Spell gems from out of the abyss are like ring of spell storing, except you can store any level spell, depending on the gem. Having access to them from the start is really nice, since it makes scrolls redundant.
Wouldn't call it super powerful but one of my favorite magic items that I just discovered recently is The Stone of Good Luck aka Luckstone. Attunement needed but +1 to saving throws, ability checks and initiative is nothing to scoff at
One of my first homebrew items was the Sword of night knight (caballero de la noche) a fey creature who help and attack the players at any time in base of their choices. At one poit they manage to defeat him at he left his sword as gift for the heros. It was a longsword +1, with a dark blue blade and a silver spine. It have 2 charges of magic missile, they apear like shooting stars, and 1 charge of darness, inside theres tiny stars and a crecent moon. Not my best item, but it came to my memory.
Imagine being a divine soul sorcerer with a member of your party wearing a ring of Amity and twining any single target healing spell, you get three party members healed instead of just two, sounds like a pretty good plan

Out of the abyss for all the crap it gets is one of my favorite modules!

Items like that aren't seen as "traditionally powerful" but those bonuses very quickly add up and become super strong!

I love it. Thematic items regardless of their relative power are always some of my favorites!
