This is the topic list that I would love to see as he mentions them. 1. How to Negotiate 2. Manage Finances 3. Style Matters 4. Dependability 5. Pursue.. not chase 👧 6. Learn Car Maintenance 7. Do challenging things 8. Hang with smarter ppl 9. Keep a good reputation 10. Maintain relationships
My dad taught me to negotiate. I picked up a lot of bad language at school that he (rightfully) didn't think a child of my age should be using. Whenever I wanted something (New expansion for game, new team jersey when a new season was coming around or whatever else) he'd say "If me and your mother don't hear you swearing for the next 2 months we'll get you it" I'd say "2 months is ridiculous, a week" and in the end we'd get down to 3-4 weeks, but I had to learn that I have to be prepared to give more than I want to. And the important part was he kept his word AND ENFORCED THE BOUNDARY. if I got to 3 weeks and someone cut as up when he'd drive me to school and I called them a stupid cunt, i'd have to start over from day 0 again.
Without argument, this clip is the BEST EVER by Style OG. The fact that this clip is now on my FB post to my 300 FB viewers confirms my rating of this clip. I still would love to see the topics listed when he mentions them. It makes remembering the lecture easier.
Sir. When i watch your videos i feel like a father figure is talking to me. I hope you know that your videos are more than just that. They are valuable guidance for men like me who are trying to be a better version of ourselves. Thank you Jeff.
Brother you are a man with real concern for people and that is why you have the mind and thought to speak on such sensitive and pressing topics......Salute.....
Change your oil when it needs to be done. Check how often your cars needs it. Older cars are 5,000 miles or 6 months. Newer cars are 10,000 miles or every year, but don't worry if you go up to 14,000 miles or so. Cars are made to last. You can also learn how to rotate your tires. You can also take your car to Les Schwab and they can check your tires pressure and inflate your tires for free and tell you if you have enough tread and if you need to rotate your tires. I would suggest buying the best quality tires you can, they will last you for years. You can also buy used tires and get them cheaper that way as well, just, look up local shops. When buying a car don't buy something that uses a lot of gas or fancy cars that are hard to get parts for and need expensive repairs. Something like a Honda or Toyota that is easy to repair, gets good mileage, is reliable and gets you to and from work/daily commuter is a good choice. Had a lot of coworkers buy Mercedes or Volkswagens and other cars because they were fancy or in some cases they got them cheap and thought they were getting a good deal and then they have to keep putting money into the cars to fix them up which is most likely why the original owner sold the car or sold it cheap.
RIP to Kevin Samuels. His video on what your father should have taught you changed my life. Simple but essential things that a young man needs to hear from a grown man. #Salute OG, appreciate your work and effort to better men everywhere one video at a time.
As usual, great video style O.G. I particularly like the one of caring about your reputation. In all we do, we must always spare a thought about how our actions affect others and ultimately, how those affected would perceive us.
O.G. your video is on point but we all know a father advice has to reach out to the community to keep it in line. It takes a village to raise child especially young men. Best thing thought by my father. Thank you and salute 🙏🏾
My Dad missed a good chunk of these. Jeff, I don't want to be like that for my son. I know this one goes outside of the realm of style a bit, but maybe we could get a video for Dads that want to do better? I want to tell my son all of these things, but because I never got it, the when and the how are unfamiliar to me
Thank you Style OG for blessing me with these nuggets of wisdom that my Father failed to deposit in my life, because you have made me better, I will bless those who follow me. SALUTE.
Eye appreciate this video. My father have never taught Me any of the things that You have mentioned. Some of the things Eye have picked up along in My life and Eye take with Me, and the other things Eye am still learning.
Another great video with priceless content. Thank you Jeff (style OG) for your contribution to uplifting men And guiding us to be the best versions of ourselves
OG, I agree with everything except for leaving a group when you’re the smartest person. I think it’s OK to be a part of two groups. Being a part of a group where you’re not the smartest so you could be mentored….And be a part of a group when you are the smartest so you can mentor. Respectfully, what’s your thoughts?
Uncle Jeff, once again you dropping nuggets like Curry dropping 3's!!!!! Ok fellas and (ladies) let's get this channel to one million for 2023 this is positive content that need to be shared with the masses.
Always Love your videos and wisdom, Jeff. Hopefully it's not corny to make this request, but is there any chance I can get a birthday salute on March 2nd?
There is much truth in this. I'm 54 years old and back in the day, the ONLY you way learned things was from your dad/family/friends. With the interwebz, you can learn nearly everything, virtually. Hell, I watched a TH-cam video in order to learn how to replace the air pump on my old Bronco! I didn't know any mechanics, growing up. That would've been an AUTOMATIC trip to the mechanic. These days...you can many car repairs, home repairs, etc...just by watching TH-cam. It's been an INVALUABLE tool that has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars.
And (perhaps not taught by the father figure): shave the traditional way; polish shoes; drive a stick; ride a motorcycle; games such as backgammon or chess; shoot competently, either hunting rifle or 45 ACP; bonus for scuba diving or basic flying instruction. And how to please your other half.
It's unfortunate that in today's society, many people see life as a zero sum game. "Negotiating" and the art of it, have been long forgotten. There HAS to be a "winner" and a "loser". Damn shame, what we've become in this country.
As a 50 year old that works with many 20-somethings, there are two that I'd like to add. If they haven't been already. (1) The importance of BEING ON TIME. Seems like it shouldn't need to be taught...but it certainly does. (2) HOW TO TIE A TIE. I have SEVERAL younger kids that have to ask ME to tie their tie for them. How in the HELL did this happen!? How are you 26 years old and NOT KNOW how to tie your tie!?
My dad didn't teach me not one of these shits lol. My dad taught me to drive defensively, that you had to work like a slave to make it as a middle class black man, and how to be a functioning alcoholic.
A father cannot teach what he himself doesn’t know especially in the black community 🤔 I hope the fathers of today are teaching their sons accordingly now that more info is readily available 💯
I recently had to replace the brake rotors and brake pads on truck. My father taught me how when I was a teenager. I would’ve replaced pursuing women with handling a firearm. I disagree with his opinion about pursuing women. We, men, are the prize. But men have been programmed for decades through music, tv, media, and school to believe that women are the prize. We’re the ones who provide protection and resources, at least we are supposed to be according to God’s natural order.
My dad taught me ALOT by not being there and showing me, how not to be.
I respect where you’re coming from
I feel you.
Bars
Same here. Raised by a single mother and I never wanted to be my father
You better be the best dad on earth... or are you not having kids because of the fear of failure.
This is the topic list that I would love to see as he mentions them.

Brother you are a man with real concern for people and that is why you have the mind and thought to speak on such sensitive and pressing topics......Salute.....
Had my dad in my life but I learned most of this stuff indirectly through observing not just my family but others.

I can check a few boxes with this video. My dad is a great man... We actually watched this video together... Thanks again, Jeff. Salute.
That's awesome!
Golden advice. If you grew up without a Father figure, embrace these and pass them down.
As usual, great video style O.G. I particularly like the one of caring about your reputation. In all we do, we must always spare a thought about how our actions affect others and ultimately, how those affected would perceive us.
thank you Daddy o.g...
Jeff has done it again. Good ish...
I wrote everything down. Great video. Thank you.

Really nowadays TH-cam is my learning channel.

Sometimes others show one how not to do things.

Glad you think so!
Thank you sir .
You should also learn to put gas in your car unless you live in New Jersey.
Would add to the list... Learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones....
Agreed!

Nice video OG (please send me a Salute next time!)
you are on the list!
Solid.

The narrative of black fathers has been debunked so many times. It’s 2023, stop spreading false information.
Salute ✍️
My dad ignored me for most of my life.
Nice vid
Thanks!
I feel like I gave you the name Uncle Jeff 😂
Yessir!!!
Salute!
I would argue that one should not "maintain" a credit card balance at all.
I would agree with this.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wish my father taught me sponsor
💯💯
👍🏾
PAY THAT CREDIT AND DON’T GET INTO UNMANAGEABLE DEBT. Your financial standing needs to look as good as you do boss.

What if you didn't have a dad !!!!!
