The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" on its main stage in the new Page Family Center for Performing Arts. Starring TKA senior Gracie O'Connor (Belle), senior Casey Gustafson (Beast), junior Chris Pappas (Lumiere), senior Graham Popadic (Cogsworth), senior Kate Higgins (Mrs. Potts), and senior Sam Cornelius (Gaston), this performance showcased TKA’s fine young talent.
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Stephanie Revell (Elementary Choir, Woodwinds), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano).

When we did this at my high school, the money put into this number was insane. We had beautiful rented costumes, platform set structures, and FIREWORKS ON STAGE. There were literally explosives on stage, but it looked so cool. Honestly a ton of money just went into the show in general. We sold out pretty much every performance tho, so we got the money back lol

I am just starting the Beauty and the beast play it’s gonna to end in March so far we don’t know if we have to make a costumes or rent them out I will help with the rent them out two days ago we got our casting list and I was casted as the knife and it was very funny telling my friend and he looked concerned (In a funny way) The girl casted as bell sounds almost identical when she was singing I thought it was a soundtrack until I realize she had a microphone and it was actually singing I really hope it goes well because there people that we have is 88 so only 30 of them got actually acting and 50 of us including me and my friends had to be the course but it’s fine I’m not really good at acting and have very much memory loss so I wouldn’t really remember any lines I am very dramatic that’s the only thing I could actually think of that could help me I hope it goes well if you want me I could update you on things I can happen since it’s going to happen for like five months :)

That was AWESOME!!!! I literally got tingles! And the Sopranos and all the vocals were amazing!!!! My school is doing Beauty and the Beast this upcoming year, and I am totally using this as inspiration for Lumiere's character.

I love watching these. My own senior play was 52 years ago (1968)...we were a small high school and productions such as these were out of the question for a poor coal town in NE Pennsylvania. These kids are so lucky to have the budget, the talent, and the support of the faculty, parents, and community to put on these wonderful productions.

The students pay a boatload in tuition, but the instruction, talent, and academic rigor are so worth it.

I just finished a production of Beauty and The Beast last weekend! And I truly had a lot of fun! Be our guest is one of my favorite parts to perform in! Especially when we get to the showstopper finale of the song!

I got the casting list for mine Two days ago I was really auditioning for Mrs. Potts and I really want to be with mrs.Potts but I got a knife though we are going to be dancing and singing which is good because I don’t have to do it for much I only have to sing it two songs and that’s good for me even though I’m very dramatic person and can probably act well I have very terrible memory lost I can barely remember stuff so I’m kind of glad I didn’t get mrs.Potts :) also it’s bend 3 months did you Lumiere?

I’m playing Lumière’s understudy for my school play and Tomorrow we’re gonna have an understudy show where the understudy’s and the originals are gonna switch places and I’m really nervous about singing this tomorrow cause I had missed the understudy rehearsals where I sing this song so my fist time singing this song will be on a LIVE STAGE. Here’s an interesting thing. I’m doing a short film which is going to be the alternative version to Avengers Endgame. It’s gonna be an alternate ending where both Black Widow and Iron Man survive Endgame. War Machine(who has been changed to a woman in this version as Christine Rhodes) uses the Infinity Stones and steals them from Thanos and defeats him but at the cost of her own life. War Machine will be portrayed by Mrs. Potts while Thor will be portrayed by Lumiere. I will be uploading the film to my channel after it is complete.
