These debates are utterly useless and cancer-causing, and this particular debate is a masterpiece showcase of how shite the political world is.
1) What a weak debate topic. So, is it even a debate?
2) Something has to uplift the equitability and quality of time given to each panelist. When genuinely important points were being presented, time ran out...
3) A debate moderator should be knowledgeable and capable of pulling up information in real-time, fact-checking things that the panel spews.
4) The honest speakers are not necessarily able (or want) to, either completely derail the other side's argument, or ethically degrade the opposition so much that they actually feel embarrassed to show their face.
5) The 'opposition' has no substance, yet they're masters at joining random partially true things together into a sentence that seem true. The only thing needed is a calm approach in entangling one knot at a time. The niceties that the 'honest' side provides is totally unnecessary; the only decency required is listen in their time, provide true facts, and pick at one opposition pain point. All of that in a calm and derogatory manner, because that's what the 'opposition' deserves.
