I have been making sausage gravy for 35 years and this is a good recipe. I use pork sausage and don't season as much due to the additional seasoning in the pork sausage. I also add the butter and flour to the pan just before the sausage is finished cooking. This allows the flour to cook along with the sausage, then when you add your milk the gravy never clots up.
I’m a South Carolina native that now lives in California. I came across this vid and decided to give it a try. It took me back to the South🥹Thank you for this!
As I was watching this I couldn't stop thinking......"Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit." This is PERFECT just like my mom used to make. You know EXACTLY how to make the best flaky biscuits, all the right rules.

I'm trying to make this for my coworkers on Monday morning. Construction workers build a wind turbine site in California gonna be happy. Thank you for using turkey it's the TRUTH!!!
I just made your biscuit recipe yesterday for breakfast and they’re SO BOMB!! My family said that they were the BEST biscuits they’ve ever had and devoured them!! This recipe is a keeper! Thanks so much for sharing 💜🙌🏾
I made this one time and it came out soooooo good. Then I went back to find this video and couldn’t. Luckily, I just found it today. Oh happy day. Great recipe for sausage, biscuits and gravy
Thank you for using Turkey! My step mom is a black woman and black women have higher blood pressure and should limit the amount of meat (specifically red and any fatty meat) and Turkey is the best option! So excited to make this with her!
I have never he had good luck with homemade biscuits so I get the Grands jumbos. My mom used to whip a batch out like it was nothing. Yours looked amazing. Thanks so much for this vid.
I could not make biscuits to save my soul until I found the 2 ingredient biscuit recipe! 2 c self rising flour, 1 cup heavy cream. Mix, plop out on floured surface, fold a few times. 425 for 10 or 15 minutes. I can finally make biscuits LOL
I just found your channel, and girl, you took me back to watching my sweet Mama making sausage gravy and biscuits! I always say “drippings need to be in a food group all its own” yes, I said it 😁 Now; where is my Grandmas cast iron skillet 😊
Hi from Ireland👋 I gave this a go today. My biscuits turned out a bit too well done but that was my bad cos I wasn’t paying attention at the 10 min mark, they weren’t burnt just a bit crispy. The gravy was awesome and really works with the biscuits. I’ve a feeling it would work with plain boiled potatoes or potato bread too so I’m going to try that for dinner tomorrow😬 Biscuits are very similar to what we would call “scones” over here and gravy is more like a white sauce so in Ireland it’d probably be called “savoury scones with sausage sauce”😂 doesn’t sound that appetizing but it does taste amazing. Now after all that dough, meat and butter I’m off to have a heart attack👍
Always been too chicken to make my own biscuits, but dang girl, you have inspired me to take the plunge! Am sure they gonna rock 😋 hello from Wisconsin!
Love gravy and biscuits and vine ripe tomatoes smothered in gravy, dang that’s good, I’ve found that Tennessee pride sausage makes the best sausage gravy
Hello I just came across your video this morning and I’m living down in Brazil at the moment and they don’t have the same food as us. I am from the PNW and grew up on good home cooking and I am going to be making your recipe for my wife and her family so they will have the same experience as we did/do eating great meals. Thanks for sharing your videos and I hope to make a lot more of your recipes. Can’t wait to try this. Take Care..

I've never eaten this. Been wantingvto try it for forever. No way am I going to make the biscuits from scratch. I'm skerred!! 😫😫 So I bought a can of biscuits from aldis cuz grands are nasty. 😖 I'm gonna try this soon. Yall pray for me 😖😫😔🙏🏽
i just made the gravy to go with my store bought biscuits cause i’m lazy. was so good! i used italian breakfast sausage cause that’s all i had in the kitchen. still was good. thank you! my favorite recipe youtube channel ❤
Not a turkey sausage guy. But that looks good. and those biscuits?? sheesh. Lookin tasty. I have tried with sausage, ground pork and ground beef. Goooood stuff every time.
I made these today and they were too salty with 1tsp of salt. I had to throw the whole batch away. The second batch I added 4 cups of flour with 1tsp of salt they were just under salty but could still taste it. Idk about anyone else but I wouldn’t add that much salt making these. More like a pinch instead.
@@ThatGirlCanCook_ Hi. For the sausage I used pork. I didn’t add any seasonings when making the gravy. The seasonings in the sausage were enough and thankfully balanced out the salt taste in the biscuits.
@@khunter8900 that’s most likely the issue. The 1 tsp of salt is because this recipe uses turkey sausage which is HIGHLY bland and less fat/flavor. It would definitely not be necessary for pork sausage as it is already salt heavy.
@@ThatGirlCanCook_ I thought that’s probably why you had 1tsp of salt afterwards. The biscuits alone were not good if I just wanted to eat the biscuit by itself or with something else because they were salty.
I just made the biscuits and daaaaaammmmn are they good!! Thanks for the recipe
Good heavens. These are the best looking biscuits and sausage gravy I’ve seen. That girl CAN cook!!!

If you like green onion, give that a try in place of parsley.

I have always read IF you put the biscuits side by side they rise higher, what is your opinion of that?
Is shortening the same as lard?
Not quite, shortening is strictly made from vegetable oil while lard is made from animal fat, usually pork.
However, both can be used !
The hell with my arteries, I can eat this everyday. And if there is scrambled eggs on the side. I’m done!
Does it have to be whole milk could it be any milk for the gravy 😢
Sis u can u do a gravy from scratch recipe pleaseeee
Hey hunny! What kind of gravy?
When you make your lasagna, do you use your own cheese sauce? Do you use the same cheese method that you use to make macaroni and cheese?
I’m so Jay you used Turkey I have the perfect Turkey sausage for this you have to go to a meat market to get some store made turkey breakfast sausage
Do u make your own buttermilk?
Yes I made it myself actually. I’m not sure if you’re on tiktok but here’s the video: www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRH6pLpk/
