I would not scrub the chain back and forth, instead roll the wheel back, and then forward and keep the scrubber still

You might scrub both directions better, thus better clean the chain. I suppose.
@@borisb5163 Yes. And I always have a piece of cardboard or something behind the chain to prevent accidental overspray onto the tire or bike. In addition, I try to wear gloves when adjusting and cleaning the chain. I always seem to get my delicate hands dirty. 🤣
@@borisb5163 I guess I wouldn't inuitively understand why moving the chain two directions with the brush held still would be better than moving the chain forward and the brush two directions. Seems like effectively the same thing?

What I do before chain lube is go for a quick ride and lube it afterwards when the engine is hot.
I don’t know if it’s a good idea to ride without lubricating the chain also I’m not sure if chain temperature matters when lubricating it
@@aggelostzinis704 a (mostly) dry chain should be fine, as long as you don't ride like a maniac and long distances.
Lube on a hot chain, is like putting chocolate syrup over a hot cake. When it gets to room temperature, is when you can eat without making a mess.

Great video! 👍🏻 You shouldn't pressure wash your chain tho. High pressure water penetrates the rings in the chain and causes corrosion inside the links.
Either that happened, or his chain was not lubricated well enough before the wash. You could see some links not following the slightly parabolic line the chain should have.
And linkage grease. Any bike (unless it's an off roader) rarely gets dirty enough to warrant pressure washing. This MT 09 definitely wasn't.
Do you have a video of how to install the bar end mirrors? Been looking everywhere I bought a set but can’t install them.

Nice video. Two things I noticed:
1. Kärcher pressure washers should be laying on the back when turned on, standing up while active can damage the machine (as the manual says).
2. Why didn’t you lubricate the chain after washing the bike? Seems like an important step in the process to me

Yes this chain has done. Cleaning not needed anymore. ^^
As commented by someone else this could've been caused by the pressure washer pushing water past the o/x/whatever rings followed by corrosion. Other cause could be lack of lubricant.
@@borisb5163 true even the wheel bearing can get water in them by pressure washing, never used pressure washer on my bike, if i had to it would be from safe distance.

But your chain is finished ... u can see it, when your chain stops at Min. 3:41 ... and please also dry the hole bike with air pressure, not only the chain.
I was wondering if you also ever polish your bike to prevent rust and if not do you do anything for rust prevention? I spend hours polishing all the metal parts and the frame especially where chips occur. Im wondering if Im actually just wasting my time?😅

Maybe a bit late, but can you or do you have/make a list with all the stuff one needs for good cleaning?
1) Bike soap.
2) Sponge (soft).
3) Chain lube.
4) Chain cleaner.
5) Microfiber cloth.
- Bucket with soap water, to wash the bike.
- Bucket with clean water, to clean the sponge.
- Chain brush.
You can also spray the chain cleaner and then splash it with water. The brush is optional.

Hey there I used to watch all ur vids but been busy and getting back into them I remeber u moved to the UK and I noticed the 3 point plug was South African I was just wondering why u moved back I'm planning to move to London sometime next year myself so I was just curious on what it was that made you return? Also wondering if you are still in Joburg or maybe relocated somewhere else. Love the mt09 BTW however I do miss the r6 and r1 it's my dream bikes, I miss my bike I havnt ridden bikes in over 6 months had an accident and now my bikes just been sitting around 🥺

Why you dont wash your motorcycle first, before oil your chain ?
Easier way to wind the hose : use two reels side by side and make a figure of 8 instead of just a roll. It will be much easy to unwind (won't curl ). Next don't connect power plug with extension cord on the ground (possibly wet).
Is it real ASMR? As in: recorded with a binaural microphone? Because it doesn't seem to be. If so, it's very low quality because the sound direction is an ambiguous "somewhere front" the whole time. The video itself, though, *very cool*.
