I've seen a similar training apparatus demonstrated, that was made of PVC pipe with "arms" sticking out attached to an elastic band, ceiling to floor, sort of like a double end bag in boxing. It worked quite well for practicing many motions (pass, follow, crossada, meet--essentially anything coming in on a horizontal angle), but it wasn't able to do the vertical roof block motions as are shown in this video. Great idea.
