    Some fans say that this film is the “true” adaptation of the original JP novel, from the themes, the plot points, characterization, and the generally darker and less whimsical tone, etc. Which I would have to agree w/, in a way. The bit w/ Dr. Wu trying to explain his work and vision of “perfecting” the dinosaurs to the cold businessman w/ no sense of vision other than for money is pretty much lifted right from the book. Even the island exploding and the dinosaurs finding their way to the mainland are from the original book. So there’s that I guess.

    • @legendary5733
      @legendary5733 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      If you want a "true" adaption from the book. Just do a reboot and rate it R then we got ourselves a true adaption.

      @@legendary5733 exactly. Rate it R if you want a true book adaptation. The books were horrifying at some parts. Like pure nightmare fuel lol

    • @totchi6
      @totchi6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@legendary5733 I thinks that's a bit...silly. If you want the book adaptation right it's not about the gore, it's about killing the right people the right way. It's about giving the raptors the right storyline, let alone all the other dinosaurs, letting Hammond be the monster he was, letting the secondary characters have their proper motivations and endings. And then remaking the Lost World and combining it with part 3 in the process, since what the movies did was basically make a mishmash of the two books. Rebooting with an R rating, are you kidding me? Literally all you're asking for is more gore, and theoretically you could make the movies accurate to the books with NO gore if you wanted to be prudish and do a lot of scene cutting to characters grimacing. Seriously that's your solution to book accuracy?

    Fun fact, the Dino that appeared in the sewer-like section with Claire and the need dude is one of my favorites, the Baryonyx, who’s really cool. It’s a predator who can both run on land and swim well which is helpful since it’s main prey is fish. Also, I love how they made it use its long, alligator-like mouth to try and reach Claire and the guy up in the duct shaft

      The Carnotaurous is another of my 3 favorites and it was kinda shocking to me that it got some screen time, even if only brief. Sadly, my #1 didn’t show up, but that’s because it’s aquatic, that being the Dunkleosteus, which lived deep in the water in caves and have armor-like plates on their face

    That Dinosaur that made you go "Woah! Woah, woah, woah!"? That is Carnotaurus (meaning "Meat-Eating Bull"). He's from South America, and is one of that continent's most iconic Dinosaurs ever discovered there. This is actually NOT its first appearance in the Jurassic Park/World franchise. It first appears in the Lost World novel, and there it has a very interesting ability: It can change color and camouflage like a chameleon. It was doing that LONG before Indominus was even an idea!

    Also, it's still my personal hope that in the 3rd movie, Claire and Owen have adopted Maisie.

    This movie is criminally underrated, heavily misunderstood by general audiences and is by far the most overhated movie I've ever witnessed. I didn't hate this movie even though not all people disliked it, I actually loved it. I know it had some flaws, but ever since I was a huge Jurassic fan, I'm smart enough to know the details in every scene this entire movie that even Klayton Fioriti knows this movie than we do. If people like it or not, that's fine, but what really grinds my gears is how people misinterpret every scene that was already answered or defended by the fans of the franchise.

    I think movie got too harsh judgement when it first came out. Well, it didn't seem to stop it making a billion dollars. I think the movie did a good job making something else of the franchise, especially when they wanted the third part to be something totally different than another theme park adventure. I also loved the gothic horror elements in the mansion.

    honestly i like the movie as it shows a lot of moral dilema's going on even in our real world (about cloning). At the end they at first kept the gate closed as it would be the right thing to do, but a child who can identify as them ultimately opens the door for she feels if they don't deserve to live I don't deserve to live. In a way showing if we would go down the path of cloning and mutating DNA of new born children we will have to live with the consequences.
    That being said the movie was very predictable and certainly not the best Jurassic movie, but there are plenty of things to like about it as well so imo underrated.

    I still enjoy watching this movie, despite what the majority of people may say about it. I can agree, the whole "returning to the island full of dinosaurs" concept for the 5th time is old, but this movie is critical in setting the premise of the upcoming sequel, Jurassic World: Dominion. We got a little tease of it in The Lost World: Jurassic Park when the male T-Rex escaped from the boat and wreaked havoc upon San Diego, but now we will see how the world adapts and changes to seeing the dinosaurs coexisting and interacting with humanity. To quote a certain computer technician, "Hold onto your butts, folks"!!

    The stiggy (the dome-headed dino) was probably one of the trained dinosaurs for shows back on isla nublar before it closed and was trained to ram objects w/ the call of the whistle. Like what they do w/ trained dolphins or seals.

    Yeah, T-rex blood is unlikely to be compatible with a Velociraptor, but the single most unbelievable thing in this is Claire giving a shit about anything enough to cry. They firmly established her as a psychopath in the last movie, why would they try to bring emotions into her character now?

    16:08 16:20 23:29 24:27 The rooftop scenes kinda reminds of a few scenes from other films/ media tbh, i.e.
    - the backstory at the beginning of the game Uncharted 4
    - the rooftop battle in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
    - the rooftop battle in The Spiderwick Chronicles.
    16:34 17:57 The dumbwaiter scenes also remind me of similar scenes from The Spiderwick Chronicles & Zathura lol.

    So hype for Jurassic World Dominion, the third film, I really liked the end of this one, dinosaurs living with humans. Some rumors say in this movie we will se some feathered dinosaur and the main villain will be a Giganotosaurus. Alan, Malcom and Ellie will be also in the movie.

    This movie gets alot of undeserved hate, yes there are valid criticisms but these problems also extend back to the original. Just one example is everyone complains how cartoony the villains were, which is a valid criticism but lets not forget Dennis Nedry was very cartoony, with banana peel slipping sound effects and trying to play fetch with a dino.
