- OMG....the Mario games are getting even better and better. And now, it´s even in full 3D without the need of glasses Oo. This game is so amazing and the 3D is perfect for this game. Can´t wait to play this in the holiday season.

The inly thing worries me is tht wats the point of this if the 3d is shit the whole point of 3ds is mainly the 3d and I hate 3d it strains ur eyes and I dnt wanna mess my vision up u have to concentrate too much on 3d thts wat the wrong thing is I probably get super mario but sellin my 3ds for Vita I'm glad tht doesn't have 3d
Kind of weird that they reused some Galaxy music, seeing as they didn't use any 3D Mario music in any previous 2D Mario games. This is going to be very different from anything Nintendo's cranked out so far.

@roderod98 They are the only ones in the demo. But nintendo said there will be many classic power up suits returning besides the fire and raccoon, and that there will be new suits also.
This games bursts out the top of the EPIC WIN meter.
Mario should really move a bit faster in game, it looks too slow paced just like kirbys epic yarn, but other than that the game looks great! I'm very exited to get it!
@jeremysart They probably chose the Tanuki Suit since it's much easier to see on Mario than just the tail and ears you get from the regular raccoon suit, and now that it's more common because of that, the statue would make it overpowered since its not a rare power anymore so you could pretty much be invincible anywhere
Wow! This is epic! Its like New Super Mario Bros because you store items and like Super MArio Galaxy because of the jumps. The levels are just like Super Mario Bros 3, but in 3D! 3D+ Super Mario Galaxy+New super Mario Bros + Super Mario Bros 3= OMG WTF EPIC OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG *DIES*
@juventinorocks You may not belive me, but People in a Mall presented the 3DS and also had the full Version of Mario 3D Land, and I played like......3 or 4 hours... I had luck because it was very early at that day and I was like alone....alone with Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 (Mario Kart Demo)
What I dont understand, is why they chose to make Tanuki Suit a regular power up in this game. in SB3, it was rare and treasured, which is why people loved it so much. It was different from the regular Raccoon Suit in that it allowed you to turn into an invincible statue for about 5 seconds.
I was looking forward to new music, because it's always exciting to hear new tunes, but all they've done is taken pretty much all the music from Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2, and that bugs me. =( The only new pieces... The trailer music or whatever, and the flag finish music. =(
@133711011 I don't know if it's the player or if it's the game dictates how slow you go. The levels we've seen so far look too boxy to allow for faster pacing. I don't mind that necessarily, but I just hope the entire game isn't like that. But again, too early to tell.
This is an excellent game. The levels, music, graphics are all top notch!
I haven't had this much fun playing a Mario game since Super Mario 64.
What the fuck is what did they do to you Mario its a 3D you should be able to kick or punch or something and you should be using your super strength to defeat the bosses there should not be ad many what the are they thinking
Something about this game feels uninspired. Like "yup, here's another Mario game." It doesn't feel...special. Maybe that'll change as we learn more about it, but right now it looks very generic and slow to me.
i hope there are power stars in this game. I would have liked to see something that was based on super mario sunshine. This looks like a mix between new super mario bros and super mario galaxy.
This is how old school Mario games will look like if they were made in full 3D. I am so glad that I preordered this! If they let you download the demo on the 3DS, THAT WILL BE EXTREMELY TO THE MAX COOL! XD

Now I HOPE this game will be atleast a bit harder than Galaxy 2 and NSMBW because the Mario games are getting too easy :(
@FibrousAcquiescence IMO linear based platforming obstacle courses suit Mario better then explorable open worlds.

I'm kinda dissapointed that there is no backfilpping and longjumping :( I also think it should be like collecting stars instead of just tiny levels.....
@nintendoin93 Well this IS the 1st level. Of course it would be too easy, the only reason it's "slow" is because mario is going he's fast speed.

I enjoyed your gameplay. Just don´t get anoyed with supid coments. They don´t even deserve replay. Enjoy the game, that´s what matters. ^^

Mario's jump seems oddly sticky and non-fluid in this one, if you know what I mean. But otherwise, looks great!

The "Course Clear" theme in this game is the remix of the "Course Clear" theme from Super Mario Bros. 3.

@Av3rag3Guy96 Personally, I'd get Mario Kart 7 if you had to choose one. Especially if you have people to play it with because Mario Kart games are great for multiplayer (even if you were reduced to complete strangers online). To me, I think Super Mario 3D land will be one of those games that you beat once, and then don't play for a long time. I personally don't think SM3D land will have much replay value, but that's just me.
So if you're reduced to one, Mario Kart 7, but if you can, get both.
@TheAntvark Thats a matter of perception. I prefer this style of gameplay over generic FPS and the newer stupid releases of DMC, which stands for Dante May Cry. I rather play something solid and refreshing, even if refreshing is taking a step back to play something I know and trust, it will be the same greatness I played before but with new levels, thats all I really want other than what Super Mario Galaxy did, that was impressive. Mario punched in 64, but Mario always alters his play style.
It's not really the Tanooki suit. It's the Raccoon leaf, but I suppose it's much easier to tell that you have the power up if Mario's wearing a full-body suit than if he's got tiny little ears and a tail. Purely an aesthetic choice.
As for why you can't fly: that power was game-breaking enough in the old days, but in a 3-D game you'd have all kinds of camera/"out-of-bound" issues to deal with as well.
I don't really know what to say about this game. It just doesn't look anywhere near as fun as galaxy. Mario runs soo slow, the levels use flagpoles instead of stars, there's a time limit, worlds don't have actual names-just numbers. And the gameplay is the main problem. The only thing we've seen from this game is levels that move side to side with just a little in and out movement, but not much. I don't think we'll see levels like gusty gardens or honeyhive galaxy in this game... MEH!
Wow, from the looks of things by watching this a few times I suspect the reused the following models: Galaxy1/2 - Goomba, fire flower, mushroom, blocks, pirahna plant, bushes, coins, timers, star coins (they simply removed the tail) , those yellow platforms, pipes, shells, checkpoint flags, crates, bullet bills, spinys NSMBWii - flagpoles, wrocky wrenches, starman, spike pillars, and some other ones I can't remember at the mo. I still wish they had a playable demo in Australia ._.
NIce Video. This is what I thought Mario 64 will be like before I played it. And now After 16 years they finally making it. Its sort of a 2D mario gameplay in 3D. THe only dissapointment for me is how the phase seems too slow and the enemies and platforming is kinda easy. I hope the final product is more fast paced, more mayhem and challenging since that was Mario games are all about. Lastly I hope you can fly with the Tanooki Suit.
@FFFan3445 You do realize the stages shown are all relatively early in the game, and the early stages are always less challenging. I'm sure the difficulty picks up once you get further into the game. As for the style and Music, well that's your opinion, but I think both are fine and fit in well with what I've seen in recent Mario games.
I do agree with your first point though, the dude seems like he isn't even trying...
@daxonds1 i think they should bring out 'super mario 64 3d' for as a '3d classics' title on the eshop - that way it will have everything the same, but will be in 3d - remakes of 64 don't do it the justice that game deserves
(it is my NO.1 game of all time, but have big hopes for this new title)
i don't think they will make a '3d classic' verson though:( i would bye 'super mario 64 3d' for £40 on eshop anyday( welll when i had the money anyway)
@alienwaregamerx2011 yes there is a run button, which might be the same button as fire ball like the original mario games i don't - but yes you can run
he doesn't use run much in this video though - check other vids or screenshots (in the screenshot where he is running you will see a trail of smoke from his feet which you dont see when he's walking)
this game is most like to play like the 'mario 64 ds remake', so i say go out and bye that if you just can't wait

@AnonymousMachine well the graphic a - mm they are pritty much the same apart from the fact they have changed the animational design (not the biggest change but easy to see) which looks better if you asked me
gameplay you say lets start by saying there is a run button just like the originals and the ds remake of 64 and when you use this button mario is just as fast as he is in any other game so why is he only slow now he must have always been slow
@seanmitchell88 I for one am one of those people, but I do see your point of fast precision through a level. I love 2D Marios and 3D Marios but theres something bout addin em together which feel odd, imo.The original Super Mario Galaxy had a SMB3 + 64 feel to it which I enjoyed, but to me this game looks like it adds another SMB3 molecule to the Super Mario Galaxy atom sorta like water being H2O, with 2 SMB3 molecules and 1 SM64 molecule. @seanmitchell88 Are you saying you didn't like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy 2!? =|, The best "Mario" in my opinion was Super Mario World followed by Super Mario 64 and to me Super Mario Galaxy 2 just had so much nostalgia from both games and to me it did capture the best of SMW, SMB3, and SMB. This game just takes of so much from the traditional 3D's and adds a bunch of elements from the 2D's which isn't bad but to me disappointing because I enjoyed the the traditional 3D Marios.....
I don't know. . . I'm not all that impressed. This game is very different from traditional 3D Mario platformers like for Super Mario 64 there was the punching attack, for Sunshine there was FLUDD, and Galaxy had the Spin-Attack and with this theres no attack! It goes back to 2D ways of power-ups which is weird to me. Plus is has a "time limit". 3D Mario's shouldn't have time limits so you can spend all the time experimenting around. Flagpoles in a 3D Mario just look and feel so unnatural to me
@FibrousAcquiescence Nintendo showed only four of the very first levels of the game.
And of course you shouldnt except the same degree of freedom from this title. Super Mario 3DS is a handheld game, the levels are designed in a way, so you can clear them in a short time. If you want the one-to-one home console experimence on your handheld, buy a PS Vita. Nintendo designs their games always with the hardware in mind.

Is the demo is just a 3DS Card inserted into a normal 3DS or the game is RALLY INSTALLED INTO THE 3DS?
This game and Mario Kart 7 will be frickin AWESOME!!! Its like having console games on a handheld. Absolutely PERFECT for vacation trips. Not to mention Monster Hunter 3G and Luigi's Mansion 2 is coming out probably some time next year. Who knows we might actually get a completely new 3D Zelda game for the 3DS other then Ocarina of Time.
@Crashfanforever he has a camera recording the ds hes playing but he needs to look through the camera otherwise his head would block the game its not very easy playing like that and he still did try pretty good anyway is society always like OMG ZOMG THIS GUY SAWKS even when they bothered to record a video to show people who havent been to e3 2011 what there missing ?
Man, between this and Sonic Generations, I don't know what to get! and a Starfox remake as well as Kirby wii AND Best of all, SSB4 announced! perfect! normally I wouldn't be as excited about a Mario game as I would about others (Generations actually had me distracted from this game, and even SSB4( though development hasn't started, so that's understandable))
Sheesh! Since when did Super Leaves make you into what the Tanooki Suit was supposed to make you into?!? Where did the simple Tail/Ear combination go? Whatever, from what I've seen the Tanooki Suit doesn't do it's stone move it WAS famous for... Still, Nintendo is going to get everyone's money from this one; and heck no doubt am I included
i also herd people say that the levels are too short. i bet if one more stage was added in the levels. it would be just right. depending on how many levels there are in a world.but it is just a demo. if there are going to be 4 levels in each world and there will be no Luigi than im going to be pissed off ! just letting you know
It's got a Super Mario Galaxy- feel to it. But it looks kinda annoying to reach certain places or to aim your jumps on places/goons. I think the last Super Mario on the Wii is better than this game, only because it's a 2d vs. 3d battle, that the 3d can't win. But it still looks fun 2 play. I'd still play it. I mean..ITSA MARIOOO !!
so is there another thing wrong with gameplay? but on the other hand just play the game before suggesting it has bad gameplay - fool - and no its not galaxys and thats part of they reason that its so good! after 2 games its time to change and well it seem to be a slightly different series just like super mario land comparred to super mario bros. god this is going to be so good

The game looks great, but it's sad how gameplay videos like this feature players whom have no prior experience with game's like this, particularly Mario platformers. He had no desire to collect all of the special coins and no idea how to wall jump...

Isn't holiday season supposed to be CHRISTMAS? Coz its not called the holiday. It is still Christmas and for whatever reason, I don't like the word 'holiday' reffered to as in end of the year. The puzzle at 1:35 was designed to use the 3D. The block with the big coin is not on top of the other blocks, but floating in air. It's a visual trick that you'd be able to detect easily if you were using 3D. That's why they needed to keep the camera steady.

@LambentTaco826 The NES ones? There are a lot that I think beat those... Super Mario World and Super Mario 64, on the other hand, will never be surpassed by a newer Mario game. Super Mario 3D Land is still a fun game, though.
@BeautyBoyTV This is, what, their fifth 3D Mario game? I think this is their new tradition. Besides, unlike the others, this one uses the same formula as the 2D games, just with the benefit of 3D properties.
@sonnyb1979 If we're comparing handhelds, then yes, but if we're comparing consoles, then they technically have beat Nintendo...twice (the PS1 sold more than the N64, and the PS2 sold more than the Gamecube.)
Thank god... Honestly, the lack of good games was getting a little pathetic. SFIV3D, Asphalt 3D, and OoT. Literally the only truly good games out right now. (Star Fox is ok, but honestly didn't grab my attention.)
Guys im getting a 3DS with 3 games for christmas. Im getting this and Oot 3D, what third game should i get? Im thinking of Luigi's Mansion 2 or Mario kart 7. I need someone else's opinion, what third game should i get?
@DinerSals relax they are both good, the 3ds has a lot more time battery wise and the vita has more of a selection of fps but the 3ds has great titles like mario and hoping for donkey kong country...............

Its weird...the game's is in 3D and 3 dimensional. Its like how in New Super Mario Bros when u get to the flag pole in the end u r only going forward, but it seems like in this game u can get to the flagpole in any direction
Looks like the first 3D Super Mario game! I don't mean the first in _stereoscopic_ 3D. I mean "Super Mario 64" and the like are not real Super Mario games. I've never had any fun with them. I hope I'll have some with this one!

what do you think. would it make sence to have ice mario or penguin suit. cause i dont think ALL power ups should be suits , we only got mushroom and fireflower. so i hope they add ice mario (not the one from super mario galaxy)
@leonzthehegehog Because sadly as much as Nintendo makes amazing games ever since the Wii came out they've been a little old fashioned : / They're great and all with retail games but they're horrible at digital distribution.

@leonzthehegehog Even if they were doing downloadable demos, it would be too early to put this up. The game wont be out for another 4 months at least. The more they leave people waiting, the more they'll want.
the best part about this game is that it seems like its the first 3d mario since mario 64 to not have some kind of gimmick like water jetpacks and outer space. good ole classic mario in a 3d realm. just what i wanted.
It is strange that this grassland looking level is world 2 what is world 1?

@BeautyBoyTV An original Zelda game for the 3DS has already been confirmed (and there's still the possibility for Majora's Mask 3D). IIRC, they said it'd play more like the console Zelda games.

Oh yeah, worst name. Super Mario 3D Land. It confuses people with the original Super Mario Land. Why not call it something else? Even Super Mario 3DS sounds better. Oh yer by the way, AMAZING graphics
@NiNENDOMiNATi0n, All people like me use them for is to rip models if that's the only other option. (option no. 1, extracting.) And I use the models to make awesome papercrafts :D You know what I mean...
