I saw them in the late 80s/early 90s in NYC. I think the hall was sold out. I lucked out on front row center. No one was sitting down the whole time they were on stage!
Frankie still performing even tho he has had troubles with his throat. I believe he's in his 70s and still sells out his shows even if u can barely hear his notes. His fan base is loyal and solid. We will sing everyone of songs right along with him....that's how much Frankie Beverly and Maze is loved!!!! Period Pooh 😍

Frankie's vocals are a little easier on my ears in this track. He is a great vocalist, just have to open my mind a bit and listen for what I like about Maze cause the instrumental arrangements are always tight.
I would ride around with this album playing for weeks without needing to hear any other music. Smooth is correct. So much so that you kept your eyes closed throughout. I would suggest that you not drive with this playing. 😊

Silky Soul Album was a dedication to Marvin Gaye who was great friends w Frankie. These are ba couple of songs where he speaks of Marvin.
