Wasn't Gary beach the best as Lumiere? Also don't forget Tom Bosley was the original Maurice on broadway, he passed way as well. I played Cogsworth in the Jr. Production it was a blast!
Even David Ogden the original voice of Cogsworth of the 91 film, passed as well I feel very lucky that I got to put my stamp on this role. I was able to say the well known line, if it's not baroque don't fix it & I used the British accent.
@@FatFiber8096 it's the not the same production. the one that is opening in america next year is a replica of the 2021 uk tour. the one in this video hasn't been seen in any theatre around the world except japan since 2010. the japanese production was the 90s tour and it closed in 2017. the new japanese production is a replica of the 2010 us tour.
This song led to one of my favorite ovations for a show I saw onstage. We saw it on Salt Lake City on tour in 2000. Ron Wisniski played Lumiere. During the extended ovation for this song, he raised his right arm and lit the flame, proceeding to wave it around like he was at a rock concert.
This looks like the L.A. production. We didn't have the fork & knives on the backdrop in NYC until much later. Also the salt, pepper & cheesegrater costumes are the revised versions that were seen in L.A. & then the tour(s) after Broadway opened. They eventually went into the Broadway production after it went into the Lunt Fontanne Theater.
I was wondering that, cause looks a lot like touring set we saw in argentina & brazil as well in ‘98 and 2010 goodbye-tour, and always seemed to me bway prod was slightly different
The best version I’ve ever seen! The costume is amazing. We can tell what furniture they are just from their costume. The can can dance at the end is a surprise! Never thought to see Belle dance a can can. LOL The energy, the happiness, they’re all in there. Love it!
I saw this in L.A (before it went to broadway) when I was only 2 years old. I saw it again on Broadway when I was 11 year and I was it twice on tour when I was in my teens. Needless to say I really l love this show.
I remember this song specifically at the L.A. show, which I went to 2x. Some moron in the audience, after this fantastic, highly energetic performance of this number yelled, "one more time" and Susan Egan replied back to the moron something to the effect of, "Yeah? If you think it's so easy, then you do it." Hilarious way to handle a jerk. Great musical. Still remember it all so clearly to this day. Great performances all around.
This is the 1995 LA company! I had the opportunity to enhance the set adding more color and elements to this company which became the model for the International Companies that came after. Stanley A. Meyer Scenic Designer
Congratulations! Make the most of that opportunity, there's nothing like performing in a production of Beauty and the Beast. It's one of my favorite shows I've ever been in, have fun!
If I could go back and watch that live, I would. I have loved the movie for *years* Belle was the first "princess" and female character I could relate to (Diana Prince, Anya and Katara I love, too). I saw something like this at Disneyland, as I went in July 1992, and remember the dishes vividly. I've always loved Paige O'Hara in the role (and still do) , but I am quickly becoming a Susan Egan fan. Thanks.

At least they kept a table similar to 0:59. And they kept it for Mrs. Potts verse. 2:25 is so nostalgic because it's been cut out from the UK Tour (influenced by the NETworks Tour.), and the costumes were not used. The ensemble were made out of humans! They also never used a staircase made out of dishes seen at 3:25. Now it's just arches and... no plate stairs and no catwalks from the 2018 Disney Cruise Line. The set in the UK Tour is kinda boring without it! You know, I think the dishes in Mrs. Potts’ verse and the table from the first verse were all switched around.
hello do you have more footstage? Do you have the batle and the beast transformation with the curtain call? I can't seem to find it with susan egan and terrence mann. :)

RIP Gary Beach.... No one played "Lumiere" so great on stage other than him. What a showstopper.

Wasn't he also Hitler in The Producers?
Oliver Delica If your talking about David Ogden he was never in the producers.
the hug Susan Egan gives him is full of love and thanks:
when she hugs him she does it's if she's huging gary

Oh My God, those costumes are absolutely divine and glorious. I wish I could see it in detail in person.
It was fantastic. The video can't even come close to capturing it.

The Napkins cancan is still my absolute favorite part of the number. So much energy and The way the gowns flow so perfectly. I just love it

This is so awesome I'm playing Lumiere My highschool's version and I was told to base it off this one
Beth Fowler played Mrs.Pot、for ever love
She was the only cast member who lasted from opening night to the final curtain.
Bravo! Much better than what we are getting nowadays!
I wish there a full version of this performance!

This has to be a try out or a preview. There are sound and entrance errors and the choreography was slightly adjusted.
It’s too bad they never recorded (as far as I know) the original cast and officially released it. I wish this had gotten the Hamilton treatment.
