Funny story. I was trading in a Game Boy Advance game - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Version at Cex a few years back. Had a back and forth about whether the game could be sold for the Mint price. Slightly different subject matter but I took an almost brand new MSI gaming laptop into CEX in pristine condition. They acknowledged that it was in brand new condition and told me the price they would pay for it but that I should return tomorrow to allow them to do functional tests on it. Returned next day and they offered me far less saying it was in below average condition due to deep scratches to the high gloss lid. I told them 'You are paying me the money you promised yesterday, you damaged this'. They then relented and paid me. But be careful guys with CEX, particularly if selling Pads, Laptops, etc to them. Agree about the stickers/CEX - and there's a special place in hell for the vendors who used to put the stickers on the front of the manuals, you don't see it so much now but there's still plenty evident from years past!
Pro tips for removing stickers safely: 1) Use a hairdryer to heat the glue, then peel off. 2) For really stubborn stickers use lighter fluid to dissolve the glue.

I have this problem with ordering manga. I order a lot of it from Amazon and I'd say around 1/5 ends up with a sticker on it. As a company and they're practises cex are a disgrace. They muscled out the indie shops in my home town to a point only 1 remains. Where I currently live, there's only 3 independent stores and I flat out refuse to use cex. And I certainly would never promote them in videos. Always support independent shops cos when they're gone, they won't be back and all we will have left is piss stinking cex
Yeah it’s a shame really. But the Indy’s do go to the game fairs and are usually a bit more expensive but I’m happy to pay for quality. Can’t beat walking into an Indy owned shop though. Everyone is unique.
The GTA card is a gift card they did different gaming ones over the years still have a Star Wars force unleashed one 😂😂
I figured that after. Pretty cool to have. I used to have these in my wallet as a kid with no credit on lol.
The stickers are annoying plus they put rare games in the sun bleaching front window to get ruined.
Actually yes they do put them games in the windows don’t they. Didn’t think of that to be fair.
i atually have i listed video on stuff i dont like about cex on my channel called what i dont like about cex lol
I’ll give that a watch. I think I could make a few lol. Had a mare today with cancelling my game order. Had 4 cancellations in a week now.
@@retrosmashtv why the cancellations? Too expensive?
Do cash monkey next and prices they do rip u off way I just do buy back's
I’ve never heard of these but just had a look online. Looks like they buy from people and than auction on eBay. Is this right?
stoop selling your games to buy other games, that for mugs.
You need to watch the episode before to know why these two games got traded in. It’s how I’ve built my collection. Check some of the videos out 👍🏻
Only a fool buys from CEX, everything is overpriced
I use the trade in system so it’s always vouchers I’m spending. Never spend my real cash.
Don't like music at start of video very annoying
Ok cheers, problem is in a shop like CEX they always play loud music thag TH-cam seem to be copyright so that’s why there’s a montage. But others like it so apologies it’s not for you but appreciate you letting me know 👍🏻
@@stewartwhite4695 I hope you didn’t Down like my video because you didn’t like the music - its streets of rage by the way
@@retrosmashtv🤣 No mate I like your content just that streets of rage high pitch 🥴 it goes ok well playing the game weird 👍 keep up the good and yes as a small time collector the cex stickers are a pain
@@stewartwhite4695 cheers mate. Appreciate that, streets of rage is in my top 5 of all time. The music makes the game even better for me. But appreciate you’re not a fan in the videos. It’s all good 👍🏻
I love the music street of rage 2 takes me bk when I was 6 years old and I’m now 33 lol 😂
so much waffle in this video. Just get to the point. stickers are really easy to get off too, just heat the damn thing with a hairdryer before trying to remove it.
@@lambyg2802 than don’t watch. It’s a video what do you actually expect? Hope your comment made you feel really good about yourself and you feel better for sharing your thoughts.
@@retrosmashtv well suggest you don’t use click bait titles to attract views and then spend the next 10 mins absolutely boring the viewer to sleep. You’ll need to grow thicker skin if you want to keep doing this TH-cam thing. I offered constructive feedback without getting personal. If you can’t take that then that’s on you I’m afraid.
@@lambyg2802 where I’m from if you say someone’s waffling it’s an insult. Like I said don’t watch. It’s not constructive and my channels doing just fine thanks. Don’t need your type in my comments. Go and troll someone else. This is just a little hobby for me and what I like to do in my spare time so I don’t take it seriously but I make exceptions for people like you. So politely do one. Cheers and don’t watch again. I make videos for the many not the few (and you my guy are the few 👍🏻)
@@retrosmashtv and where I’m from we call a spade a spade. You’re lucky I even watched your video. That’s 10 mins I’ll never get back.
@@lambyg2802 😇 I won’t ever forget the day, thank you 🙏🏻 truly blessed by the retro gods
Use de-solv-it sticky stuff remover
Perfect 9 out of 10 times
I think I’ve seen them use this in CEX before.
