Always a pleasure Pat watching your video's , you boldly go up stream fearlessly as I sit drinking tea watching you , half expecting you to pop out of a waterfall on the Amazon .. Lol , your sort of video's should be shown in schools , along Fred Dibnah ..perhaps the young children will learn why infrastructure is so very important to our way of life , they should also learn about all of the other services underground , gas, electric , sewers , railways , etc etc , we are in need of engineers for the future , as nothing lasts forever . the most important thing the BBC don't get involved , simply because they would milk it dry , in my opinion .

Glad you did this one. I've looked down from the steelworks into that many times. At one time they used to pipe live steam around the steelworks and it used to be belching out of that area where the ladder was. I can still remember the smell! I had no idea how big the tunnel was! Thanks Patrick.
Yes very extensive culvert, the area where the ladder is us massive inside. Never knew about the steam sounds interesting. Will be doing part 2 in couple of weeks as I have it already filmed, all the best Pat
At least they offered to "tour" you through it and NOT have you thrown into the klink. Still, one always wishes to finish what they start as planned. Still another great view into a very foreboding place. Cheers.

Fantastic video with some great still photography of places we would never see otherwise. These tunnels will still be around in many years to come the brickwork is amazing when you think how longs its been in these damp wet conditions. that was an other amazing video Pat and thanks fore sharing the other side of getting caught, regardless of you getting caught i was gripped ever second of you journey and you video technique of walking towards and away from the camera really set your videos apart and it must take ages to film but its well worth it. It was very kind of the steel works to give you an escorted explore but i understand it would not be the same with health and safety guys on you case.....love all your videos pat and i look forward to where ever you explore next 👍👍

Great video Patrick. Always wounded what was under the steel works. Where you encountered the trains above, I walk over there from time to time and you can hear the river. From there it opens up near the store's area, then a tunnel then another open area where you took some photos on your last visit. Then another tunnel, then an open area with what looks like deep areas this runs past the west Bank area of the works that leads to the far security gate then the river runs behind the houses on Manchester Road to the dam. Sorry you got caught, bet that was fun for you. If you need any photos of any areas, let me know and I'll try to get some.
Hi Dean yes sound the area I was under but could not risk walking through those open bits. Certainly made a exiting day, no point in running they new who I was and technically not done anything wrong, just my safety they were bothered about. So you did get caught, I thought you would! Bet security were running around like headless chickens, and the health and safety guys having kittens!. Health and safety on site, when I worked there as a contractor, was ridiculously tight, you couldn't pass wind without a permit! Theres no shortage of 'jobs worths'. Enjoyed what you explored though 👍.

that was an other amazing video Pat and thanks fore sharing the other side of getting caught, regardless of you getting caught i was gripped ever second of you journey and you video technique of walking towards and away from the camera really set your videos apart and it must take ages to film but its well worth it. It was very kind of the steel works to give you an escorted explore but i understand it would not be the same with health and safety guys on you case.....love all your videos pat and i look forward to where ever you explore next 👍👍
Thanks Dave for those comments, did, nt expect to get caught so probably bit over confident and forgot the basics of staying out of sight, but all added to a existing explore, lots more on my list, all the best Pat

Great video Patrick. Always wounded what was under the steel works. Where you encountered the trains above, I walk over there from time to time and you can hear the river. From there it opens up near the store's area, then a tunnel then another open area where you took some photos on your last visit. Then another tunnel, then an open area with what looks like deep areas this runs past the west Bank area of the works that leads to the far security gate then the river runs behind the houses on Manchester Road to the dam. Sorry you got caught, bet that was fun for you. If you need any photos of any areas, let me know and I'll try to get some.
Hi Dean yes sound the area I was under but could not risk walking through those open bits. Certainly made a exiting day, no point in running they new who I was and technically not done anything wrong, just my safety they were bothered about. So you did get caught, I thought you would! Bet security were running around like headless chickens, and the health and safety guys having kittens!. Health and safety on site, when I worked there as a contractor, was ridiculously tight, you couldn't pass wind without a permit! Theres no shortage of 'jobs worths'. Enjoyed what you explored though 👍.
