I can’t keep my feet flat on the floor (so far) so I “cheat” and do this squat while leaning my back against the wall and hold it for 2 minutes…while breathing exercises.. 🧘🏾♀️
You don't seem to understand that when many of us Westerners squat down our heels come up or we fall. The question is: how do I prevent either of those things from happening?
Your heels can absolutely still be lifted off the ground. In time you may find more space for your heels to ground, or perhaps it’s the composition of your bones that means your heels don’t reach the floor. Either way, the pose (and the body) can still be appreciated with heels up
@SarahMalcolmyoga A squat with heels up is not the same form at all! I can do that and my legs are in a completely different position. This pose is meant to be done with flat feet. I can squat with flat feet, but if I'm not holding onto something for balance, I fall. How are you meant to use this form without falling? I can't find a single video that will explain. I can do all of the stretches they demonstrate, the center of gravity does not work.
@@geekns Keep feet flat, yes, and push yourself forward from behind, stretch the hips more. Mine are chronically tight! It's a workout for your arms too but set a timer, I can hold for 5 minute periods. I thought it was all ankle inflexibility but I believe this is helping that also. All elements in combination I suspect, synergistic.
Beautiful Video, thank you xxx
Its been helping to perform the pose, you certalinly have a very special way to teach us. Thanks. Namaste.
Love your channel!!!!
I would have to say that the yogi squat is so beautiful in the world of yoga.
