Hercules was so rough that my wallet fell out of my back pocket and it was velcro'd shut! I couldn't find out where I lost it and when I finally went back to the ride and asked if anyone had lost anything on the ride, they just laughed at me and handed me a giant box, lol.
Waited 3 hours for son of beast the year it opened. Word in the queue was that it was running 10-15mph faster than expected in the first few months after its debut. I was 14, so could take the pain, but my old man rode it once and said enough.
I think I have the Son of the Beast to thank for my back pain, It didn’t help that my brother told me to push my back against the seat as hard as I could, so after the first drop I got the wind knocked out of me and couldn’t breathe the rest of the ride. Only rode it once and that was it lol
I wasn’t even a year old when it came out, but my dad rode it opening day and said that that was without a doubt the worst roller coaster that he had been on. He blames his lower back pain on it to this day. He said that when you hit the bottom of the first drop, your back would immediately start hurting
It's definitely interesting and ahead of its time. That second part may have been the problem though. It was ahead of its time. The smoother rails and stronger frames used by modern steel coasters didn't exist yet. I give them credit for trying such an ambitious ride for its time however.
My grandma told me that she rode the Comet at Crystal Beach, and after that she was so terrified of rollercoasters, she hasn’t ridden a single theme park ride in 50 years! I’m trying to get her onto Yukon Striker next year, you’re more likely be struck by lightning than her going on that thing!
Jackiskey Gaming Oh my god. I plan on riding the Yukon Striker. My parents and brother wouldn’t go on it. I don’t like the wooden roller coasters at Wonderland.
Scary how many of those I've been on. And completely agreed with your list. If Flashback isn't the worst coaster I've been on, then it would be Son of Beast. But I'm not interested in reriding to find out which is the worst. LoL Thanks for the shout out as well!!
Son of Beast is my all time favorite coaster lmao. I like to be shaken around and feel like I'm going to fly off the track though. I'm glad I got to grow up riding it constantly, though I do remember once when I was too skinny as a kid, and had to hold on to the restraint or I would have flown out
I loved Mean Streak and was devastated when it closed because I was living in another state at the time and never got the chance to get a last ride. I got my first ride on Steel Vengeance as soon as I could, and it was AMAZING!
Theme Park Crazy definitely needs to give TOGO a fair shake here, because the list makes it sound like he's crapping on them when in reality every coaster that made it to America turned out to be a bust. The only exception to that rule was the Ultra Twister that was one of the many victims of the "murder" of AstroWorld. :(
I rode Viper before it closed and I remember it well. It was the first ride to break while I was in line for it. We managed to get on before the end of the day and it was horribly rough. We also rode Great American Scream Machine. As a kid, my head was between the restraints and I got off with ears that we're totally red from banging around. My trip to Great Adventure was downright horrible and dangerous.
Steel Vengeance is literally my favorite coaster at cedar point. Im so glad they revamped the Mean Streak to make it happen. The mean streak made me wish i wore bubble wrap and three sports bras to cushion the jarring experience.
As a survivor of both Flashback and Wind Jammer. Flashback was so rough, much of it was a blur. I never truly understood the layout even after many rides. Wind Jammer didnt have 2 identical "racing" tracks. It has a smooth flowing side, and a angled jagged side, to simulate two different "personalities". Shortly after opening, people realized the jagged side sucked, and nobody would line up for that side. That would mean short lines if you could suffer though it. Not only was it a bad coaster (both sides were bad) but people HATED the ride because it replaced Soap Box Derby. Many fans tried so hard to keep that classic steeple chase ride, just to have it be replaced with such a failure. Many people boycotted Knotts in general, that contributed to the rides quick demolishing.
Leah K-P I went on Mean Streak back in 2013 and multiple times when I visited Cedar Point before. I went on Magnum XL in 2013. The Mean Streak wasn’t a bad ride being a tad rough. Magnum XL was awful and really rough. Banging you around and smashing your thighs.
The first few times I went to Cedar Point, I adored Mean Streak. I was young, so a rough ride didn't murder me yet, and it just hauled through its layout. Then the trim break was added. It took a rough, but fast as hell ride, and made it rough... And boring. Mean Streak will still always be one of my favorite woodies, though, from those amazing early memories of it. (Boardwalk Bullet is my favorite, though)
Cedar Point’s Mean Streak definitely lived up to its name. I was injured on it in the early 90s after the rearmost car “experienced excessive shear forces” when whipping around a corner.
I’m always so excited when I see you post! Thank you for uploading, my dad and I have watched together loads while we both recovered from surgery! After we went to Hersheypark to celebrate our recovery. He can’t ride all of them because of his spinal issues but we enjoy learning about the history. Now I watch all of them and it definitely cheers me up having something to distract me from the complications. Again thank you for creating this positive channel and community! ❤️❤️❤️
I was thinking of including it on the poll, though this poll mostly focuses on coasters known for being bad. Nobody besides some reporters and a lucky few people got to ride. Rest assured though, Twist Coaster Robin will get its very own video :) .
As a 9-12 year old, I LOVED Flashback and didn't see why it wasn't more popular lol. Those inversions and double upward helix at the bottom were pretty sick.... Maybe I was too small to notice how rough it was. Or maybe it was like Viper at Magic Mountain where I distinctly remember tensing my neck and basically locking in my head from moving side to side.....good times.
Agreed. I live in Cincinnati and my two favorite parks are Kings Island and Cedar Point. I've been to a lot of parks, but I think these two are the best and have a lot of great coasters.... but I wasn't a fan of Mean Streak or Son of Beast. Rode them both only once and hated how rough they were.
Don't know how old you are but did you ever get to ride The Bat? What was the reasoning for removing the King Cobra? King's Island doesn't get the credit it deserves for being the first park to introduce new concept rides.
@@berryberrykixx - Cedar Point is awesome. My 2nd favorite park after Kings Island... but I'm biased of course. And now Cedar Point owns Kings Island and is starting to build a lot of coasters there. :)
I went to Cedar Point ONCE in 2013 and I can still remember how painful Mean Streak was. Couldn't remember the name of it, though. Just remembered, "that one big wooden coaster than f*cked me up."
Steel Vengeance and Rougarou are great upgrades to the old coasters. I didn't have too much issue with Mean Streak but damn I hated the Mantis. Hurt my feet like hell.
The first time I rode Mantis, I had my upper ears pierced and when it came around the final turn my head smacked both sides of the over-the-shoulder bars so hard, both ears were bleeding profusely. Never rode it again.
I agree… Mean Streak did not bother me…… That dang gone Mantis….. messed my knees up after riding it…. Somehow they locked up on me while riding the coaster….😢😢😢😢
Drachen Fire was actually the first roller coaster I ever rode. I think I was probably 10 or 12 at the time. I loved it and rode it about 7 times that day, which was easy to do since there was virtually no line for it. I suspect it was probably a lot less painful for kids than for adults. I remember my uncle, who was a bit of a coaster enthusiast, opted out after the first ride or so. Ha.
mean streak was called brown streak by my mother because when her school went to cedar point, someone crapped their pants. i didn’t like mean streak, but holy crap i love steel vengeance.
Son of beast was honestly one of my favorite coasters as a kid (Pre-2006). in the early days it was one amazing coaster. then it got rough as all heck XD
I went through a "being scared of coasters" phase from 12-17 and my re-introduction into roller coasters was the Great American Scream Machine in 1991. I was crying the whole way up the lift hill, screaming for someone to let me off, and by the second loop I was screaming, "I LOVE THIS RIDE SO MUCH!"
Green lantern is just as bad as the scream machine was. We called that coaster the ball buster since the restraints hobbled you every time you rode. It's really uncomfortable and not very excting.
It's definitely worse. You had the option of something actually unique with headbanging...versus somethign not at all unique (not even to the park let alone in general) with headbanging...and that breaks your legs and entire midriff areas too. I would've rather have seen a vacant lot for 2 years and them have actually replaced it with something remotely worthy. Park looks stupid when you enter now too, was total eye candy, and was more popular in the latter 2000's then it had been from pretty much 1997(Chiller)-2004 (when they put superman: underwhelming flight by it).
@@oneandonlysound3453 might also add that the restraints around your head also result in head banging in green lantern. My bf had a headache after riding it and we had to take a break for like an hour. Everytime I ride it have to really brace my neck (might also add the only reason I ever re-ride it is when taking someone to the park for the first time, otherwise I just skip it). I completely agree with you tho. Should have left the lot empty rather than shoe horn in a sub standard ride. A proper sequel to the great American scream machine would have been terrific.
I rode the scream machine a bit the years leading up until it closed. I was probably 15-16 at the time and the ride was easy as long as you kept your head forward. No headsmacking after that.
Green lantern is so bad. Rode it only once and got banged up so bad I had to leave immediately afterward. As brutal as Scream Machine was, it never did me as dirty as the lantern
Viper used to give me such a headache!! I couldn’t wait to see it go! Scream Machine was my first looping roller coaster. When we all knew it was shutting down soon we rode it over and over (before the headache set in permanently). Sometimes there would be so little wait before it closed the operators would just wave you on for another ride through.
I ❤️ Great American Scream Machine. I was a kid when it opened and was so awesome. Even though it banged you so hard, and it was relentless, it was still one of those experiences that everyone wanted to be on right up to closing time. Will always miss it! (Green lantern is terrible that replaced the scream machine!! Hope they swap something else later)
I totally agree! I always wanted to ride it even if it banged my head around. My mom would just sit by the exit until my little sister and I were done riding haha. And green lantern was just the worst ride they could have replaced it with!
So...I got on Viper, Steel Phantom, Hercules, GASM, Mean Streak, and Drachen Fire all in their opening years!!! I even have been in the old Great Adventure Haunted House.
I've been in the haunted house too. I live 20 min from SFGA so i went sometimes when I was younger. However, the one year I was finally tall enough to ride GASM, it closed :(
@@ryanfrieman733 I almost did its opening weekend but it was super hot that day the line was over 2 hours long and I was just cranky and wanted a drink so left my brothers on the line and found a misting station. I think it was that day someone broke their shoulder actually but it may have been another I grew up 20 minutes from the park so went there a lot.
Great video as always. Growing up with Magic Mountain being my home park, flashback has to be my favorite ride credit. Time and time again I would visit the park and admire such a unique coaster that was never open. That is until one trip I was in line for viper and could hear it running. We raced over and after so many years was able to finally ride it. They would eventually shut it down about three hours later and never open it again. Painful, it was very painful.
Rode most of these during their times, but GASM and Drachen Fire hold special places in my heart. Lol. Last year that Drachen Fire was open we took a family trip BG and my brother and I rode that thing most of the day. Little to no lines, so we’d pull back in the station and just give the ‘go again’ sign.
I almost surfed the scream machine at six flags over Georgia when I was 5. I stood up at the top of the hill. My dad saw me and at the last second pulled me into his lap. Needless to say we went home right after and I wasn't allowed to ride a rollercoaster again until I was 11.
I was going to ride Mean Streak at Cedar Point, but the coaster closed on September 16, 2016. I learned about the closure while I was at Disney World. When I went to Cedar Point, I saw the construction of Steel Vengeance.
Great video when I worked at Busch gardens Williamsburg from 88 to 95 high road drachen fire quite a bit it was not too bad but it was definitely less popular than the big bad Wolf and the loch Ness monster.
I rode Drachen Fire in '96, thought it was pretty good. Don't remember it being especially rough. The ski lift suspended coaster, whatever it was called, was my favorite though.
Me and my buddy rode Drachen Fire 30-40 times over two days. It wasn't bad at all in the front seat but worse in the middle or the back. We rode it sometime after the corkscrew was removed. We could ride it in the front, jump off and RUN back through the line and be on it again in the front in a min or less. I think it's about time to have B&M rebuild it like it was planned in the past.
This is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours. As a relatively new enthusiast, I enjoy learning about past rides, good or bad. The only one of these I rode was Mean Streak. I don't remember it being terrible, but it wasn't good. I thought the old Texas Giant was far worse. Their replacements are certainly amazing though!
I love loved loved the great American scream machine. It was one of my favorites because of the loops. I was so upset when I went back and found that they were tearing it down. The green lantern coaster that replaced it was the worst, it's so boring.
It was kind of redundant with Medusa, though. Two sit-down looping coasters in the same park. Six Flags did the obvious thing: keep the better one, tear the other one down.
I was too young at the time, but my brother got to ride viper and he really liked it. Just based off of the layout alone I can’t imagine it was as horrible as everyone acts like it is. El Toro is a massive upgrade regardless.
I KNEW the Cyclone was going to be on here! What an infamous coaster. The guy who made it had no idea what he was doing, and when it was made there were little to no rules for coasters.
I'm surprised Batman & Robin: The Chiller wasn't on here. The technical issues with that one were so bad that the Batman side was rarely open, and the LIMs on both sides kept needing replacements a few times a year. To add salt to the wound, the coaster was open only one day in its debut season for maintenance problems!
@Insane Critic 2 :-( That's too bad. It looked like it would have been awesome structure-wise. (Then again, it probably would have been unbearably loud for me. I've been to SFSTL, and just standing near Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast was painful. The Chiller had the same motor design and track shape, by the same company.
@@roguelead72 That happened to the Robin side in 2004 (partially upside-down) during a power outage. The Chiller COULD have had more of those types of incidents, but I don't know for sure. That was the only notable one. The main problem was technical/mechanical unreliability.
Ooh I remember viper. I never got to ride it though since I was only kiddie coaster age when it closed. Thankfully El Torro is there now. Also I didn't realize how many hated coasters used to be in my area!!
Have to take issue with your bit on Steel Phantom. It was not negatively received by enthusiasts at all. In fact, for its entire run at Kennywood, it consistently ranked in the top 10 coasters in the country. When the park announced it was coming out, they received tons and tons of mail and emails from park goers and enthusiasts imploring them to reconsider, hence why they decided to renovate it as opposed to demolish it. Not sure where you heard it was negatively received across the board but that is simply inaccurate. There are articles around the internet and videos on youtube to support this.
There are some infamous defunct Disney attractions 1. Superstar Limo (Disney's California Adventure) 2. Journey Into YOUR Imagination (EPCOT) 3. Stitch's Great Escape (Magic Kingdom) 4. Rocket Rods (Disneyland) 5. Discovery River Boats (Disney's Animal Kingdom) 6. Luigi's Flying Tires (Disney California Adventure)
Oof. This takes me back to 2001 when I was obsessed with amusement parks and roller coasters. Funny I recognize almost every person credited in these clips from the coaster community. Small world. I actually more or less retired from riding coasters because after riding Ravine Flyer 2 at Waldameer 9 times in a row I've become permanently incapable of doing so. It feels like being in a car wreck tbh.
Yes. Knott's definitely needs to change the color scheme of Xcelerator. It never made any sense to have ugly 70's coral and sea foam support and tracks with those excellent Hot Rod trains.
I’m not a big fan of rides, even less so if roller coasters, yet I’ve watched about 15 of these videos in a row. So entertaining and cool to watch and learn about these rides!
2:11 I can see part of Rolling Thunders track under El Toro. Watch closely as Rolling Thunder disappears and see which part of the coaster does not vanish l.
Oh Mean Streak, how I knew you'd be on this list! I remember waiting in the queue line for it one time and watching some of the supports sway in the wind! Still rode it though 🤙🏼
I grew up going to Kennywood and everyone hated the Steel Phantom. It was notorious for slamming your head side to side, and if you were wearing earrings it could seriously cause some bleeding. The Revenge is much better, except for the little bunny hops at the end that always give me whiplash. The wooden coasters there are still the most popular and the most fun.
The idea that there are worse rides out there than Flashback is disturbing. Riding Flashback was literally standing in line to get punched repeatedly in the side of the head, and since the roller coaster turned the exact same way every time, you got punched in the exact same spot on the side of your head every single time. Every turn slammed your head into the over the shoulder harness and there was nothing you could do to stop it. It was brutal. I never rode the Windjammer, but boy was I angry when I found out Knott's took out the Soap Box Racers. I loved that ride. It wasn't exactly thrilling, but it was fun.
So true about Flashback. I hated that ride. You'd come off that ride with a crick in your shoulder, your ear having been smashed relentlessly against the harness, and your head banging against the side rests. Words can't describe how miserable that ride was. I remember someone asking me how it was after I rode it the first time, and I said, "it hurts" and he thought I was using some new slang term for "cool" or "awesome." He even asked, "what do you mean, it hurts?" I said "I mean it HURTS. Painful. Not fun." They should have stationed a chiropractor at the exit.
The cool thing about Flashback was that it was the only Intamin Space Diver ever made. But I’m not trying to defend this coaster. Riding Flashback is the equivalent of flying a fighter jet while navigating stunts for an air show while your head gets punched in the head by boxing gloves from both sides causing your head to ricochet constantly from the blows of the punches. Getting punched by an actual boxing glove is less painful than this hairpin drop abomination.
oh man, those flashbacks in the Wind Jammer part. I used to go to Knotts all the time when I was a kid and was always too chicken to go on Wind Jammer...I remember waiting in line with my friends who wanted to go on it for hours only to be turned away because it ended up breaking. Side note: that parachute ride you can see in the background of Wind Jammer. It traumatized me for life when I was little LOL
Rode Steel Phantom one time.....still seeing a chiropractor. True Story. Thank you for your video, from us Pittsburghers! Edit: For me, the Mean Streak came in a close 2nd!
I believe you. A friend of mine ended up in the hospital after riding it due to shoulder and neck pain. I personally loved it, it's my favorite ride at Kennywood, my second fav was the Laser Loop. I hated the Phantoms Revenge.
Man, I thought the Windjammer Surf Racers were just a childhood fever dream. We used to go to Knott’s every summer and it was closed down pretty frequently. I think I got to ride it twice and couldn’t believe that it simultaneously could be boring AF, yet still manage to give me whiplash.
Great video. I rode SOB a few times back in 2004 and remember it being so intense that I would usually reserve riding it until literally a few minutes before closing/going home since I knew how sore it made me from all of the rattling around. I think I still may have an old photo my college roommate took with me a day or so after a trip to King’s Island where you can clearly see bruises on my left knee from it being slammed against the inside of the car of one of the original SOB trains! I’ll see if I can dig it up and upload it. Drachen Fire was SBNO when I visited Busch Gardens (then called) Williamsburg aka Europe in the early 2000s but the various new elements Arrow designers were playing with to compete with B&M (as you mentioned in this video) always have fascinated me a lot. The signature mini dive loop (or I believe Ron Toomer called it the “dragon roll?”) right after the first hill, the corkscrew that got straight up dumped altogether and that last inversion, the infamous and curious little cutback element, in particular, always low key made me want to ride it had I gotten the chance! Love your videos and keep up the great work! I appreciate/can relate to what you do! ;) -Brandon Elliott Original Founder/Webmaster for RCPro RollerCoasterPro.com
Here are the infamous roller coasters that were replaced by one of the best roller coasters! 1. Viper at Six Flags Great Adventure 2. Steel Phantom at Kennywood 3. Hercules at Dorney Park 4. Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure 5. Windjammer Surf Racers at Knott's Berry Farm 6. Mean Streak at Cedar Point 7. Son Of Beast at Kings Island
I can’t wait until you come to Six Flags Magic Mountain and try Viper, I actually thought Viper was better than their B&M floorless Scream, judging by the povs, GASM looked Rougher. But I’m surprise how much Hangtime Viper gives and I’m glad we have the last remaining 7 inversion Arrow looper, I hope you find it fun when you come. Anyways amazing video!
I have a ton of fond memories on the scream machine. It was the first roller coaster I rode. I rode that sumabich when I was 11 years old and it must’ve been only a year or so old. It was smooth and awesome. I remember a couple times when it rained lightly, they wouldn’t close the rides, me and my sister would go on that thing like ten times in a row since most people ran for cover. I have to admit, when I revisited the coaster in my 20’s it was a lot more rough.
Oh the Scream Machine. I went on with friends the first time in 1989. I loved it so much I went on again by myself the same day. I found out the hard way though to not wear earrings. And Drachen Fire was great.
Mean Streak was great for the first 2 years it was open and then quickly went downhill from there. My friends and i would ride it every year and make jokes about it being a headache maker. the year they announced it's closing was the first year we didn't ride it. I'm not sure if Steel Vengence is the best Coaster but it's head and shoulders above Mean Streak...
Jason Temple my friends mom always called the mean streak, “the titty shaker”. I thought she was just being funny until I rode it lol. But when I went back this year I loved steel vengeance. It was insane and definitely the most intense roller coaster I’ve ever riden. But it was the best
I have to agree, I rode shortly after it opened and wasn't as bad as it became. But visually that coaster was a work of art, always loved seeing from the lake.
@@belacickekl7579 I enjoyed it right up till the end I just found it was getting rougher each year. one year my friends and I went on Mean STreak 3 times back to back since there was no lineup. I got off with a headache that lasted about 2 hours.
Jason Temple I rode Mean Streak in 2013, and I actually liked it. It was really long and rather boring at times, but I didn’t think it was too rough. That’s just my experience though
I loved the Viper, went on that ride @ least 75 times in that short life span, and always had a great time, It’s the weak and frail that ruin it for the public, all rides get worn over time, and repairs are Necessary, but I had to comment before you even passed this part of the segment, I For one loved the VIPER, in New Jersey
I see what they did there, replacing Hercules with Hydra the Revenge.

It's definitely interesting and ahead of its time. That second part may have been the problem though. It was ahead of its time. The smoother rails and stronger frames used by modern steel coasters didn't exist yet. I give them credit for trying such an ambitious ride for its time however.

Theme Park Crazy definitely needs to give TOGO a fair shake here, because the list makes it sound like he's crapping on them when in reality every coaster that made it to America turned out to be a bust.
Soap Box Derby was my favorite ride at Knott's, I was angry when I found out it was gone. It was just a fun ride.
Truth. Windjammer was bad by any measure, but losing Soap Box Derby was the most painful part.
I can easily say that Steele Vengence is hands down the best coaster I've ever ridden
These coasters: We will hurt you
The NYNY Las Vegas Hotel Coaster: Hold my beer
@Natasha McHattan Time Warp: Hold my pain
Vekoma SLCs: Hold my bulky restraints
The (Fictional) Cyclone hold this head
Green lantern first flight: hold my painful not inverting layout
Mean Streak literally made me physically ill. I was so glad when they changed it to Steel Vengeance. Definitely one of the best rides I’ve been on.
Leah K-P
I went on Mean Streak back in 2013 and multiple times when I visited Cedar Point before.
I'm glad that I could bring positivity into you and your father's lives! Stay strong and thank you for watching! 😊❤
5:02 it was so rough that it screwed up the camera taking this video xD
Great list! But i have to say, I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of Twist Coaster Robin.
I was thinking of including it on the poll, though this poll mostly focuses on coasters known for being bad. Nobody besides some reporters and a lucky few people got to ride. Rest assured though, Twist Coaster Robin will get its very own video :) .
Silvarret, TCR was a good ride. Just because it is closed doesn’t mean it’s bad
Kevin Lahr, yeah, it had a crash. That’s why it closed. No one ever complained about the actual experience
Kevin Lahr, hmm I can’t find the POV your talking about. Link? I heard it was good.
Kevin Lahr, also just because a coaster is in a country of bad coasters doesn’t mean it itself is bad
You're one of the lucky ones, champ
I remember waiting in line for almost two hours to ride the GASM in its opening season. Ah the good old days at Great Adventure.
I live near Kings Island, never got to ride Son of Beast but both The Beast and Banshee are sick coasters.
Cedar point and kings island are my favorite parks, since live in Sandusky I go to Cedar Point often.
Both parks have amazing coasters
I'm in Toledo, so obviously Cedar Point is my favorite.
Cedar point rules
Why did I read this as "Top 10 Infamous Duct Tape Roller Coasters"
Daniel why is this not a pinned comment😂
Tbh I wanted to see some of those
My question is has Mean Streak Henry ever rode steel vengeance
Coaster Clutch Same. How’s Henry doing nowadays?
Well no crap I’m sure he got first dips on it opening day lmao
I've heard somewhere that he did
TATSUUUUUWOOP
@@robyndabank2140 Oh no no
I went to Cedar Point ONCE in 2013 and I can still remember how painful Mean Streak was. Couldn't remember the name of it, though. Just remembered, "that one big wooden coaster than f*cked me up."
I had to rewind this like 10 times to see the former SOB footprint. I had no idea Banshee took up so little of it
Steel Vengeance and Rougarou are great upgrades to the old coasters.
Never rode it again.
cerulee I miss mean streak:( I also LOVED Mantis honestly, but understand the feet pain
So proud my hometown holds the #1 spot 😂😂😂 For real though, Son of Beast was rough af and painful. Definitely unforgettable
The loop is the only smooth part
what about "Top 10 GOOD Defunct Roller Coasters" featuring Dragon Challenge and Volcano The Blast Coaster
Big Bad Wolf would probably take number 1.
The original Bat could be as well.
Just hearing about that makes me hurt
And I’m a girl
I actually like Viper because of the aesthetic...
Regarding the Great American Scream Machine; you can also see the loop remnant from the Bizzaro lift hill
GASM is such an unfortunate nickname. XD
I've been in the haunted house too. I live 20 min from SFGA so i went sometimes when I was younger. However, the one year I was finally tall enough to ride GASM, it closed :(
I miss the haunted house so much. refused to go on the viper do you know how many people broke shoulders on that thing oi!
@@Fainora lol, I got on Viper the year it opened and loved it...but it was a killer!!!
My boy is back Theme Park Crazy!!
Well I loved it, but it was suck in an out of the way spot in the park.
Yes it was in a dead end spot it was always rumored there was going to be a train station stop near there.
I really liked drachen fire and didn't think it was that rough. I loved how it was all over water, gave it a cool feeling. I was sad when it closed.
The Comet!! My childhood memories of Oktoberfest at Great Escape. I had no idea its history was that interesting.
I believe that he left it off because he's already done a whole video on that coaster alone.
Wasn't that the one that would get stuck inverted with riders on it?
@@roguelead72 That happened to the Robin side in 2004 (partially upside-down) during a power outage. The Chiller COULD have had more of those types of incidents, but I don't know for sure. That was the only notable one. The main problem was technical/mechanical unreliability.
It was not really considered a bad roller coaster, it’s reliability was the main problem.
I plan on going into more detail about Steel Phantom in a future video. I kept the details condensed here, but I will give its story proper exposure.
yeah...you definitely should. Considering how wrong you were.
Why dont you two assholes make a video about it?
I'm watching this to get inspiration for coasters on Planet Coaster.
Yes!! Happy to see it out finally. Great job!
There are some infamous defunct Disney attractions
1. Superstar Limo (Disney's California Adventure)
2. Journey Into YOUR Imagination (EPCOT)
3. Stitch's Great Escape (Magic Kingdom)
4. Rocket Rods (Disneyland)
5. Discovery River Boats (Disney's Animal Kingdom)
6. Luigi's Flying Tires (Disney California Adventure)
You took this from TPMvids
Still, none of these were actively and physically painful (except maybe rocket rods).
Hello fellow coaster enthusiasts
Edit: what is everybody's favorite roller coaster?
hello

Oh wait, *hello*
hello
I think that Xcelerator should get a repainting to a vibrant red.
Yes. Knott's definitely needs to change the color scheme of Xcelerator. It never made any sense to have ugly 70's coral and sea foam support and tracks with those excellent Hot Rod trains.
@@tonycommodore8929 Its in the boardwalk isn't it? That makes sense.
I agree, a red track would look awesome

I’m not a big fan of rides, even less so if roller coasters, yet I’ve watched about 15 of these videos in a row. So entertaining and cool to watch and learn about these rides!
How to make a coaster enthusiast Cry.
"wanna go Ride Dragon challenge"?
That hit me.....

Great list and excellent research! I really enjoy looking back at the fascinating rides of the past.
I was about to link you to this video, but without much surprise you already saw it!
@@KingRCT3 aha, we meet again.
Oh Mean Streak, how I knew you'd be on this list! I remember waiting in the queue line for it one time and watching some of the supports sway in the wind! Still rode it though 🤙🏼
You found a Windjammer video with the yellow side actually running?!?!
I tried to look it up but it was impossible
Lol, right! That was my first roller coaster!

@@YurBoiCarson lol. I love them, hangtime is my new favorite... xcelarater is a close 2nd and ghostrider is 3rd. Lol.
Promise the ghost hunter cool that’s my exact opinion, I love Hangtime a lot too
I grew up going to Kennywood and everyone hated the Steel Phantom. It was notorious for slamming your head side to side, and if you were wearing earrings it could seriously cause some bleeding. The Revenge is much better, except for the little bunny hops at the end that always give me whiplash. The wooden coasters there are still the most popular and the most fun.
That's right! You had to remove your earrings before riding Steel Phantom, just like Windjammer Surf Racers and Drachen Fire!
15:03 the fine folks at--ibox track
Rest in peace Mean Streak
I love that you quoted Sir Willow!
me too! :-P
Haha mean streak made me piss blood from how rough the ride is.
Mean Streak was ROUGH. But not quite as bad as Son of Beast.
I freaking love your videos

The Comet is one of my favorites. Definitely one of my most ridden rides, if not the most.
Me: _Can't talk about infamous roller coasters without bringing up the Drachen Fire._
#2 choice
Me: _Yes, finally._
Great job! Excellent video. Lots of work went into this.
The last time I rode Son of Beast I was sitting on my nuts the whole time. It was.... a very bad time.
I appreciate/can relate to what you do! ;)

1. Viper at Six Flags Great Adventure
2. Steel Phantom at Kennywood
3. Hercules at Dorney Park
4. Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure
5. Windjammer Surf Racers at Knott's Berry Farm
6. Mean Streak at Cedar Point

Your right
Viper is a great ride
Just keep holy head back
The trims pre cork screw made them give amazing hangtime, it was impressive.

I believe great screen machine should have stayed
Fire Hawk Fanboy 1999 I mean if they gave it new trains it may have been able to stay
Only Great Adventure would have some of the best and worst rollercoasters of all time.
On one of the rare days Viper was actually running, my 2 teens got me to ride it way too many times with them.
I used to love the Mean Streak at Cedar Point cause it was so rough. Maybe i'm weird.
Same... Until the trim break, then it was rough without being just ludicrously quick, as well.
I actually found it to be tolerable if you held on really, really tightly and leaned into the curves, but maybe that's just me
@@belacickekl7579 I enjoyed it right up till the end I just found it was getting rougher each year. one year my friends and I went on Mean STreak 3 times back to back since there was no lineup. I got off with a headache that lasted about 2 hours.
Jason Temple
I rode Mean Streak in 2013, and I actually liked it.
