As a tailoring student, if I were to iron my jackets like this in school, there would be maaaaany comments that I was "killing" the shape of the garment, never press it on a flat surface and never press on the right side without a piece of cloth between the jacket and the iron. And if you dont have a steam iron you can have a dry piece of cloth closest to the jacket and a moist piece of cloth ontop of that.
What would be your reccomendation for really sensitive fabrics, for very loose/open weave garments (like fresco), I typically use a steamer and leave it at that.
Hey Raphael, how about ties? Can you use a pressing cloth and small motions like you recommend for the sleeves? Anything in particular for a grenadine tie?
Hey, Hello there, I have a question that I would love to hear your thoughts on. I am going to a wedding in a couple weeks, and I am thinking about wearing my new charcoal grey morning coat. However, it is not a super fancy event, and I am unsure if a tailcoat would be appropriate. What do you think? Are tailcoats appropriate for you average wedding, these days?
Sven has a few videos that talks about your concerns, go check them out. But in short, ask the host for their wedding dress code before you go. One of the few things you should not do at a wedding is to grab more attention than the marrying couple. After all, it is a celebration for them not for you. Since you mentioned that it will not be a super fancy event, I would say a business formal suit (three-piece, double-breasted and etc.) is probably as fancy as you could go.
Hey Sven. I see you are ironing the jacket with the regular iron and then in another clip with the more professional looking one? What's the difference?
Of the vacuum boards available, which do you recommend. I mean, for me, it's a huge investment so I want to get a "one and done" quality, dependable board and haven't the means to try out the various models.
Those pants are very nice and go well with the blue vest, but the cuffs on the pants are too wide. They need to be about half the width, otherwise, they make your legs look too short.
your iron board is incorrect. ironboard should be 4 feet long & 2.5 feet wide. It should be fixed near wall not movable. Proffesinal laundry use this type of iron board in india.
I know that it is an old video, but the value provided is always exceptional! So my ironing journey begins!
It really help my suits in presssing them, dry then, and renew them into a brand new masterpiece. Great lable event. Thanks for the instructions.

Would you recommend an iron or steamer? How would you recommend pressing a suit - especially suit jacket? Thank you
Ironed my new vintage laine jacket, and the world did not end. Thanks for the informative video!
You can insert a cyclindrical pillow inside the sleeves if you dont have that special thing for the sleeve.
Excellent video. Now I know how to fix the lapel on one of my suits. Thank you.
You are welcome. :)
As a tailor for many years some one had to teach you that old fashion way of ironing.
This is a great tutorial. I had a jacket pressed at the tailors, but the lapel was not correct. It is now.
Awesomely illustrated,many thanks.
Very educative
Thanks; can you explain more about the function of the clapper?
Why are there so few comments? Good video!
Yes good vid but nothing to comment on so it’s fine
Hello Raphael, can we expect a video guide on classic leather jackets similiar to the overcoat video?

How long does it usually take you to Iron 1 shirt, 1 jacket or 1 pair of pants?
can you slightly increase lapel width by ironing it wider or this is impossible to do?

Is there a way to tell which heart seeing to use? I'm always nervous I might have a polyester blend, thanks!

What would be your reccomendation for really sensitive fabrics, for very loose/open weave garments (like fresco), I typically use a steamer and leave it at that.
It can get wavy or wrinkly. I iron them for best restults
Gentleman's Gazette I'm guessing you would put it on the lightest setting and iron the fabric in short durations?
I feel like
You like going old school on every thing.

How to iron the sleeve w/o a sleeve board *
I hope it ok that I made the suits damp as in the video for the shirts

Thank you
I burnt mine while ironing it so now am here

Fantastic video thank you
What is the spray you are using?
I think he might be spraying water? Could be wrong but that’s my best guess or something to stiffen the fabric
Thank you 🤝🏾🤝🏾🤝🏾

Laura Star. Their boards even puff steam into the clothes from underneath.
Do you starch a suit? Linen would make sense, but I don't know.
wht is the white cloth hes ironing through?? he really should have said,
He said in the first 4 minutes
I dont get it. Why do you sometimes use the cloth and sometimes you dont?
Because I use different irons. With a teflon sole, you do not need a cloth. If your iron doesn't have one, you do. I explain that in the video ;)
who else come here to iron theirs husband suit for the first time. hahaha
I came here for my self 😂😂
someone else annoyed by how tangled were tha cables? min 2.50

The steam in the bathroom is bull$hit......

I thought you shouldnt drag the iron over the suit even if its protected by a cloth
