This was really cool. The vocals were strong and melodic. The music overall was incredible, like Opeth always is. Just a all constructed piece of music. Really good.
Loads of fans or not fans that are commenting these two singles talk about prog like being something obvious as adding salt and pepper to a steak. And it's clearly not. There's a mind structure first of all and it's mainly in the composers' mind, their chemistry and their ability to convey all the ideas. Plus there's a concept that needs to be delivered and it's another layer of complexity to add. And we can go on and on talking about how to structure such complex songs, their arrangements and how they connect with lyrics. We are so lucky to have Opeth delivering all of this in such a glorious way and I don't get why people always want the same stuff over and over when you can listen to such incredible musicians.
So far after hearing, paragraph one & now three a few times ,the new album may equal or even beat my two opeth favourites,watershed & pale communion. Roll on march 1st, Manchester,UK.
Growls at the end would have put the cherry on top , but it really was great as is. I am sure there will plenty of growly Opeth given s1. This shows that the album will be a diverse masterpiece of musicianship and songwriting.
