Thanks for the team photos and the brilliant rider labelling. I can never make out any of them. It makes following the action so much better. we see in the interview that there is nothing on the uniform or even in the background to tell the casual enthusiast who this guy is. That's why, "UCI" all other sports teams put names and dedicated numbers on athletes uniforms.

What have they said? It looked like he was stuck for a few secs and couldn’t move through immediately that’s all.

@@mumofbrunodog I think he just has a different opinion on timing for the sprint or wants to use zero energy moving up, but it seems to happen all too often when he is being brought forward.

He isn't a classics guy, I don't know what could possibly have told you that. He is a barodeur (breakaway specialist), great on the flat, pretty good time trial, decent with short hills. He's either off the front or chasing the break, like De Gendt.

Ef masterclass I’d say, it was actually jens k or Esteban Chaves on wva’s wheel at first, they’d reserved the parking spot so when sean Quinn comes forward with 400m to go they just move out of the way for him

I can not understand why Trek paced the climb. They really thought they could win with Stuyven? It makes no sense to me

Yes and I can understand. Of course he is not the favorite. But still the most likely to place well out of the team. In the end he got a 6th place at a Dauphine stage. It ain't no win, but it is sth. I hate this, "winner takes it all" mentality of cycling fans. If you ever raced bikes, you would know that taking a Top 10 in a hard race can still be super rewarding for yourself and the team.
Stuyven is good friends with Van Aert.
@@brunospasta He could have gotten a 6th place without the pacing as well though. They dropped Groenewegen and Bauhaus but Stuyven finishes behind Page and Quinn, not exactly sprint cannons. It's just a lot of effort for barely any gain.

190 km, now Imagine doing that here in Southern Ontario with 25 km cross and 40 km hr head winds with massive air pressure and to top it off crappy roads with winter cracks. I guess that's why only 3 road bikes where out in 50,000 people, all others were mostly running ebikes ( flying by us). Most roadies here switched to 1x 10 setups for better wind riding ( better cross chaining). Great video here!!

If your sprinter has trouble climbing, how do your team "pacing" at the front help him? Wouldn't he equally have trouble climbing?
Unless I don't get what pacing means. To mean, it seems like pacing means drilling it. But maybe it means intentionally slowing down/blocking the peloton?
I’m no expert but based on other videos I’ve seen, I noticed that the pacer’s tasks are to set the pace and create wind resistance for the bikers behind him.

@@edwardairesii5729 "Decent climber" is not enough, not by a long way. If you knew anything about the Tour de France, then you'd know that only world class climbers can win it. Time trial and tactics only come after it.
