I was amazed by that, too and I thought: "That singer is ambitious with what he asks of his public" and then the crowd seem to pull it off effortlessly. I only just heard my first Vulfpeck song, but is it save to say they attract a well-educated audience?
I'm welling up. This gives us hope. If independent music can not only fill a room that size unaided, but also coax out what must have been one of the biggest, most perfect three-part harmonies from the entire audience, and impart nothing but sheer euphoria in so many people - then the world is still a very bright and vibrant place to live. I hope they sell out the O2 Arena in the UK, next!
Used this video to put together an arrangement I used to propose to my SO. Half of the choir had no idea how to sing; despite the "bar on the ground" quality, she said yes! Thanks Vulfpeck.
Vulf crowds are the best crowds ever. Only at a Vulf concert can you split the crowd into a 3 part harmony and have all of MSG sing along in unison. Beautiful.
Band, awesome as always but the audience participation gave me goose-bumps! You guys have definitely made a mark on the musically endowed part of the population of planet earth by now!
OMG this is amazing!! Can anyone please describe what they did at 4:54? Whether it was a modulation or what? I have little experience in music theory but that part gave me the chills!
i made the mistake of listening to one postmodernjukebox song and now every playlist YT creates for me is 95% postmodernjukebox, it's a very weird specific kind of hell.
Hahahaha. My first high school band director looked like a drill sergeant. The second one was a former Marine. They both acted the part for marching band, but pit band? jazz band? totally chill.
Good falsetto technique is a lot more forgiving for me than singing a lot of higher notes in a normal register for me. Although I do have a really deep voice and it breaks into that falsetto barrier quite easily anyway. However he has obviously had so much damn practice and has even the hardest bits absolutely NAILED.
This is how you breathe new life into that hit song that everyone has heard a million times for the big show. I'm straight watching this three times in a row.
Later the crowd singing along with the Dean Town bassline gave me chills. This and "Cory Wong // Live in Mpls" two fantastic live concerts in 2019. It's great to be able to watch videos, but ohh to have been there in person...
Their audiences are always packed with musicians! The crowd in the live video of them playing in Belgium nailed everything, from syncopated hand clap patterns, to adding harmonies the band didnt even cue up!
It's more about capturing the moment and the art of it. You can't expect a professional multi-camera setup from these guys. That would be very un-Vulf of them.
@@RADSQUID123 oh, I agree. I know there were some people on Reddit complaining about the iPhone videography a while back though. I was sort of addressing that.
You guys have an impressive fan base. I can't believe the crowd harmonies worked out that well. Most audiences can't even hold down clapping on the 2 and the 4.
i can't believe it's been somewhere around six years ago that i discovered the vulfpeck. time flies. never doubted you guys.
wow... yeah 5 years now for me... pretty crazy
Twas (accidently) at their first unofficial show. What a talented group of people.
fuck, I just found this gem recently
Omg the freak 5 years
Most audiences can't even clap in time, but vulfpeck's got theirs singing three part harmonies
I was amazed by that, too and I thought: "That singer is ambitious with what he asks of his public" and then the crowd seem to pull it off effortlessly. I only just heard my first Vulfpeck song, but is it save to say they attract a well-educated audience?
But their audience clap in time, because of Joe's Woody Woodpecker moves that bends the laws of physics and speed of sound (true story).
They are good, its the same guys that go to snarky puppy shows, the clap odd time signatures effortlessly;)
Best audiences: Vulf, Snarky Puppy and Jacob Collier. They seem to attract musicians.
Águeda Pradera yeah, when I saw snarky puppy and Jacob Collier they got the crowd to pull off some tasty harmonies

Vulfpeck: Do we need backing vocalists for the live shows?
Theo: Don't worry guys, I've got it covered...
I was lucky enough to be there that night, and what a night it was.
Damn, I'm so proud for them. Funk music is still alive and kicking.
Used this video to put together an arrangement I used to propose to my SO. Half of the choir had no idea how to sing; despite the "bar on the ground" quality, she said yes! Thanks Vulfpeck.
i love how some artists have the crowd sing part of the song and whatnot, but vulf is like heck nah, y'all are gonna sing a three part harmony, kay??
Can we agree that while all the people in and associated with this group are fabulous.... THEO IS BAE!!!
I'm always repeating 2:26 just for the "woo" , the best I've ever heard in my life,
So fuckin true
Whoooooo
Highest thing on earth:
3.- Mount Everest
2.- Snoop Dogg
1.- Theo's falsetto
that little dance by Joe is everything
Love it when Theo barely holds it together with the camera in his face.
This is one of the craziest things I've ever watched. Unbelievable musicianship and control of the crowd. Exceptional talent.
Woooow…I heard about this band from Kids Place Live on Sirius and I’m seriously (😉) blown away.
The harmonized crowd gave me goosebumps

Love love love this song live. Key change during the clarinet solo was killer.
Best concert I've ever been to.
One of the best live performances I’ve ever heard
god DAMN I LOVE VULFPECK
Making a packed MSG sound like a gospel choir : off of the bucket list. SICK !
Congratulations guys, it's awesome to see the heights y'all have reached!
The three part harmony makes me feel like I'm back at church Lmfao
the crowd was great!! everyone had fun, no phones seen
Don't mind me, just coming back for my daily dose of this masterpiece

A lot of genius going on here .
I think I’ve single handed accounted for half of this video’s views
The crowd dudee
I love to see almost nobody with the phone
I love when he laughs when the camera is right in his face lol
holy shit.
2020 : Alex Ball in the MSG !
fuxkin wowwwwwzers.
I like how Theo gives a suppressed laugh as the camera gets really close at 2:37
Can we take a moment to appreciate that Joe Dart actually has a pretty good singing voice?
HOLY SHIT

Fucking amazing
*holy shit was the crowd doing harmonies*

That's really b i g !!!!!!!!
There's just something about seeing a big guy in a flatbrim hat and adidas track suit rocking out on the clarinet that puts a big smile on my face
I've been saying this for years now!
Oh my God I feel exactly the same! I loved that!
For real!
It's like a Russian Mobster in jazz band.
Massive crowd harmonizing like an army of giddy angels... Gave me chills..
Yeah saaaaame
Look at this rush fan here
Same all day shed a happy tear amidst all the chaos going on in the world this felt good to hear
Sound Dynamite!!!
Every member of Vulfpeck looks like a high school band director.
The accuracy hurts
Layne H they look like they get no respect in their schools but then
They play in the madison square garden
Migz that’s prob true that’s honestly how most musicians are
True
Hahahaha. My first high school band director looked like a drill sergeant. The second one was a former Marine. They both acted the part for marching band, but pit band? jazz band? totally chill.
ah imagine having the whole f**** Madison Square Garden sing your song
Double it down, imagine your entire fan base being as musically literate as vulfpecks, the interaction is next level.
Not just singing it...but in a fucking 3 part harmony.....perfectly
@Michael Tee I can tell ya for sure that MSG did a great job with Dean Town.
I was thinking the same thing. It’s like how the fuck could you ever top that????
Imagine having the whole of fucking Madison Square Garden harmonizing with eachother and sounding good
Theo's falsetto is incredible. I don't know how he consistently does it without shredding his vocal chords.
Cromulent he's like Freddy Mercury, but overdosed on funk.
Amazing and spectacularly rare genes (luck) and then super technique on top of that (skill) :)

I reckon if you buying tickets for Vulf at the garden, you prob know something about music...
Murray Tocker true
Tom Nelson 😭
By minute 3:00 most of the audience had lost their note, but that's not surprising and it's still an amazing feat.
I don't know why they bothered laying down all that carpet if they knew they were just going to tear it up
Madison Square Gardens is now an open-air stadium. Unscheduled roof demolition at its finest.
Love how they projected the comfy coziness of the old band room on the stage...
why do they have the logo of Sandia Labs on the walls?
Jack mentioned at the show that it's actually the original furniture and decor from that old living room!
your name made me laugh through my nose
They specified positions with carpets, with the boundaries being the space you can dance around. brUh!
Hehe l was like nr. 1000
It's like the Jackson 5, a klezmer band and a barbershop get-up coming together to bring the Vulf into the soaring heights of legendary funk.
Everyone’s gangster until the clarinet trio starts playing the breakdown

Exactly

Everyone be in harmony tho
* Theo sings in a very high voice *
His voice is good, but his control over it is stellar.

The crowd picked that 'G' out of thin air with no point of reference... Vulf fans are the best!
When? Im curious lol
They would've given them the note before they put all their instruments down bruh.
