    This video is from our time living in Arizona and our channel was known as "Arizona Dreamz". We have since moved to the Midwest. New state, new channel name! We no longer make AZ content, but now focus on family vlogs of our life in Michigan.

    Thank you so much for this video. My son just graduated from medical residency and his first job is in Yuma Arizona. Being a vegetarian and living a healthy lifestyle I have been concerned about him being there. He will be three weeks in Yuma one week in Scottsdale.and so all of your Arizona videos have been super important and informative to me as his mother. Your videos are helping me help him to figure out how to navigate this important move from Philadelphia to Arizona staring July 2020, (not that he needs it😆). Just a side point, I am originally from Dearborn Michigan, I left Michigan in 1979, spent 25 years in Ashland Oregon, 6 years in northern and southern Cali, and have been 9 years in Boulder Colorado. I love Boulder, and Colorado winters are awesome, 50 degrees and sunshine and its middle January! I will also be moving to Scottsdale in the near future. So thanks for all your videos and I think you're both awesome parents!

    11:52 it isnt new but it looks new cause i think back in 2014 a teenager was there at midnight and the light poles have cameras and caught him lighting the park on fire and they had to rebuild it, but if you go to google earth and go to this park you can see it all burnt

    • @brianb.8295
      @brianb.8295 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that happened back in December 2014. The community was devastated that such a thing happened, but if there's one thing I love about Yuma, it's the unbelievable community pride. More than $50,000 was raised before finding out that the park was covered under insurance, so the money that was raised went into making the park that much better. Also, more than 2,500 residents volunteered their time to rebuild the park.
      I was really happy when YPD caught the punk that set the fire.

    I was born here in Yuma in 1952… at the old hospital on Avenue B. Lived here all life except for two years in California when I was a little kid, and another year playing in a band on the road. There’s no ocean, but we do have the Colorado River and several nice lakes for swimming, fishing, boating, etc. We have a big marine base, farming, usually lots of snowbirds in the winter. I played music for many of the RV parks here, and those folks are really nice. You can get inexpensive medicine and dental work in Algodones. We don’t have much of a concert scene here, but also don’t have to put up with traffic. If you do you sand buggies, the sand dunes are here. Some good churches, too. It is hot for sure, but we don’t have many forest fires 😜 hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, etc. The occasional sandstorm however.

      Phoenix and Tucson temperatures are just as high. Having just one airline sucks but you can always drive to Phoenix or San Diego for flights. Imperial, Ca airport is an hour away with flights to LAX. There are many places to visit within a 5hr drive. San Diego, Palm Springs, and Phoenix are within a 3hr drive. Plenty of outdoor activities here. Not much music entertainment.

    This quaint little border city will continue to grow as is, albeit more slowly I hope (Arizona is exactly like California regarding its current political situation, No. 1 reason Californians should NOT move there for the time being especially 😛). Kinda surprised the US solar industry hasn't just made Yuma "Ground Zero" for their base of operations yet. "Sunniest City On Earth" with the history records to back it up (not to mention what a major boost it would be to the local economy that is still largely based on agriculture today), what could be more ideal than that!?!?!?
