Man i love the 70's model fords i got a 79 f150 custom that my grandpa bought in 1981 and im currently redoing it back to the way it was when get bought it
Absolutely one of the cleanest Fords I have ever seen in a long time. I always loved the 78 and 79's. I love the color blue that's on the truck itself. I don't mind short beds but I prefer a long bed that's just me. Not to mention this truck is a 4x4. Absolutely a true survivor can't wait to see future videos on this old girl!!!
@@SpeedBumpGarage Kent at the beginning of your video when you were standing at the front of the truck with the green bugshield you took me back to 1978 when i was 14 and my parents just bought their new green and white tu tone 78 f f150 we had that same bug shield it came folded in a box new. Fast forward to 1985 i was now 21 and took it to our local mall came out an hour later to find it stolen. Was so hard making that call to my dad that his truck he worked so hard for was gone and i felt so responsible. Dad reassured me things would be ok. The truck was never found and a month later insurance gave dad a check and together we bought a brand new 1985 f150. 2 years later my dad passed but i kept the truck another 6 years until my first child was born and i traded it in on a 1993 supercab because we needed the room. Alot of memories thanks to your video!!
@@iamkazie9401 I think green and white is my favorite paint scheme for 1978! That’s too bad it got away, I’m glad I could bring back some old memories.
Wow only 2 years! 2 years!! An your already just under a million subscribers!!! That's impressive my guy. Keep up the hard work and don't lose that awesome humble attitude your Dad and you have.
SWEET! My first vehicle was a 78 F-150 Ranger with a 460. The rectangular headlights were an option in 1978. They came stock in 1979. The original owner ordered it directly from the factory in Dearborn. He flew out to Dearborn, picked it up and drove it to Seattle. Then he put it on a barge and brought it to Wrangell, Alaska.
As a truck guy myself...I do have a true appreciation for the 73-79 Ford Trucks. What a score of a find with this beautiful low miler Lariet. I'm extremely jealous. I'm glad that you appreciate it!! 😎
For having 49,000 miles that is really really good. I have a 78 250 with a 351 modified and it has 185,000 and I’ve been working on it and it sat outside for 15 years but still for the shape that pick ups and that’s, a really really good deal
You will never stumble on a barn find like this again.....congrats......you gotta good Lad following you around.....this is one that he will never forget as well!
A good buddy had one of these in HS in the late 80' s, early 90's. It had the 351m . It was lifted with big tires. An amazing time-capsule. Looks like that stang is another. Subscribed!
I have a 78 4x4 long bed with the 351m I love it been having a problem with it lately not wanting to stay running after it's warm but we are working trying to figure it out otherwise it's a good ole truck
Wow love that find. We had a 1978 Ford bronco it was the best vehicle we ever owned. We put 230 thousand miles on it in its last 6 months we had it would break down often but at that time it didn't really owe us a ride anywhere. Honestly. My late husband and I hated it to go the dealership said you give jus 50$ and it's yours .we was sad that we didn't have the 50 to buy her back lol. 😊I would buy a truck like that if it was n good running order.i absolutely like the body style and the vehicle in general. That one is is even my favorite color. 👍
That's a gem of a truck. I have a 78 F-150 Ranger XLT. I bought new with a 351M, C-6 trans with cruise, power steering, tilt steering, A/C with dual tanks. With over 295.000 miles on and still runs great. Had the motor overhauled at about 195.000 miles. Although it needs a restorations and wish I could afford to have it done. Also have two 79 Ford F-150 one being a short bed super cab and other a long bed single that I need to sale. Look forward to your next videos. I wish mine was in this shape and could of known about this truck I would of bought it.
That's a nice looking truck. Good luck getting it up and running right. Sounded pretty good. Maybe it won't take much to get it running like it's supposed to. Good luck on getting the other vehicles you want. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
Not going to lie, I'm jealous. I would love to have that truck. I'd keep it as is and drive the wheels off it in good weather. If it's for sale, I'm interested. Make a great story driving it from OK to Kentucky wide open and half turned over.....
I had a 78 Ford also. It was a gas guzzler. It took a whole tank of gas to go to town and back (about 20 miles round trip). So I understand why you didn't get very far on the gas you had. Slick looking truck!
My Dad used to own a 78 extended cab, Ranger edition. 351 Cleveland under the hood. Horrible fuel mileage. I love that truck you have. That's a keeper.
Very nice old truck, I do not have that kind of luck to find one as clean as yours. In our area rust takes it's total on parted cars. That to me is one of Ford's best body styles and being a 4X4 short bed makes it that much better. My 1971 F250 came out of a of someone's back 40, and between the rats holes we spent a lot of time getting it to move on it's own. Glad that you include your son, these will be the things he remembers.
Nice find! I'm so impressed it started that easy! I found a barn find 1970 f100 2wd custom about a month ago. We took the tank out and pressure washed out but haven't tried to start it yet. We found a couple of mouse nests so we removed the interior. Good luck to you fellers on yours.
What a beautiful truck congratulations! I grew up in the exact exact same truck blue Lariat 400..except a 2wd and long bed. My dad bought brand new and put over 350k on it! Great video
12:24 for him it sure is, he definitely has more fords than chevys. That interior is amazing for even being in a barn, must have lots of cats around his property.
