yep your bike is clean . I use a old wash rag and wet & dry wax I don't clean my wheels I ride to much the road grime is there and I do 2 to 3 tires a year on a good year .
You can do either, but grease lasts on it longer. For bicycles for racing I would always use oil (less friction), however it always seemed to pick up way more gunk so you have to clean more often (not an issue, the chain has quick disconnects so drop it in a bottle with gasoline and shake), then oil which I'd dunk in bottle of oil and suspend with a wire for an hour or so for it to drip some excess off). For non-racing applications grease will stick on longer, and I think its probably exponential for motorcycles since bicycles aren't going all that fast chain speed but if you're doing 150 mph you're going to need to re-apply oil very often. With duel sports if I knew I was going to clean the chain after the ride anyways I'd use oil, just faster to apply.

Ditch the wash mitt. Get a detailing brush for the nooks an crannies
I definitely do now. Brush is so much easier
