.
Lexus can make boring cars to look at. Again Lexus can make masterpieces of art on wheels.

I recently purchased the 2023 coupe with the dynamic handling package. It’s my favorite car to date! (Looks gorgeous) I’ve had my share of euro sports and American muscle cars. This car has an amazing blend of both and by far more reliable!
I would love one as a weekend car .... but alas cannot afford one nor have anyone to store it during the weekend.

I have one of these albeit the V6 3.5ltr Hybrid varient. Love it to bits and it is stunning looking from every angle. How you got 39mpg out of it I'll never know, but Miss Daisy springs to mind espesially from cold. Have to ask what colour was it? Either your colour balance is totally shot or it was some sort of weird red/orange. Noot a patch on the beautiful Sonic Red.

0-60 for the coupe is actually 4.4 seconds, so not too shabby!
it feels faster than it actually is. i've had an m6, a hellcat, and now an LC, but this is sooooo much better and sofa king smooth to drive.
owned one for almost 2 years, either my timing gear was faulty or this is a 4.2 sec 0-60 car, in the end that number was basically meaningless, I commuted in this and loved every second of it, 28 MPG combined!
Lexus play down the performance. If you pre-load the revs against the brakes on good tarmac with warm tyres, 4.1 every time. Put a set of Michelins on 10mm wider than standard, 4 dead.

When tired of my SC430, which I’ve got ways to go before that happens… the LC500 will be next. Wicked styling cues that seem to stand the test of time and reliable. It’s a no brainer.
Another example of other side of the pond doing things right. There is a guy in the cowboy land categorically stating no one will buys this car. Good review.

You have to run it it Sport+. Nothing else to say, but you have to run it in Sport+.

170mph in something in the UK we are only allowed 70mph in for £90k :(
However the looks alone would compensate for that, so i would want to drive slower so that people could look at it :)
I get 37 mpg on my ten year old Lexus 450h f sport with spirted driving.
Being a long legged, comfy GT, why isn't the review running across the continent putting the car into the context of what is was made for? Take it to Naples and back, then tell us what it's like.
39 MPG? That is extremely hard to believe when the LC500h is rated at 34 MPG , highway. I've seen other reviews where the driver of an LC500 achieved 30 MPG on the highway but as low as 6 MPG in the city when driving aggressively.
I have had between 39-41 mpg on the motorway with mine. The reviewers as you mentioned spend barely a few hours with them, I've had mine for over two years.

@@Develop4Media Maybe if you average 45 miles per hour, you can get high mileage but at normal highway speeds at 70 MPH. My 2.5 liter Mazda 3 may be able to achieve 40 MPG but that's a 3200 lb car with a 4 cylinder engine.
US gallon and british gallon are different. Terrible measurement system
@@TransformHypnosis Ah ha! I didn't realize that. "The Imperial gallon is defined as 4.546.09 litres whereas US gallon is less at 3.78541litres To add to the confusion, one Canadian gallon is about 4 5 litres."

Well the designers need a few more design hours or merely some feedback from the LC500 customer base to core t the following cabin deficiencies:
- two genuine cup-holders;
- hard buttons for the seat and climate temperature controls, not the touchscreen controls;
- a storage compartment that is accessible to both passenger and driver;
- fold-down back seats for greater utility;
- a hatchback instead of a small trunk opening (please see the 2024 Mercedes AMG GT and CLE aseries);
- more and better cabin ambient t lighting (See the Mercedes line of vehicles);
- massage seating and more seat control options;
- storage space for sunglasses like the old GX460 used to have.
- a wee larger tough display;
- fully intergrated voice command over every cable and motor function (Come on, man this is 2024)!

FYI the engine is not old school as it has ported injection and ! And direct injection so the intake valves with never crud up with carbon and ruins most engines ! Not high strung like a turbo charged engine soooo will last a very long time. 16 injectors ❤

I own one. While it is comfortable and plenty fast on highway and straight line, it really doesn’t instill confidence on a curvy road. Like not at all. Even not in sport mode. Wheels start to slip. Sorry. It is a barge. Beautiful barge

This is nice, but NOTHING beats the original 1989 Lexus LS400. Still a head turner 33+ years later.

Hold up man lol did this guy just said that design for the lexus lc500 is 10 yrs old. Huh, what is he talking about correction this car came out in 2016 and it's 2022. So how can the design be 10 years old. If you are going to do a review please give facts and not hyperboles. Especially when it comes to this vehicle. It's a lexus. This car is not even 10 years old so how can the design be. Correction it's 6 years old.
Came out in 2017 as a 2018 model year car.
The original design was penned in 2012, debuted at Detroit motor show 2013. Was just a prototype. Production started at Motomachi in 2016. First sold late 2017.

Similar in spirit to the Jaguar XK... V8, RWD, with rear seats for your extra luggage... the Jaguar still wins on exterior looks, but this car wins on the interior.
Not a supersports car, its a grand tourer. Its lovely looking thing although I've seen it in better colours.

It's so ugly though... and slow for a sports car, big, impractical, kind of boring to drive because the suspension is like a Mercedes S class, the tech is horrible, probably the least reliable car Lexus makes... Car reviewers hype this thing up so much even though its list of faults is so long. I feel like people really want it to be an LFA, but it's not an LFA.
I have this beautiful piece of art for two years, absolutely love it. It is not a hype. You need to drive it in order to feel the soul of it. Numbers don't justify how wonderful this car is. I appreciate my purchase of this beauty every day.
