It seems kindof obvious something you're not meant to step on would be made with cheaper materials. Also, he saw them pull the faux wall off the side, so he could see the wood beams behind the cheap wall... Then you see the dips between the beams in the attic, so it seems logical that it isn't a wood beam you're gonna step on. Maybe I'm just really biased because that's how American (Canada is American) houses are built.

Maybe they rent it daily/only for the videos while it's unused and no one bought/rented it yet. Nothing would stop them from building a 2nd floor above their storage area, so I wouldn't get why they'd need a second warehouse. (I could be wrong though)
Other than having to completely clear their current storage area of course.
