- This is the initial Fire Up of the Awesome Mercury 3 LDMOS HF amplifier from KM3KM.com
Checked out the display alignment, functions, PI VS PO curve.
Had it hooked up to a 1 KW dummy load and ran it up to a little over 1100 Watts on 80 meters.
Checked out the waveforms on a LP700.
Will do a follow on video with some on air time.

Got mine in 3 months #940 build
I can't find your next video in this series. You were going to do another on-line test using an antenna. Been to your ProjectsINT site and did see one that you did at low power, but still to a dummy load. I expect to receive my fully assembled one tomorrow and will excite it with a Yaesu FTDX-101D. I'll keep checking back for your next video in this series,
Congrats on your purchase. That is very exciting. Yea, sorry about that. Got sick, surgery and numerous other distractions and endless mega projects. So many projects & so little time. Hopefully I can get that back on the agenda at some time in the future.

What is not clear, or I missed it, is if the Mercury amp will automatically band switch based on the input RF frequency? Also has there been any discussion of rig control via serial, etc? I'd like to consider the Mercury amp for a remote unattended setup, where remote statistics of the amp and its current state would be highly beneficial.
Yes it has automatic band switching.
I ordered one, just now the wait. Do you think the power output would be the same driving it with a IC-705. I believe your chart was with the IC-7300 (Which I will be using mainly). Just trying to get an idea how it will run with the 705@10w. Plus did you post the On-Air video ? Thanks for making these videos of the Mercury IIIs
If I get a chance I will plot the curve with an IC705. Been kind of jammed up recently.

The vid is done. Ran off the battery with 40% charge. At max drive using the batt got about 250 to 280 W out of the Mercury 3. Should have the vid up tonight. 73'S

When did they change them from 1300w to only 1k?
KM3KM specs it at 1200W SSB/CW, I have seen near that under some operating conditions. I think you will really enjoy the amp. Really works well.
are you running this on 110 or 220?

I run mine on 110 v ac it draws peak 1800 watts current 14 amps, on ssb at 1200 Watts pep output
I'd love to get one of these but due to slight hand tremors, I don't think I could assemble it.

@@geod3589 They now are shipping a fully assembled and tested model for $300 more in cost. Total cost plus shipping is $2995.00. I ordered one and it will be here tomorrow, I hope.

Wish I can afford this amp
It’s $1K less than a comparable Acom. The catch is the wait. I was on the waiting list for 14 months. It also cost me an extra $1K for an electrician to install a 240V outlet.

LOGO IS NOT IMPORTANT...THE BEEP IS ANNOYING... OPEN FRAME RELAYS STILL BEING USED ???? WHY ??? THE FAN IS NOTICEABLE IN IDLE, WHAT IS THE NOISE OF THE FAN AT 1 KW WHEN IN USE FOR 15 MINUTES IN SSB MODE... I DONT SEE ENOUGH BY THE BUILDERS OF THIS AMP AND MAKE IT PROFESSIONAL VIDEO......PRICE IS GOOD HOWEVER MORE INFO WILL NE NICE LETS SEE A GOOD VIDEO THANK YOU 73.
It's very quiet
Yes the loud BEEP was irritating. Hopefully that option can be turned off or at least reduced in volume.
