      Actually, if your PC is almost 4-5 years old then, the UEFI/UFI settings may not be seen in the BIOS settings of your PC.
      There are two types of BIOS firmware available in the market, one is legacy BIOS and another is UEFI/UFI.
      legacy BIOS is pretty older where UFEI/UFI is more advanced and customized in modern computer systems.
      I suggest you to upgrade to a new motherboard which comes with UFEI/UFI firmware.
      Hope you understand.
      Stay blessed.

    I want to change the graphics settings from integrated to dedicated but there is no options in bios for that. How can fix that?

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment.
      Very nice question. This same issue I also faced years ago.
      The straight forward answer is no. You can not change the graphics settings from integrated to dedicated. Because our laptop manufacturers don't want this, that's we use dedicated GPU for our system reserved task.
      This term "System reserved tasks" is quiet different from what you think, this terms mainly indicate to pure system works like boot up, network management, virtual memory management and it's nothing to do with gaming and video editing or playing music.
      Also we should not blame our laptop manufacturers for this, because they do this to protect the laptop because if due to any reason the external GPU failed, most often it happens on Nvidia graphics cards due to malfunction driver installation.
      So, that it don't effect our laptop.
      That's why company lock the BIOS settings, so that user can not change the option to internal to dedicated GPU.
      Thought it's possible for some tasks like Gaming and video editing because there a separate option present to select which GPU we want to use, that means we want to use the default Intel Graphics or the Dedicated Nvidia GPU.
      That's it.
      Hope you understand.
      Stay blessed.

      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      I assume that you want to go to the BIOS settings of your HP Laptop. Just press the F10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu. The BIOS settings menu is accessible by pressing the F2 or the F6 key on some computers. After opening the BIOS, go to the boot settings.
      To know more about BIOS, check HP official website and Google as well.

    My computer does not have a legacy option so it’s not letting me boot from a usb. Is there a way to make this happen?

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment.
      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      Why you want to find the legacy option?
      I assume that you want to format your Laptop and want to do some tweaks on your BIOS Advance settings.
      In today's modern computer systems most of the BIOS comes with UEFI/UFI firmware which is more stable and more convenient. It is so advance that even you can control the Fan speed of your motherboard.
      And the legacy is pretty much older and less advance first introduce at the time of DOS operating system. There is high number of chances that your OS became unstable if you install through the Legacy BIOS.
      Even old motherboard gets modern UEFI/UFI update by patch. Most companies want to get rid of this Legacy BIOS.
      If you still need the Legacy option then you need to flash your Laptop BIOS. There ton of TH-cam videos out there where you find how to flash/format your BIOS.
      I assume that you have a modern Laptop which comes with UEFI/UFI BIOS. Believe me you can still boot from USB very efficiently in your Laptop just search on Google according your Laptop model number. And also search in your Laptop user's manual and documents.

      But don't be disappointed, I give you some decent suggestion so that you overcome this worst situation.

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment.
      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      This type of problems most often happens to old Laptop/Computer. Because your motherboard is unable to handle the load of GPT partition.
      GPT partition is more advanced then MBR. Because memory allocation is very different in GPT compare to MBR. And that's why most of the time GPT partition need to be installed by UEFI/UFI BIOS.
      On other hand the Legacy BIOS is pretty much old. Similarly you can not install GPT partition using Legacy BIOS.
      But now a days, most of the Laptop/Computer loaded with both Legacy and UFI/UFEI BIOS. Due to compatibility issue manufacturer gives both Legacy and UFEI/UFI BIOS option. Because some users wanted to install DOS on their computer/Laptop that's why having Legacy is very beneficial.
      Now you say that you stuck at the installation. I suggest you to make a fresh bootable USB. And again try to install windows from that.
      I assume that you can access the BIOS of your Laptop. Now try to boot up from USB and at that time you have to do a crucial step.
      You need to convert your GPT partition to MBR , so that your Laptop again turn on safely. For that purpose you need to open the command prompt (CMD). And convert the partition using CMD.
      1) Now press Shift+F10 key to open the command prompt (CMD) to open CMD window.
      2) Type diskpart.
      3) At the DISKPART prompt, type list disk.
      4) At the DISKPART prompt, type select disk . Most of the time it's 1.
      You have to choose the number of your primary hard drive.
      5) At the DISKPART prompt, type clean.
      6) At the DISKPART prompt, type convert MBR.
      That's it.
      You can also find plenty of tutorial on internet by that you can know how you convert GPT to MBR.
      If you still don't understand what I say, then I request you to go to your nearest computer service center and I am definitely sure that they help you to get out from this situation.

      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      This type of problems mainly comes due to faulty motherboard or corrupted hard disk. It is better if you go to a HP service center and tell them that you face this issue. Because they have lot of equipment so they check thoroughly into your system So, if any damage occur then they easily detect it.
      If your Laptop is under warranty then no tension, they easily check your system without any hesitation, otherwise you need to talk with them about how much money they charge.
      This type of problems can not be solve without proper diagnostics.

      As much as I know, laptops comes with inbuilt graphics card so there no way to replace this card. You have to use this card. That means you don't increase the video memory as well.
      I know there some conserve video memory in motherboard, but that are stored for system health if by any chance the system failure happened the BIOS use that memory to protect the system.
      If you really interested in graphics card and as well as video memory then I suggest you to buy a Desktop computer and also purchased a Nvidia Gefore GTX/RTX card because that cards are beast and give you the best output.
      That's it.

      bro it depend on your hdd partition style, to check it right click on start menu then disk management after it right click on your hdd then properties and go to volume bar, now you can see your hdd partition style

    • @SintelMK
      @SintelMK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      and 1 more thing hdd partition are 2 types MBR and GPT.
      if u have 1tb hdd then mbr best but if u have more than 1tb hdd then gpt is the best option, you can also change your hdd partition style by using some premium software. mbr is kinda old formats and new hdd comes with gpt formats and gpt new technology.

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment.
      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      You can not find your local drive : D in disk management because may be you collapse the drive or format the drive or delete the drive.
      I suggest you to again go to the disk management of your computer/Laptop and you definitely find a black color labeling there, that means the drive is un allocated. What you have to do is just relocate the drive by left click.
      I also suggest you to check on Google and watch another TH-cam videos so, that your concept became clear.

      Actually, this backlit keyboard feature is only available to high price laptop models.
      You can expect this feature on laptops which price is more than 600 USD.
      Next time, please purchase a high-end laptop enjoy such kind of great feature.
      But don't be disappointed, I give you some decent suggestion so that you overcome this worst situation.
      I suggest you to purchase an external back lit keyboard it only cost you approx. 10 USD or sometimes less than this. You can purchase this kind of decent Backlit keyboard on any online E-commerce website (like - Amazon) or from any offline computer retailer store also.

    Can u do a vid about increasing vram through bios?
    Thats the reason i was tinkering with these settings and i don't have the advanced options in the bios

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment.
      Hope you enjoy the video and want to configure your BIOS according to your need.
      Actually, you can not increase your Laptop/Computer VRAM by just changing the BIOS options. Though the number increases if you change the memory allocation in your BIOS but still you don't get sufficient performance from it.
      First you have to understand what is VRAM? The full from of VRAM is video random-access memory.
      Actually, the concept of VRAM is deeply related with your Computer/Laptop graphics card or GPU (graphics processing unit). That's why Graphics card is also called video card.
      The only way to increase your VRAM is by upgrading your current graphics card. Upgrading Graphics card is little bit harder in Laptop but quite easy in Computer (Desktop).
      So, purchasing a high price Graphics card can increase the video memory of your Computer/Laptop.
      I also give you a decent example suppose you purchase a 2 GB Graphics card. the VRAM of your Graphics card is 2 GB. VRAM is the RAM of Graphics card. Though it's a little bit different from traditional Computer RAM.
      I know its little bit complex but you have to understand it very carefully and deeply.

      Ok, Let me explain it better for you,
      You can increase your VRAM if you have integrated graphics but there are certain limitations and it may or may not allow you to play new games and to get better performance, However some of the stuttering issues could go away, Okay so if you have Intel Integrated Graphics or Intel HD, Then the VRAM of your integrated GPU is a small amount of RAM from your RAM, Same goes for Ryzen's Vega graphics I think. Anyway a certain specific minimum amount of VRAM is assigned to the Integrated graphics from the RAM by Windows, Now this amount is what you see in your display adapter properties called dedicated VRAM, This can be 32MB, 128MB, or even 512, And if you have 4 Gigs of RAM, The the minimum VRAM of your integrated graphics could go upto 512MB and if it's 8 Gigs then 1024MB or 1GB. Now Windows gives the integrated GPU more RAM when it's under heavy load, But it takes some time to give RAM to the GPU, Now this is the reason why integrated graphics has better performance when using dual channel RAM, Because when using dual channel RAM, You have a higher Bandwidth, Two channels, or more space meaning that the information could go through freely without any obstacles so the performance will be better, More so for Ryzen's Vega Graphics. Now in some laptops you have the option to increase the dedicated VRAM or the minimum system shared memory for the integrated GPU via the BIOS, But some manufacturers will hide or lock this option completely, Now there are certain key presses and things that you can do to unlock these hidden options, But if it's locked completely then you can head over to a site like bios-mods and put a request there for them to mod/unlock your BIOS or you can learn to mod it yourself using a hex editor and other tools. And you can increase your VRAM and performance on Intel HD by using modded drivers such as PHDGD, I specifically was able to increase the VRAM on my Intel HD Graphics 3000 from 32MB to 64MB, And if you're on Intel HD 4000 then you could increase your VRAM up to 1GB by using the virtual VRAM tool from PHDGD.👍

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for your comment.
      Relax, you can easily overcome this issue.
      Actually, "boot guard" is a specific software systems that already built in some specific motherboard. Because it's the best way to protect Computer/Laptop hardware from unauthorized access.
      It is mainly used in office Laptops to protect confidential office data.
      You need to flash your BIOS first, after that try to install the hard drive. There are lot of videos on TH-cam where you can find how to flash BIOS.
      If your Laptop is under warranty then I suggest you to visit your nearest service center to repair this.
      If you don't know too much about BIOS then it's better idea to go to a professional otherwise you can mess up your Laptop and hardware components as well.

      @TECHNICALMAITY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment.
      Hope you enjoy the video.
      First you have to know that what is "overclocking" ?
      In a single sentence overclock means you give some extra power to your hardware ( like - motherboard, graphic card , processors ) so that they works at extreme condition hence it causes some performance boost to your computer.
      But another thing is there some disadvantages also , it also causes your hardware damage like burning out in fire in your computer system.
      To overclock any computer system you have to make the environment first that means you have the proper cooling system like liquid cooling , sometimes liquid nitrogen it cost you more than you think.
      Another thing is overclock those systems which are supported overclocking or factory unlocked.
      It is OK to overclock your computer components but it has some high risk if you do it in your low cost laptop models.
      Don't overclock your laptop unless you have ASUS ROG or ALIENWARE (Google it for more information about these laptop)
      It resulting burn your laptop components short circuit or some times blast with explosion.
      That's it.
      Hope your understand.

There is high number of chance that your OS became unstable if you install through the Legacy BIOS.
      Even old motherboard get modern UEFI/UFI update by patch. Most companies want to get rid of this Legacy BIOS.
      If you still need the Legacy option then you need to flash your Laptop BIOS. There ton of TH-cam videos out there where you find how to flash/format your BIOS.

    Can someone help me is there a posible way to change resolution screen in bios?

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment.
      Hope you enjoy the video and wanted to know more about BIOS and Screen Resolution.
      I assume that you want to change only the BIOS screen resolution which is completely different from windows OS screen resolution. For that purpose you have to go to the BIOS advanced settings and find the appropriate option.
      I give you a Microsoft official support page where they written a complete Blog on this. Here is the Link : learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/devtest/bcdedit--set
      You have to run Command Prompt as Admin and paste this:
      bcdedit.exe -set {globalsettings} highestmode on
      Hope this works for you!
      By the way, I suggest you to don't get too much deep dive into this topic because it's nothing to do with the Computer functionality, Resolution just make the screen fancier.

    • @TECHNICALMAITY
      @TECHNICALMAITY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment.
      Why you want the legacy support in your BIOS?
      All newer Laptops comes with UFI/UEFI BIOS, which is way more advanced than you thing. Actually, the legacy BIOS is pretty much older. It was first introduced on earlier nineties(1900). At that time DOS is a primary operating system (OS) in most Computers.
      And if you manage to create a backdoor in your BIOS to support the older legacy version then you do very wrong to you Laptop. Because modern operating system (OS) are design to run on UFI/UEFI BIOS. If you install windows OS through legacy then there should some memory allocation error may happen to your Laptop/Computer which may slow down your Computer/Laptop.
      So, always remember to install windows OS through UFI/UFEI.

      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      This ACPI BIOS error mainly comes into laptops when there a problem in your RAM.
      I suggest you to insert your laptop RAM properly. Open the Laptop back panel and take out the RAM just clean it using any cloth and reinsert this into your laptop.
      And if the problem still exist, then I suggest you to purchase a new RAM.

      If you fail to get the latest BIOS update or the latest version is not ACPI compliant, you'll need to try to fix the problem by turning off ACPI mode. You can find lot of videos on "How to turn off the ACPI mode".
      This problem also happens due to corrupted windows registry and old drivers.
      Now just find out the issue by your self. I give you some most appropriate reasons.
      That's it.

      Thanks for your comment.
      Relax, it's a minor problem you can easily resolve this issue.
      It's seems like all of your operating system (OS) is completely wipe out from your Computer. Now what you have to do is just try to install any of your Operating system (OS) first. That means it's may be Window or Linux.
      Try to create a bootable USB where your put the OS. And try to install from that bootable USB. Just go to the BIOS of your computer and select "Boot from USB".
      And after that your Computer is automatically loaded that OS.
      And you get clear on screen instructions for the installation.
      Once any of your OS is installed then you can easily install another OS by dual booting.
      I know this steps are little bit complex but you have to understand it properly.
      Check Google and TH-cam for more information.

      It's a sign of motherboard failure. I suggest you to go to your nearest service center. If your Laptop is under warranty then they fix it free of cost if your Laptop is out of warranty then they charge you some extra amount of money.
      You have to flash BIOS in your Laptop using external USB drive. You could find a tons of videos on this topic on Internet and as well as TH-cam also.
