Wealthy people have to start worrying about hard stuff like taxes and tax evasion, legal fees, yacht employee salaries and upkeep cost, expensive escorts so your not alone for parties, how to make friends that don't just want your money...yadda yadda yadda. As a reg person, all you need to worry about is paying rent, getting to work on time, and having enough money to hit the pub with your buds or buy the next video game or movie you're waiting for...god the world is fucked up now isn't it.

Don't kid yourself. Try making genuine friends when you have a few billion in your bank account - and then go to sleep every night wondering if anyone likes you for who you are or for what you are worth. That, right there, is a much bigger and deeper worry than any financial concern that might be hanging over your head. Also, if you go down the road that all of these people have gone down, you end up surrounded - and I mean surrounded every waking minute of your day - by people that you don't really know but who you are paying to serve you in some way. It's a horrendous existence. Ironically, all the rich people seem to end up living in tax havens (I can afford to live in high tax-paying places but they can't????), which are not the most interesting or fun places to live at all. Don't get me wrong: I would love to have a billion or more. But I would change very little in my life. I wouldn't get a fast car, I would only have two homes (why have more when you can just stay in great hotels when you travel?) and I would never have any full-time staff. I would also probably give away half or more of my fortune to family, friends and to causes that I consider worth supporting.
When you have the ability to buy anything travel anywhere without any worry or care it becomes more hard to enjoy life. Therefore these individuals keep spending on a more grand scale to please and satisfy themselves. The wow factor is limited the richer you are. You’ve done everything at least 3 times. I think the most difficult job would be the design and engineering, the foresight you would have to have not only to make it work but in this constant more more more environment they really are amazing feats
I admit I have never been aboard a mega yacht but it seems to me luxury is over-riding safety. Although not mentioned, I assume there are watertight compartments, sprinkler systems, auto closing doors, engine room emergency back-ups, etc, etc.

I owned a bar and grill with a bowling alley! A small trucking company with 7 trucks ! 4 secretaries 20 employees all together! 30 rental properties and I’m broke! The bar barely made any money! The rentals paid the mortgage on the bar! The trucking companies profits went back into upgrading the trucks! I don’t know how anyone can get rich? I busted my ass my whole life! The trucking company I own opens at 7 am ,the bar and grill noon! The trucks ended the day around 7 and I would go right to the bar and grill to work until 4am! The weekends I spent the days on the real estate! Fixing houses and renting them out!The bar was slammed Thur thru Sunday! My only time off and to myself was Sunday from 4 until I went to bed! I worked so hard and have barely anything t show for it! Life is so unrewarding and so complicated!

Hey pal, in my humble opinion nobody in this crazy world has it made or is free from worry. I bet a lot of these toys end up getting sold for a fraction of what they sell for when the owners get in financial trouble.
I honestly think having a crap ton of money would be amazing for like a couple months, then everything would be the same after that or worse. Wealthy people have to start worrying about hard stuff like taxes and tax evasion, legal fees, yacht employee salaries and upkeep cost, expensive escorts so your not alone for parties, how to make friends that don't just want your money...yadda yadda yadda. As a reg person, all you need to worry about is paying rent, getting to work on time, and having enough money to hit the pub with your buds or buy the next video game or movie you're waiting for...god the world is fucked up now isn't it.
@@brianmcelligott6394 I'd just travel the world on a budget and keep my wealth a secret for 6 months a year. Wouldn't need all these toys. In fact the only thing about my life that would change would be maybe a house with a bigger garden (absolutely love gardening, to stay in for the other 6 months). Maybe i'd buy a comfortable car Something like Tesla model 3/BMW M3 something like that. Maybe a clapped out old land rover to have fun in, bust up a little bit and try to fix as best i could and that is about it. Having said that i'd probably need something like £30,000-£40,000 a year for the life style and £500,000 start up cost for house and cars. So i couldn't really imagine working past £5,000,000 as beyond that it would not really be worth the time wasted. Time is a non renewable resource after all.
Don't kid yourself. Try making genuine friends when you have a few billion in your bank account - and then go to sleep every night wondering if anyone likes you for who you are or for what you are worth. That, right there, is a much bigger and deeper worry than any financial concern that might be hanging over your head.
Also, if you go down the road that all of these people have gone down, you end up surrounded - and I mean surrounded every waking minute of your day - by people that you don't really know but who you are paying to serve you in some way. It's a horrendous existence. Ironically, all the rich people seem to end up living in tax havens (I can afford to live in high tax-paying places but they can't????), which are not the most interesting or fun places to live at all.
Don't get me wrong: I would love to have a billion or more. But I would change very little in my life. I wouldn't get a fast car, I would only have two homes (why have more when you can just stay in great hotels when you travel?) and I would never have any full-time staff. I would also probably give away half or more of my fortune to family, friends and to causes that I consider worth supporting.
When you have the ability to buy anything travel anywhere without any worry or care it becomes more hard to enjoy life. Therefore these individuals keep spending on a more grand scale to please and satisfy themselves. The wow factor is limited the richer you are. You’ve done everything at least 3 times. It’s like being retired doing the same thing over and over.

I admit I have never been aboard a mega yacht but it seems to me luxury is over-riding safety. Although not mentioned, I assume there are watertight compartments, sprinkler systems, auto closing doors, engine room emergency back-ups, etc, etc.

chief engineer probably making 10,000-12,000 us tax free a month on a 55meter boat. 2nd engineer 6-7000
"A lot of downtime" doesn't mean a lot of time off for the crew.
The rest of the time it is being chartered to help pay for it and the upkeep.
