Thank you! Fili was filming this episode. Since there are only two of us, we're still working out how to both be on camera. So when one of us is missing, know that we're filming ;)
I love this web series! I've loved the series since 6th grade. Heck, I even gave my dog, Pippi, the nickname Pippin, after Peregrin Took. I'm even gonna take a year of Old English and the Middle Ages in collage.
I might be crazy, but you girls have inspired me! I let my boys buy chicks so now we are going to have chickens! I am trying to figure out how to build a coop. We are allowed 4 chickens in our community. The coop has to look pretty good and match the house or my neighbors can complain. I got a Aracuna, Columbian Wynadotte, and another kind of Wynadotte. Should be fun!
Absolutely loved this video and these two girls! Really sweet! It's obvious they love their chickens (for their sake, I hope their moms are vegetarians!)
I have a farm too!! I love my goats there names are Safid, Lulu, Mama, Spartacus, Maximus, Luke, Leah, Thor, and Loki! Then my mom named all the chickens and chicks we have afterall the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit characters!! which is a LOT!
This show is excellent and quite informative! I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan myself, and it's nice to know that there are other people who share my enthusiasm. Keep it up!
Make the coop with a huge door for cleaning it out. You will thank me later. To catch a chicken, try having one person swing a gunnysack around and around in the air over the area. The chickens will crouch down and freeze, thinking it is a hawk. The second person grabs the chicken. Works sometimes. Skunks love eggs too. Smelly if you have a dog protecting the chickens. Go hobbits!
Both informative and entertaining. Thanks So what part of the country do you guys live at and what are the predator and weather challenges that comes from that area? Curious since we are both retired and plan to move to an rural area and raise a few chickens and a few goats. Thanks
Wicked awesome gals, keep up the cool vids. For a minute I thought it could have been a video of my friends and me when we were growing up. You guys aren't by chance home schooled are you?
Just so you know you don't need to clean the eggs before use unless you eat the shell too as here in the UK/most other none American places we get natural eggs and yes that means we can get feathers and what not on them
If you ladies need some tips about growing beans , corn , potatoes etc ( agroecology style) feel free to ask. Great video By the way, i live like a hobbit too. From Brazil.
An excellently informative video, but please elaborate upon the best ways of raising Hobbits as mentioned near the end of this presentation. Thank you.
