Thanks for the video. I have a request: Could you make a somewhat longer (slower paced) video about the Numbers in Gen 1:1? Maybe with a few more number 'coincidences' and a better, but still quick, explanation of the 1 to 9 number grid? And also name it something more generic, without a reference to the BOOK, since this site censers the title of the video. I have to say something like "see the vid called Amazing number patterns in the B. It was made by Redeemed." And please don't use Comic Sans. 😅 Thanks.
Do another one so we can ask for your views on A.I. Especially it being used to replace every good thing like music, art, relationships and human connection.
A curious case Zoomer: While Presbytherians don't have Bishops, here in Rio de Janeiro we have the "Presbytherian Cathedral Church" cause the goverment wants to demolish the church to construct rodway, but as they didn't demolish a near catholic Church cause it was a Cathedral, the Elders decided to registeer the church as a Cathedral too!
Redeemed, thoughts on Scott Hahn? He's a former Presbyterian who converted to Catholicism and one of the reasons for his conversion was that the Catholics were staunch anti-birth control.

Hi, I'm the person that wrote the "Should priests be able to get married?" question. I'm catholic because of both geographical reasons and because I find our theology to make the most sense to me. I askd my teacher that same question a long time ago and his answer was that the priest needs to focus on the church and not family and that his kids can be richer than other kids because their pearents give money to the church because priest's family would live of other people's money so that wouldn't be fair in some sense. You said in the video that if a priest can't manage a family, he can't manage a church, that makes sense but if he has to manage both, both are getting less time than they should.
He's referring to 1 Timothy 3:1-13 where Paul gives the requirements for elders and deacons, saying both must be faithful to their wives and have respectful children, verse 5 specifically saying: "(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)" Popes/priests aren't named or mentioned in the New Testament, so I'm assuming denominations with that kind of leadership would base the requirements off of elders and deacons (let me know if I'm wrong though).
"Birth control is never condemned in the Bible" What does BE FRUITFUL AND MULTYPLY mean? And even if it wasn't it would prove the faultiness of Sola Scriptura rather then the morality of birth control
Agreed. As a Protestant I don’t think something needs to be directly condemned for us to put two and two together and realize it’s sinful, for example IVF and contraception. (Abortion is directly condemned in the 5th Commandment)
It's a really cringe tendency from Calvinists to claim that every non-calvinist point of view is Pelagian or semi-Pelagian. Surely Zoomer is educated enough that he should be able to avoid such elementary criticisms. The Westminster Dictionary of Christian Theology defines semi-pelagianism as the idea that "the first movement towards God is made by human efforts unaided by grace." Which is rejected by molinists, arminians, and provisionists.
29:20 this is some dispensationalism level of reading into the text. What would you rather prefer? Baptize literally means "to imerse", or this "saved during some kind of sprinkling process".
@thomasberar4311 But Jesus was baptized by full immersion by John the Baptist, who also baptized people by full immersion. Not saying it's wrong to do other methods, really, but it should be the preferred option due to its Scriptural basis.
@@stage31lumbago62 then you should wait till you are 30. Jesus was fulfilling the high priestly cleansing. No one is against immersion but when you are in a desert water is hard to come by that’s why the early church sprinkled
@@thomasberar4311 Well, it wasn't just Jesus that was baptized by that method in that time, so being 30 obviously isn't a requirement there. My point is that baptism by sprinkling and such could be used, but full immersion should be the preferred method due to its direct usage in Scripture.

I was also a non-believer, but recently got babtized and am absorbing and exploring everything I can find about what Christianity is and means. Oh wow, he answered my music question! As far as modern music that has a choral focus, you should check out BBSO (Biserica Baptista Speranta Oradea) - They are a large baptist church in Romania that actually does modern music *with* a choir. In some cases a *very* large choir. A couple of my favorites from them are "Sfant esti Doamne" and "Cantecul Placut"
I may have missed a part of your argument, but you seem to forget all the passage where worship was with many instruments or a single person singing. The choirs of angels are not a prescriptive passage for how worship should be done. It seems very reductive to think that its the way worship should be.
Wonderful video Zoomer! But I do want to point out that the mention of St. Cyril of Jerusalem as a proponent of Sola Scriptura is kinda funny, seeing as he advocated for praying for the dead and seeking the intercession of saints. I also would like to point out that he could hold to the view accepted by many Catholics that Scripture contains things that are found in Sacred Tradition in a less developed way, like the Immaculate Conception. This view is called the Material Sufficiency of Scripture (Everything found in Sacred Tradition is found in Scripture and vice versa).
Hi! As a presbyterian, I would have to disagree with your stance about CCM. While I agree hymns and choral praise is amazing in its own right, the purpose of CCM and the reason it is written in the way it is (like with one voice as you mentioned) is for the congregation to praise. As a member of my own church's team, we learn repeatedly that when we lead praise, we are not the focal point. God is. CCM is written in a very simplistic (almost boring in a sense) style so that the congregation can sing as a united voice together towards God. The priority is on the lyrics and not the "music" behind it. The music is supplemental, if we put too much focus on the music, we end up worship the music and not God. (of course, we should make good music, I'm not saying we shouldn't) When I start listening (or preparing songs to lead the congregation), I'm less concerned about the music itself, but the message and lyrics. This is not to discredit choral music, though. I think it is beautiful in its own right and should be celebrate (having been in a church choir myself). One key thing I would like add is that praise isn't even always singing. As a matter of fact, I think it's a common misconception to equate singing and praise. Praising God can be through our actions, our prayers, our thoughts, etc. Remember, God looks at the heart and not the outward experience, so to judge a certain genre of music to be "bad" for the sake of calling it bad is a gross misinterpretation of the beauty of praise itself. That being said (if you read this far), I love your videos and I learned a lot from your channel. I always look forward to your uploads :D
Well said. I've never understood the position of those who think CCM is inherently bad. Church choir music is also pretty simple and formulaic and really not that different from praise band songs in that respect. Zoomer always says that CCM is "just bad" and hardly gives a concrete reason why.
@@thederpyunicorn306 the main difference and reason he said in the video was that choral music would be “closer” to the praise that was talked about in the book of Revelation. That there are multiple voices praising at once, and then he claimed that CCM is bad cause it’s usually just one voice, but like I said, the reason it’s one voice is: 1. Because it is easy to follow along so the whole congregation can praise together (so his point about one voice is more of a strawman than anything) 2. So the lyrics are clear. Again, the lyrics are inherently more important than the music itself because it actually holds the meaning, WHO and WHY we’re praising.
CCM is just bad though, on the whole. It has the most predictable clichés, musical and lyrical, and the words are generally ill-thought out and technically poor attempts at poetry, strings of barely-integrated rehashed nice ideas in place of evocative coherent imagery. It neednt be so but we're living in the shallowest of days and CCM for whatever reasons can't escape that. OTOH, what do you do if your liturgy suggests a sung version of a particular Psalm? Do you have a version on hand with a known tune? Probably not, because CCM songs are not interchangeable. In a hymnal, you would typically have two or three options for each Psalm or hymn so your congregation can probably sing 80% off the hymns without knowing them beforehand. This means you can integrate your hymns with the readings and preaching to create an orderly service. There is also a much more mature breadth of focus in traditional hymnody which includes the whole Christian experience like struggles, doubts, trials of many kinds, hymns for liturgical seasons, and doctrinal hymns, none of which I have seen in any great measure at CCM-only churches, including two Anglican ones surprisingly. In other words, CCM is more than merely song style, it practically dictates other aspects of divine worship by blocking off options. Obviously CCM can be done more reverently and adult than its worst examples but it does lend itself to excessive emotionalism and shallowness in a way which traditional Church music can't rival. Some would regard that as a positive as it is an outpouring of pure (mindless) praise. I never could bring myself to be convinced.
@@LeoRegum i agree with some of your points, however, i think you’re downplaying too heavily on many of the songs’ lyrical work. Personally, my team is very adamant about analyzing the lyrics of every song we choose (whether it be hymns or CCM). Many CCM songwriters are very attentive to biblical references (to the psalms or otherwise) and is able to convey an important message well to the congregation as well as be part of our worship to God. We also exclude songs with shallow lyrics or lyrics that are close to being heretical. People seem to always downplay the lyrical thought put into these songs. I don’t think CCM should be the only worship in Churches. My church also uses many hymns and both are useful. Reiterating what i said in my comment, God is much less concerned about what we use to worship than the heart behind it. Which brings us to your next point about emotion. I personally have a bit of the same gripe as you about this (because it’s easy to get emotional because of the music and not the lyrics), but this could also be said about hymns at times. Personally, I think at the end of the day, God can let us get emotional to feel His presence (but it shouldn’t be the reason for the singing)
1:14:30 That is what happens in my friend's church. I attended a few services of preperationf for the communion. It was very interesting. I think they only do it twice a year.
My idea for a united church would be like a "federal" institution with a dogma that states the core beliefs of Christianity (basef on the scriptures) and then a secondary dogma more inferior that has to be decided by the physical church and it cannot contradict the primary dogma
20:40 this is absolutely the case for me, your videos have reignited my faith and made me take it more seriously, although I am no presbysterian but a roman catholic

21:40-22:50 This was excellent man. I’ve had more than a few debates about this with my Orthodox coworker. He is in favor of total Christian pacifism, and as a Protestant Christian myself I agree with a lot of his points, but sometimes we just have no choice, and due to our flawed nature we do indeed have people who’s job it is to restrain and punish the evil that humans do to each other and onto our most important institutions. Why would God condemn someone whose job it was to employ controlled violence to protect fellow citizens or fight for the protection of the places they live in? I always had a hard time giving a purely Christian answer about this but your commentary helped out a lot.
I don't think the "elitist" angle is doing you any favors. So-called elites are in no way better, smarter, or more qualified to do anything than the average layperson. James 2 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. 2 For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, 3 and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” 4 have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called? Mark 12 38 And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces 39 and have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, 40 who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
Another relatively modern absolute wonder of a hymn is "Thine be the Glory", originally "A toi la gloire" from the Swiss Reformed pastor Edmond-Louis Budry, taking the melody of Haendel's Judas Maccabeus "See the conqu'ring hero"
1:43:50 this is EXACTELY what I used to do in school and what I thought as well! Just like in Schrödinger's cat, when you don't know don't know the test result yet, your prayer can still affect God's decision on your grade.
I wouldn't say "affect God's decision" cuz nothing can affect God, but it still can be a contributing factor or secondary cause to the result God already decided
Yes that is true. I should have worded it differently. I think of prayer as already accounted for in God's decree. The same way Abraham in Gen 18 "changed" God's decision about Sodom. On another topic: Have you seen the Olympia proposal "POL-01" in the PCUSA? @@redeemedzoomer6053

38:49 God is indisputably a monarch. Democracies run the risk of decrying God as a tyrant because he won't let the people do what they want. On the other hand, human monarchs have a habit of trying to usurp God's throne, and the idea that Christians should exercise servant leadership lends itself to democracy in Earthly affairs. Further original sin guarantees that all earthly leaders will be sinful, and democracy puts many sinful leaders in competition with each other rather than allowing one sinful leader to have his way.

Redeemed Zoomer, any chance you could one day do a video on the Jesus People Movement of the ‘60s/‘70s? It was the Christian extension of the hippie movement, and to my knowledge had a major impact on many of today’s left-wing and right-wing Evangelical Christian groups, from Baptists to Pentecostals to others. Hi! great video, I have some notes/questions tho. Women dont only use birth control to sleep around if theyre single, a lot of them use it to manage periods btw,. And also, why is it wrong not to have kids?
Also, some women need to take medication, which may affect fertility, to treat certain illnesses such as endometriosis (from what I've heard). In that scenario, birth control shouldn't be considered sinful
35:58 we like this idea not because we are ignorant of your beliefs, but rather it shows us how to show those in that religion our differences and study their wrongs. Please do it now?
If being fully submerged in water during baptism relates to times in which people did not have favor with God, I find it strange that God would choose the moment in which His son has just been baptized by submersion to announce Jesus as His son with whom He is well pleased.
@@jaihummel5057 In Matthew 3:16 it says, “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.” I take “went up out of the water” to mean he rose from immersion in water and I don’t think it quite fits him being sprinkled.
@@Wise_MonkeyYou can take it however you wish, friend, it doesn't necessarily make it so. Philip and the Eunuch both 'went down' and 'came up from' the water. How many of them were submerged?

Redeem Zoomer from the bottom of my heart and my soul I really hope one day you reconsider your stance on iconoclasm. I understand where you're coming from cuz I used to be like that but sensory reading the Old Testament and putting some things in perspective. I've come to not be that. And I think you fundamentally misunderstand what monastic means and what it means to be a monk. I would applaud you to go to a orthodox Monastery and talk to some of the monks there about what it means. Cuz it's very different than the way you said it.
One problem with the NIV is that it does not offer the Deuterocanon in any form. The ESV has editions available with the Apocrypha. Thus, your fiancée wins the argument.
47:40 it's also helpful to note that baptising "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" wasn't intended to create a baptism "formula", in the sense that when you are baptised those words must be spoken. If you receive the Christian baptism, you were baptised "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit," not the other way around. This helps to explain the verse in Acts where the apostles only baptised in the name of Christ -- the apostles didn't baptise anyone wrongly, because the Great Commission wasn't creating a formula for baptism. We only see the development of the baptism formula later in the early Church as the different Christological heresies began sprouting. The true Church began saying "you are baptised in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" to establish that the baptised person was indeed receiving the true Christian baptism. Before the Christological heresies, the baptism formula wasn't used because the Great Commission wasn't establishing it. This clears up the tension between the two passages pretty neatly. With Mormonism etc. around the place, it's still helpful for us to use the baptism formula to clarify that we baptise in the Triune name of God. In the New Testament, before heresies came around, the baptism formula was therefore not needed.
Hey Zoomer, I've got a question. I've been writing a little story as a passion project that takes a biblical setting, and I'm intending on being as accurate as I can within the limits of my own creative liberties. So I've been having to do some deeper research into the Christian religion. And I would suppose that delving into so much information, along with my strong attachment to the characters I'm making, I've had a sort of spiritual awakening. But how would I know if my faith is genuine? That I'm not tricking myself. I figure that it'd be a little different as a convert than to be raised up believing these things.
I am still waiting for RZ to explain how the church will regain the influence as soon as we retake the mainline denominations. The influence was because we were a Christian Culture, and retaking the churches won't turn that clock back. (least i don't see how) I still support the movement!
Yo Zoomer, Where should I go in the future to know hen you’re doing these Q&A vids to submit a question? Btw love the content ❤ Also, the fact that the pioneers captured your Church with the pink sheep is hilarious 😂
At 22:00 regarding the question of pacifism vs just war, you're dead on, but it would be wise to add a note that for every married man they now take on the vocation of husband which MAY require violence. It would be sinful for a man to attack a person, but it would also be sinful for a married man to not protect his family from violence, and that would likely mean he himself has to act violently.
Your ending music is really enlightening. Here is just an opinion I found interesting: The Christians and Atheists need to team together, as most atheists come from Christian backgrounds, and the real threat is other faiths.

Agreed. As a Protestant I don’t think something needs to be directly condemned for us to put two and two together and realize it’s sinful, for example IVF and contraception. (Abortion is directly condemned in the 5th Commandment)
@@hismajesty6272 how is contraception abortive?
By that reading, not getting married and staying celibate is also a sin.
From a Catholic, you’re doing the Lord’s work! You were helpful in my early Christian development.
29:20 this is some dispensationalism level of reading into the text. What would you rather prefer? Baptize literally means "to imerse", or this "saved during some kind of sprinkling process".
Then why does the Greek Septuagint translate baptize as either sprinkle, pour, dip, or immerse.
G911

My thoughts exactly

That there are multiple voices praising at once, and then he claimed that CCM is bad cause it’s usually just one voice, but like I said, the reason it’s one voice is:
1. Because it is easy to follow along so the whole congregation can praise together (so his point about one voice is more of a strawman than anything)

@@jaihummel5057 In Matthew 3:16 it says, “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.” I take “went up out of the water” to mean he rose from immersion in water and I don’t think it quite fits him being sprinkled.

Although you consider it Apocrypha, Prayers to saints is mentioned clearly in Tobit 12 verse 15 and the passage around it.
2 maccabees 12:46
One problem with the NIV is that it does not offer the Deuterocanon in any form. The ESV has editions available with the Apocrypha. Thus, your fiancée wins the argument.
I love the Pink Sheep shenanigans lmao

To me your political compass tends to be an aristocratic republic, if we use the Aristotelian categories.
Zoomer is the reason why you refuse to answer the nephilim question is because you are a nephilim?
I am still waiting for RZ to explain how the church will regain the influence as soon as we retake the mainline denominations. The influence was because we were a Christian Culture, and retaking the churches won't turn that clock back. (least i don't see how) I still support the movement!
This is the wildest metaphor
My pastor has the same favorite hymn.
Dang those pink sheep 🐑
Yo Zoomer, Where should I go in the future to know hen you’re doing these Q&A vids to submit a question? Btw love the content ❤
Also, the fact that the pioneers captured your Church with the pink sheep is hilarious 😂
Hey redeemed zoomer, could you do a video on the history of the Bible and who and how it was composed to what we have today? Thanks, God bless you brother and keep going🙏
Mr Zoomer the ending song is a straight banger!! Is it your composition? and if so, will it be put up on the soundcloud?
Yup! Sure will
Question! How do I partake of this minecraft world? I would like to add to the Baptist lands.
I'd also like to join the server and build some nice Catholic churches
Don’t be a retrestist! Stay and confirm the pink sheepists lol
