legitimately never knew pitching machines could pitch so slow O.O also they are softballs not baseballs right? I've only been to batting cages in Japan and there were definitely no setting this slow lol, had to spend half a day learning you need to start your swing before the ball comes out
The first machine was a softball pitching machine, the second was baseball. They're likely the exact same apparatus with different settings. Only reason I can think for the giant, rubber golf ball-like balls is that they last longer than a regular baseball would.
Creekid 0106 the rubber golf balls are mainly for longevity and from experience the seems from baseballs and softballs get caught in the pitching machines as well. I personally hate those rubber balls used in cages. they hurt so bad unless u hit the ball on the sweet spot on the bat

Linus was the only one who actually gripped the bat hard enough. Even though he hit almost every pitch his hands probably hurt the least out of everyone by the end. Also Pros pitch at 80+ mph every throw I know you were being nice to the batter. fun fact the fastest pitch ever thrown in a major league game was 105.5 mph.
