I was there this time last year, mucho showers needed, lol. If you are heading to Hanoi go see the B52 Museum. It's quite small, they have the complete airframe of a downed B52 in the courtyard, also some of the missiles it was shot down with.

Noticed that too & was 2013 when I visited. Also the tanks and plane at Independence palace were not roped off either then. Good to see the entry fees haven't increased much, war museum was 30,000 Dong then & on the back of Independence palace ticket was printed 'available for private functions'

I have always found interesting the War Remnants Museum. Loaded with Communist Vietnam propaganda. The Museum was previously called "The museum of American war atrocities". All exhibits and information is accurate, but, extremely biased. Totally ignores the war crimes and atrocities of the Communist north Vietnamese. Also ignore major historical facts that brought about the commencement of the war, giving a viewpoint/impression to the visitor that the war was all about American imperialism, which is not true.
Also, with the museum, as you showed in the early part of your visit there, in the propaganda room it has many story boards about the worlds reaction to the war. There is a big story board speaking of Russian opposition and this in it self is hypocrisy... Russian (soviet union) was the instigator/agitator to activate the war, and main supplier of armaments to communist north vietnam and sent trainers and advisors, and lesser known, also combat pilots and soldiers.
The story boards speak of the many international peace commissions and societies trying to bring an end to the war. What the museum does not disclose is that south Vietnam and allies sought peace, but the attitude of North Vietnam was to totally annihilate all opposition in the south and obtain full victory. It was they they ignored the peace process, as clearly shown in the evens leading up to the fall of Saigon in April 1975. Just like Hamas today with their war cry of "from the river to the sea", where total destruction of Israel is their end game, and no other peaceful end to the hostilities can ever occur until Hamas reach their goal.

Have you seen any museum in the us unbias and show american war crime ?😂 Heck look at My Lai it was well know and public thanks to the brave pilot crew and reporter but look at they fate and how your govt treat them versus the war criminal 😂 and it just one of many war crime committed by your troop in my country , some of the war criminal later even become top politician in your country example Bob kerry ex governor of Nebraska and a ex candidate for us president sreach up about mass killing in Thach Phong village in 1966 command by him.

the point is when US invaded Viet Nam and treated our people like shit, but they still expected that our country will not fight them with all what we got ? they expected us to greet them and not fight back at them? How hilarious.
The reason for the American War (which u guy call the Viet Nam war) is because American broke the Geneva Treaty in 1954, brought Ngo Dinh Diem to overthrow Bao Dai, claimed that only the South will have election meanwhile the Treaty required that the whole country would elect, not only the South ! US manipulated and controlled the South government, killed millions of my people, not only VC. That is the reason if u ask for.
Dont get me wrong, I still love American who come to my country with an open mind and love, then I welcome them as well. But Vietnamese will never forget the past, we left it behind to head to the future, but if anyone want to offend the Independence that my ancestors died to protect then we will fight with all we can.
