I've owned a number of lever guns in .357: one Chiappa 1894, 3 or 4 Uberti 1973s and a couple of Marlins. The Ubertis were lightning fast for Cowboy Action shooting after short stroke kits were installed and the rifle was tuned up but the Marlins are super sweet as well!

I just bought a Henry 357 mag lever gun. It’s awesome. However you will find a living breathing unicorn before you will find 357 magnum ammo right now.
I have a new 1894 in .357 made in the Remington plant, and it seems to have equal quality to my 336 JM model, so congratulations to everyone involved in saving Marlin.
A Marlin 1894 in 45 Colt, is a beast, especially if you hand load. The 1894 Marlin can handle +P 45 Colt loads. So you can actually get a 250 grain bullet moving to around 1400-1700 fps in a 20” barrel, with over 1000 ft/lbs of energy. I love my Marlin 1894 in 45 colt. I love all lever guns, got a 336 in 30-30 Winchester too! Wouldn’t mind having a 357 and a 44 mag also! Ruger just bought Marlin, so that should be a plus. I just hope we don’t go through the same QC issues that Remington had!.
I have a 1894 P in .44 Magnum with a 16” barrel. It is a JM Marlin. I purchased it used for $400 back in 2001. It actually was having issues loading a round and couldn’t cycle properly. I sent it back to Marlin and they replaced the loading gate and springs. Now it’s running fine. The gun shop through in a leather sling since I had to pay for the shipping. This rifle is now a very desirable lever action. I have the original box. Was offered $850 and turned it down.

My 1895 (45-70) packs a mean little punch! I *do not* like tube fed lever action rifles......no offense Henry. Oh wait, I think Henry finally caught up, and made a gate loader. If I was going to hunt Bear, or Moose in my neck of the woods, I’d take the Marlin and my 629!! Hunter Safety first 😁👍🏽 great video guys

My dad has one on his licence here in the uk great carbine, you should look into the umarex legends cowboy winchester great trainer and plinker shell ejecting uses same shells as the peacemaker, just got some wood kits for ours. All the best.

Never shot a lever action side-loader. Loading looks nice & easy to me, much like a shotgun, MUCH superior to tube-feeding.

When you say it takes both .38 and. 357 does that mean you can load both at the same time? Or only .38 or
.357 at one time?
You can load them in any combination that you like. The Diameter of the case the is the same. The 357 case is just a little longer
