RTO autobrake is for Rejected-Takeoff XD =]. But other than that, that landing was PERFECT. Usually in that mission I'm a bit off on the center line and pass the touchdown zone but you did awesome.
The identifier can be turned off right after you hear a signal, which are beeps. The Vor is always active as long as the frequecy is in active. So at the bottom of the radio stack is a vor 1 and vor 2 light/button. These are the identifier buttons.
Actually, windsheer is what causes the stall alarms. Windsheer is the wind changing direction every few seconds. Causing the plane to lift and drop 5 feet. I would pull 40% spoiler axis to keep from raising. Also remember if you hear a stall alarm it's usually too late to recover. A 747 that low would drop from the sky.
That is the identifier. That means you have a correct frequency or atleast a local frequency. So you just click shift 2 and your radio stack will open. Press the vor1 button down below off. I swear you mean the annoying beeping and it never stops. The idea is to hear the beeps then turn off the light below and your ILS id active.
ye it does make sense but when i did this mission i managed to land the plane softly with under 5 degrees. anyways nice video and nice landing (your tail didnt touch the ground anyways!) 5 stars
Go to map in the game when you near the airport. Then hold mouse over rwy that has green area. Then copy the frequency and the true rwy heading. In your plane hit shift 2 and put the frequency in nav on the right side. Next hit the button in the middle putting the freq from non active to active. Here's the important thing make sure the switch on the panel that say gps av is on NAV. Forget gps good for getting to the airport. Put the true heading in the course heading.
I use pro pedals, so I like to use differential brakes for keeping the plane on center line. I think your suppose to use the take off procedure for the auto brake? Great question Thx!
It's nice... That's the wind. I had to wait longer for the proper angle of flare. Also did you hear the stall warnings at normal speed. I was low if anything!
ive completed this mission every time and what you need to do is a CATIIIB ILS approach witch is autoland in witch if you keep the approach hold down the whole way, the plane will land its self and then you turn autopilot of once your at about 100 feet from touch down or less or you can keep it on the whole time
I know what it is.....the wing flex. When the wing gets out of the way then you think its down. But it was down near the beg of the clip..... wing view! So setting it down was smooth and a long slow wing flex. Check it out again. Alot of people are confused on this landing. Cause you can;t see the rear wheels.
If your talking about fsx all the defaults have window views. You just use views/aircraft/window view. If your talking about fs9. Just paste the info they give you in the panel/config. file. Put the photo in the panel folder. That's it, but will only work in panel view.
Try to use the spoiler! This helped braking and droping when the lift comes/! I use an axis controller from my yoke! This way I can use a percentage! Try using your mouse to move it back slightly!
this "challenge" is really easy if you just know how to program the autopilot to follow the localizer to the runway. Put on a heading hold on the localizer and manage the pitch by hand -- if anybody knows how to program vnav into the autopilot then you have it all taken care of -- also, put on auto throttle to maintain whatever the approach speed is (it says in the challenge) and switch it off at mda when runway is in sight
ye but if u turn it off to early your plane will follow the heading only and wont guide you to the runway, it needs to be active because if you only give the heading it will make your plane fly in a straight line regardless of where the runway is.
Those alarms are from windsheer. The plane will drop and lift quickly over and over. So heres a lesson. Everytime the alarm goes off, you are dropping, and when it's not on, you are either stable or in a lift. Watch my spoiler in the vid. I use an axis controller to have range to stable out the plane!
I decided to add 15 knots after the first stall alarm came on. Hope this increase of speed was actually a good judgement on my behalf. Thanks a million!
Commercial planes are probably alot harder to takeoff than to land. Well I have an altitude set so the auto pilot levels the plane. So set the altitude then hit Z for master autopilot switch. Also turn on altitude hold switch. The plane should level off. Another way is to use the fs commercial takeoff lesson. This is my secret to getting good. Then you just have to practice, practice, practice!
Windsheer causes a false stall alarm. If you ever stall a 747 the plane usually will not recover. As you could see I was fine at 165-170 knots. But it does show how windsheer can cause a plane to crash too. I was dropping 5 feet then raising 5 feet over and over. lol....
you can talk to ATC on the regular fsx right? you dont need the deluxe version? basically you dont need the deluxe to get online and fly with other pilots right?
I agree the fsx weather for crosswinds\ has problems. But I believe 2004 is closer. I flew a couple times in real life. So I cant say how close it is. But if you ever use force feedback, then it feels real. have you ever used force??? Try it!
I will look. But remember it might be because the windsheer is lifting the plane. So I use an axis controller for my spoiler. So you might have seen about 15% engaged only.....Not 100%! You probably fly with a button for your spoiler.. or your arm your spoiler, I recommend that! I have about 12 years of sim time...I am always learning somthing new....So this might be your new lesson!
The auto throtlle is on. So if the plane is decending and the flaps are 10 degrees the buzzard warns that the plane is not using 10% throttle! So I use the speed brake to keep the throttle open slightly. Make sense????
Well I use pro pedals by ch products. So I use the toe brakes for wet runways, without too much rudder. So RTC is the same as RTO. I know this is for takeoff. But I'm not sure when I go manual brakes to use RTC?
Well the scenery and talking was supposed to keep the viewer interested. So for 10 minutes long, I think most finish it out. The point of this vid was for newbies to see how someone else is using the game. Most of all a VC flight.
Did you do the ILS or manual? Every time I do the ILS the airplane glides to the touch down point and goes right through the runway and crashes. Any advise on how to solve that problem.
I knew that is was for rejected takeoff. So for now on I will leave it off, If I am going to use manual toe brakes. The reason I like toe brakes is, I can track center line without jerking the plane with the rudder.
Yes, but wanted to know what plane. Plus u want extra instructions, I need to know what plane. Ok I will use the Boeing 737! Do you want to know how to land with no atc or with??? Cause no atc might be easier.
deliveryguy1970 , I cannot see that the app was wrong but at which speed did you cross the threshold? The touch down stripes is an indication that you came in a bit too high to fast but this is simulation and the weather effects are still not close to what it feels like in real life or how it acts on the effects of control.
I use toe brakes for tracking center line. I learned A while back to just leave it in the off position, Since I'm not using Autobrakes. So basically I was wrong setting that. Also during wet conditions i learned to use the autobrakes not the toebrakes.
I follwed atc by auto pilot and then I used the APP after intercepting the ILS. Then I turned off the auto pilot and speed hold switch around 1,000 AGL. (above ground level) Hope this helps!
Ive got a question, and I mean this in all sincerity. If, God forbid, you were on a plane and the pilot died (became unable to fly somehow) would all this sim training allow you to land the plane? Do you think you could? I'd be interested to see if you could make it happen.
I did the whole mission but stalled on final approach less than 100 feet from the airport. :[ The crash was kinda cool the co-pilot sais "brace yourself!!"
well in that weather, you can see in the vid I was 150 to 170, The speed indicator would not stay within 10knots. Also I used 60% spoiler everytime I felt lift. When the lift would stop i would release the spoiler. I also stayed slightly low or tried and it works out perfect. Or you over shoot the runway.
@69adrummer if you are practiced enough and fly very realistic aircraft, then you could get by. it wouldnt be a smooth thouchdown but you could probably walk away from it which is better than it crashing into a building. but i wouldnt recommend trying to rush the cockpit and take over from the real pilots
Those are false warnings cause by windsheer. So basically any plane in a windsheer is stalling. So the only way the plane will fall from the sky is if you fall below the stall speed!
@ronmania86 Now in the real world when a 747 stalls on a landing, going on the assumption it stalls over the runway, the landing gear would undoubtedly collapse. Worse case scenario a wing could rupture and ignite the fuel inside.
MUST READ!!! Also I used an outside view where the windsheer was most effective,,,so you could see the plane rise and lower very quickly. 1 mistake and you have a miss approach. Watch my axis spoiler work fighting. You can see the plane lift I open the spoiler slightly. When the plane would drop I simply close the spoiler.. This made the perfect approach......Enjoy!
It isn't that easy just to teach everything... I went through the flying school in Flight Simulator 2004 and it took me some months with practise to learn everything and still I don't know all the things. The Addon Aircrafts like PMDG 747 are more complex, these default planes aren't at all.
I bet you realism settings are not all the way up. Because if you come in any faster you get tremendious amounts of lift. I remember this. Try flying a helicoptor in FS2004 with realism all the way up. LOL
Good lord what's wrong with the autopilot on the FSX 747?! Is it just me or is it a bit odd how they've pasted on an extra V/S button and put the altitude hold button below the speed window? It's also annoying how you can't press the CMD button. PMDG is the way forward ;)
because I planed to use my toe brakes! For tracking center line! I have been using auto brakes too. But in wet conditions, I like the toe brakes for safety! Oh If I do use toe brakes, do you use RTO? Anyone that's a real pilot???

aww ain't gonna say too much, youre still the king;)
Just FSX!
FSX has missions like this one!
makes the game come to life!

yes. Go to the game folder. Then airplanes. If you

remove the airplane folder of your choice.

I also did float to make up for the sudden lifting
and falling effects. This way you don't slam the
plane down hard.
That makes sense. Try the mission on full realism.
That's what makes it hard to land.
Try it!
Thanks. I tried to stay slightly low intentionally. Cause I was getting more lift
than drop!
Makes sense right?

What plane is your favorite, or most you use???
Less missions and 10 major airports scenery!
Also planes. But basically it has the sam fuctions!
So yes!
Very nice.
It is a challenge for sure!

How you can zoom to your instruments? It would be really helpful on overal panel
Perfect, ok. Oh by the way. How long have you
been using a sim? Just wondering since you want lessons.
Oh that's what he saw......I was using the speed brake
too. But not when I touched down.
That's so the auto throttle keeps atleast 10% power
or an alarm will sound. Later,
The beeping is caused from the windsheer.
So when thwe wind changes direction the plane
thinks its stalling.
Did you do the ILS or manual? Every time I do the ILS the airplane glides to the touch down point and goes right through the runway and crashes. Any advise on how to solve that problem.
At minimums (400-200 feet from ground) turn off the autopilot and pitch up an extra 2 degrees. Not too much or you star climbing
a Stall landing is a Good landing..Dont be hatin losers..he's doin a fine job
I knew that is was for rejected takeoff. So
for now on I will leave it off,
If I am going to use manual toe brakes.

More planes scenery and missions!
Use PMDG MD11, best aircraft in the world and in FSX too :D
@deliveryguy1970 jst kick the throttle give the tail its correct position but trust me this suggestion sometimes dont work!!!
How long you been flying J8?
I don't think the rating would be this good
if 5,000 people thought I was stalling!
Monsoon is a type of weather/storm!
wat do u use the "course" button 4 in the 737-800? thnks
did u do a manual landing? or ILS?
Ive got a question, and I mean this in all sincerity. If, God forbid, you were on a plane and the pilot died (became unable to fly somehow) would all this sim training allow you to land the plane? Do you think you could? I'd be interested to see if you could make it happen.

How do you move around and turn in the cockpit?
Nope. I was using the speed brake every time
the plane lifted and realeased it every time the
plane droped. Make sense!
YES, Just have a friend send you a copy of the plane
folder. Or reinstall the game!
Were you a bit high there...4 whites?
I don't have FSX, but for default aircraft that's pretty!
@69adrummer if you are practiced enough and fly very realistic aircraft, then you could get by. it wouldnt be a smooth thouchdown but you could probably walk away from it which is better than it crashing into a building. but i wouldnt recommend trying to rush the cockpit and take over from the real pilots
nice landing!
I had fraps recording while I flew the mission. Also I had to record all the way
through. Then cut 2 minutes off. To fit 10
minutes.
set the NAV/GPS Button to GPS and press the NAV Button at the AP
I think the mission is easy. But if your plane
is at it's hightest realism.
Then then landing is tough.
Those are false warnings cause by windsheer.
So basically any plane in a windsheer is stalling.
So the only way the plane will fall from the sky
is if you fall below the stall speed!
@ronmania86
Now in the real world when a 747 stalls on a landing, going on the assumption it stalls over the runway, the landing gear would undoubtedly collapse. Worse case scenario a wing could rupture and ignite the fuel inside.
how do you get in the glide slope ???
what is the buzzing?
yeah i have never flown any plane in flight simulator unless its at maximum realism
Yesterday I Did The Mission Perfectly
PS-I Just Not Stall At All But Some People Still Use Stalling To Touch Down!
MUST READ!!!
Also I used an outside view where the windsheer was
most effective,,,so you could see the plane rise and
lower very quickly. 1 mistake and you have a miss
approach. Watch my axis spoiler work fighting.
You can see the plane lift I open the spoiler slightly.
When the plane would drop I simply close the spoiler..
This made the perfect approach......Enjoy!

how come the fsx 747 cockpit is always so loud?
Try Full realism. I promise you it's not easy!
Been flying 12 years! How can wind like this
be easy!
Thanks man!
Does anyone know why he set the Auto Brakes to RTO?
Good lord what's wrong with the autopilot on the FSX 747?! Is it just me or is it a bit odd how they've pasted on an extra V/S button and put the altitude hold button below the speed window? It's also annoying how you can't press the CMD button.
PMDG is the way forward ;)
No problem!
@shmuck50 u can use spoilers in mid air
because I planed to use my toe brakes!
For tracking center line!
I have been using auto brakes too.
But in wet conditions, I like the toe brakes
for safety!
Oh If I do use toe brakes, do you use RTO?
Anyone that's a real pilot???
erm... why you set the autobrake to RTO?
5 Star as Usual!
Want to get the stall sound much?
Also great for wet runways!
Thanks!
dodnt use speed brakes while u r flying it will make u stall or lose too much speed
MUST READ!!!
Well I watched the vid today.....I know what you guys
are missing when you watch the vid. When the plane lands
you think the speedbrake is up as it lands....
But your actually seeing WINGFLEX the rear wheels were down by the time the wing lowered from flex.
Now I see why people thought I had the spoiler full
open as it looks like the plane is still lowering!!
Also I use an axis controller. So I was using 10% to
20% spoiler\speedbrake. If you use a button to engage
you will get 100%. Do not do that!!!
Good one!
Thanks concordlover!
woah nice landing, also would anyone know if FSX would run smoothly with a nvidia 7900 gs 256 megs and an intel core 2 duo e6300 running at 1.86 ghz, im interesting in getting FSX and after playing the demo i can decent performance around mid to high graphic settings.
I know this. 10 is alot.
But If you try 5 defrees on this mission
you will hit hard. because i was dropping
and raising 5 feet every 3 seconds.
So I flared more to make up for my slow
decent.
Makes sense right?? Anyone can comment on this! Please do!
Thank You! Hey can you tell me why you gave me a 4
star for my landing! Thanks again for great ratings.
I agree!
AHHHHHH ok. Didnt realise that. Cool vid though!
i landed on my front gear at this mission, well thats hard!
Big plane!
