i watched this video 10 minutes before i left the house to take my drivers test bc i didn’t know how to parallel park and i’m here to tell y’all it worked and i passed, 10/10 video
This is such a helpful video. I could never tell if i had reached a 45 degrees angle., but you have explained how to check this now by looking for an equilateral triangle in the side mirror. This moneuver is making more and more sense to me niw Thank you so much for explaining this.😁💗 it is becoming crystal ckear.
I did parallel parking great just before the test.....failed it miserably during my driving test😔 i was too wide away from the curb and struggled to correct myself.
Hey, I haven't seen the trick about turning the wheel once the triangle disseapears elsewhere and it usually works. The other tricks I see usually leave me too far from the curb but that's probably because I'm driving a smaller car. Do you have a trick by any chance for parking on the left side to be directly next to the curb? Thanks.
Hi Wudgee. The recommended distance can vary depending on the vehicle you're driving. You want to be able to leave the parking spot preferably without having to back up. For a regular size car I like to be about 1.5m (4-5') away. This way if someone is parked really close to me I will not be boxed in.
Its very good, but the problem is when im on the test i have to lover my right mirror as low as possible in order to see where the curb is so i dont really see the triangle. Is there an alternative? I know its dumb but if i dont do that i fail my test
Well it depends on your car and how steep the hill is. For my manual transmission one, I use the clutch and accelerator to back up off downhill park on a steep hill.
@@prakashchander9263 Sorry, I must've misunderstood your question. I thought you meant getting off the curb on a downhill park where you have to back off the curb. Are you attempting a parallel park on a hill and is the nose of the car facing up or downwards? In a manual transmission if on a hill , I usually put in neutral, let gravity do the work and ride the brake vs the clutch.
Hi Daro. It depends on the shape of the triangle. If it looks like a pizza slice, then your'e in the 30 degrees ballpark and require to go a little more before straighten out the wheels. The big take-away is to try to always have a similar triangle as it will affect how far you have to back up straight. Once you have a consistent angle, keep it! If you are too far away from the curb when parking try and go a little further back on your next attempt. If you consistently hit the curb, then don't go as far back. Hope this helps! Dom
@@edmontondrivingschool when you pull up and line up with the car how many times you turn the steering wheel before backing up??? i was told 360 degrees and also have some that say 1 1/2 turns to the right....
@@MissHitAllTheTime We teach our students to turn the wheel all the way. This will give you the tightest turn radius you can get from your car and will keep things predictable.

Hi MM and thanks for your comment. In this jurisdiction ( Alberta, Canada) vehicles must be parked within 50 cm (0-50) from the curb. If you're not sure of what distances are required where you live, please check with your government's transportation branch.

You are the only
One to show what it looks like in the passenger side mirror. THANK YOU!!!!!
I have watched many videos on parallel parking, this one is excellent. Thanks

I nailed parallel parking perfectly today in my G2 test because of this video. Thank you !
Guys this is the easiest technique...thank you I passed today!
This made it a lot easier to understand thank you ☺️
Technically correct explanation is easy to understand and practically easy. Thanks
I did this perfectly one time... and one time was it lol 😂
Very clear and neat presentation. Thank you so much
Thanks for your video i passed my driving exam today.
You're welcome!. Congrats on getting your license!
Nice👍I like your technique how to do parallel parking. Thank you for sharing. I learned how to see the triangle way.

This is quite different from other Videos.... Will try this method to get closer to the curb as we park....
Thank you of this best video
I want to know when it’s a 45 degree angle between cones.?

Superb video.👍👍
Hi from Lima - Peru !!! Thank you for your vids ! I got some trouble 90 degree parking with a kia soul , could you do an explanation about it ?
Hi,
Should I keep clutch pressed while reversing downhill from parking?
Well it depends on your car and how steep the hill is. For my manual transmission one, I use the clutch and accelerator to back up off downhill park on a steep hill.
@@edmontondrivingschool why would you use acceleration when car itself rolling downward?

I was about to sub but you only have 3 videos in a span of a year. I could just finish all your vids in one sitting.
You guys in America have sooo much room

50 centimeters is too much far from the curb
One foot or 30 .5centimeters is a good distance from the curb

I live in USA I think one foot 30.5 centimeters like the width of Gutter of rain beside the curb is good

SO MUCH BETTER THAN ALL THE OTHER SHITTY TUTORIALS

50 centimetres is nearly half mettere innit? End of the video 🙄
Hi Ledi. Yes 50cm is half a metre. In this jurisdiction vehicles must within 50cm from the curb to be considered legally parked.
Like
45 degree angle. Sorry, never carry a protractor in the car.
Thank you
