    You may be wondering why there is a 'bonus' video being posted after 2 weeks since the yacht show ended. Well it's a good question, but without boring you with all the details, let's just say we had technical issues and we thought the footage was lost but we have been able to recover the footage so hopefully you will enjoy this late but interesting footage.

      Really pleased for the 'bonus' in fact kind of a treat for a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks after the actual show. I'm glad you found the footage. The explanations of why boats are at the show are great. I'd wondered if it was similar to some aviation and car events I've been to where classics, unique models and others are all in a mix. The sales and hospitality areas seem similar to the aviation industry. The facts about Monaco are pretty unreal seeming. Lots of fun, your research about things in addition to the boat statistics and information adds to the overall picture. One final note. Those models are works of art in and of themselves. I wonder if there is a whole separate (mini- industry??) group of people who build the models for several or most of the companies, or if each shipbuilding outfit has it's own team of model makers. Also am curious about how much the ship models get used during planning and working with prospective owners, the way structural architecture models often do. Keep up the wonderful work eSysman! It's much appreciated.

    I've been aboard a yacht at Monaco a few times, and marveled at all the beautiful yachts, both the visitors and the residents. But! It never occurred to me that the residents would have to leave during the show, or pay the show fee! Wow! That must be an interesting clause in the contract. 😲

    On more on "Borkumriff" - Borkum Riff was a lighthouse located at 53° 58' N, and 6° 22' E in Heligoland Bight off the Dutch coast in the North Sea. It was a landmark for seafarers and was well-known to Swedish radio listeners, as weather reports mentioned Borkum Riff several times a day.

    Did you finally put a 'sock' on the mic? The wind was no issue, at all. Late doesn't really matter, not to most people, anyway, I would guess. Fun to see a ton of boats on one vid. And yeah, I like the blue, too. Very close to the color I put on the hull as an accent color on the deck, with a very white white. My blue had a rather large metal flake, couldn't tell if that one did. Just a little 14' needle nose ski boat, but it was pretty. It had sponsons built into the hull, underneath, so it was fast, too, but really punishing if it was rough (meaning lake rough, not SEA rough!) at all. Made in the 60s IIRC.

    1- at 01:18 for MY 11-11 (and others yatchs), your video shows the plank extended from back to dock. Does this retrack horizontally into the boat (taking of a log of space) or does it end up in some fancy mechanisk that folks it for stowage? That plank os long.
    2- at 03:19, you show Energy and you discuss its "Beach Club". When the swimming platform is raised to enclose it, there are still stairs from above. What happens in a big rain storm with water falling down those stairs? Does this mean the beach club has drainage/pumps under its fancy floor that pumps any water flowing down the stairs ? Strange to see "interior" space that has opening on top to the sky vai stairs.

    Is the Sunseeker yacht large enough to cross the Atlantic on it's own (generally) or is it more likely brought over one a yacht transport ships? What is the smallest yacht size (generally) that is able to make that crossing?

    • @applejacks971
      @applejacks971 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He mentioned this in one of his Q&A videos, I don't remember which one. If I remember correctly, he said a 60 meter yacht would be the smallest he'd want to make a crossing on. He said that yachts have to be certified for trans Atlantic crossing which was interesting within itself.

    Must say that the wind noise was not obtrusive and managed very well, I've heard worse by far. Those Yachts are too big for just my wife and I. I would think that even if your rich the yacht would be under a corporation for charter and tax purposes. As you have mentioned the cost of ownership includes so many other things.

    Excellent video as always. And thanks for taking a newbie like me through the show and the process of buying. Should i wake up one day and discover 100 million euro or so under my pillow I will have a better idea how to spend it. One question. If you agree to let the boat builder show your 100 million yacht as a show piece as to what they can do, would you receive any payment or discount for that. You know like free floor mats or a tank full of fuel. Actually a tank full of fuel might be worth it given the size of their tanks. 350 million for an apartment. Holly sheet. Even if it is two floors.
