i love how the music blocks make past mario sounds randomly
I really love how they took the classic 2D and implemented the current 3D mario gameplay.
the note bouncing block made a SNES style yoshi sound

I love how people say the game is "too easy" or "plain". People, it's the first few levels. What do you expect? All Mario games have warm-up levels for you to get used to the controls and mechanics. Get a grip! There are always harder ones later on.

@M4TT2244 yes, they confirmed it on IGN. They also confirmed that the Tanooki suit can turn into stone.
See, all the 3ds needs is more games like this...

Seems a shame it's so identical the galaxy series, great as they were. I was hoping it'd have a more nostalgic theme, given the raccoon tail. Oh well.

I don't need these top notch games to enjoy my Nintendo handheld, but they sure do make me love my 3DS that much more! Now a game for Luigi...I like him just as much as Mario.

This definitely feels like the spirit of Super Mario Bros. 3, just turned into 3D levels. A more appropriate name would be Super Mario Bros. 3D :p
@Guitarist500 You still don't get what I meant...it's not just about the soundtrack, it's the whole atmosphere of the game
@iamthebomb17 atmosphere is part of gameplay too. I get what you mean but remember, there are only 3 new tracks (4 if you count the sorta new underground theme remix) in the demo and there'll be many more in the final cut with terrific tunes that will set the atmosphere just the way you like it. Promise.

This game and a new metroid would be sweet.
This game looks like it will be one of Nintendo's best for a few reasons: 1, graphics couldn't be better, 2 It looks exciting just by watching previews and demos, and 3 TANOOKI SUIT (MY FAVORITE MARIO SUIT) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@KoopalmierMario Why do they have the backflip and side flip(or did you mean the side flip) but not the triple jump? =( That's my favorite jump, even both NSMB games and Mario vs Donkey Kong had the triple jump and they're 2D.

@video166 didnt say it was bad, just thought dissapointed with the lake of platforming in that game. having to use that waterpack for most of the game was a pain. it shouldve just been a power up or something.

See, this is what I pictured when I first heard of Mario 64. That's not to say that 64 isn't an incredible game.

I really REALLY wanted a galaxy game. SM3DL is cool, but I prefer the galaxy series better. Has the best orchestral music in my opinion. Its great that this game goes back to its roots, but i don't think it will be as exhilarating as galaxy 1 and 2 were.
@poppie714: Not really. Sega pulled this same move with Sonic recently with Sonic Colors(and the upcoming Sonic Generations) I find it pretty cool.
The 3ds graphics is more powerful than the gamecubes and slightly lower than the wiis. However because of the technology we have the games will be prerendered and will be pushing the systems graphical power

@Guitarist500 That's the whole reason why I liked Mario Galaxy. The music was perfect, the galaxies were really awesome. I've seen the demo, it's cool, but it's not going to be as great as Galaxy because of the orchestral music. I'm still going to like SM3DL, but not as much, I can already tell
@iamthebomb17 it's not about the music. I have the soundtracks to all mario games but the most important thing about games is gameplay. This game won't have orchestral music because it's like new super mario bros..... it won't fit with the game.

@PokemonLucas100 Well they didn't.About the moves, they all look changed.There is no triple jump,the long jump is now front flip jump, to do the back jump you have to be still, and it isn't so high.There is a run button and it changes the normal jump's distances, basically like the 2d games.And then there is the new roll move, and the punch/spin from the previous games is gone, so you can't hit enemies without powerups.All of the graphics are remodeled and new,i know,i played |Galaxy a LOT.:D
i think they use most moves and graphic from super Mario Galaxy 1/2........ which were EPIC games! =D

You must of have not played older Mario games, this is a throwback to the older games, which had very short levels.

Daaaamn this game looks fun. I seriously don't get it how Nintedo can keep make their games refreshing and fun. Their innovation is beyond any other developer.
I'm just wondering, can people really say that the Gears of War-series is innovating and using new concepts for each title? Refreshing gameplay? It's a serious question because when I play those games they just don't feel different (though still fun).
Looks like the game plays a little slower than other mario games and focus's more on the platforming, but that aint a problem at all. I'll have to pick this up.
