Guys it's not a scam. Go read Captured in Words recent community post. The cancel culture has been very strong with this controversy, but I'm glad to see some creators standing up for them and showing their support

After doing the research myself and contacting Established Titles, I do not think they're a scam and it's a shame that a video that went viral has led to so many canceling a company that's trying to do a good thing. While some have cut ties and ran, there's also been creators standing up for and supporting the charity work that Established Titles is doing despite the mob mentality that's against it. Personally, I hate cancel culture and find it sad that so many jump on the bandwagon because of what they're told. I think it's important to do the homework

That Hobbit cover was the one I had as a kid and read with my dad. That was my first exposure to the fantasy genre
Oh wow! I read The Hobbit pretty early on in my life too and it had a big impact on my love for fantasy
I’ve been reading fantasy since the 70s and was just wishing I could show current readers what the (rather small) bookstore shelf experience was like in the 70s and 80s. LOL. Thanks for doing just that - those were difficult times indeed

I will probably get hanged for this, but there is one cover for The Name of the Wind that looks like it's a romance. Kvothe has shirtless Fabio vibes and is standing with his lute and the wind swooshing back his hair. The artist is skilled, but it totally mismarkets the novel. Also, Kvothe has no instance in the book when he looks like that. He's either a kid, a young teen, or a very weary adult, which makes me wonder why the artist chose to paint him how they did. While it cannot compete with some of those paperbacks, I think that it falls into another category of bad covers.
Ahahaha a friend of mine gave me that edition of The Name of the Wind! It's defiantly pretty bad, looks like some erotic fantasy 😂😂

This was a great laugh, and would love to see more of this series! If I could make one request though, please leave the covers up for longer. Maybe divide the screen so we can see your reaction alongside a picture of the cover? Sometimes I had to backtrack and pause to take in all the glory, and it broke up the flow a bit.

I own that 50th anniversary box set of LotR plus Hobbit mass market paperback where that was the Hobbit cover. The LotR covers were just as bad. I was so confused by the covers after reading the books. In the same way the original early hardback WoT covers are wildly weird.
That’s the edition of the hobbit I read in 5th grade around 2000 and the cover is why I picked it up lol

Me: having flashbacks of all the bad fantasy, sf and horror covers I remember from 1990s and 2000s. Also me: hmm, interesting. Some of them look like a love childen between pulp from 1940s and 1950s, graphic design student failed project and iconic art of JW broshures.

I got the Hobbit book for xmas because I requested it after seeing in online falling in love with it's pure craziness! It's displayed on my bookcase now with love. I actually got the whole box set and it didn't disappoint, though the Hobbit cover is the best one!

That's the cover of The Hobbit I grew up with, the first copy I ever read. The three covers of LOTR are also equally cheesy, especially The Two Towers. I love them so much.

Just a heads up I found out some pretty sketchy info about Established Titles being a scam. Someone did a video on it you might want to check out some of the info to decide if you wanna promote them still. Love the video there are so many cringey book titles and NAMES of books from like the 80's-90's

I actually asked everyone on my Discord before posting this video about whether that comment came off as an obvious joke or if it was offensive, and everyone agreed it was clearly just a joke related to Hobbits and that I shouldn't worry about it.
