    It all depends on the attached neighbor. You might live in a end-unit townhouse which means that there is nobody over you and below you and next to you (either on the right or on the left, not both). However one neighbor you are attached to might turn your life to hell/disaster!!

      That part. I’m afraid to invest in a town home not know the person next to me. I have loud neighbors now and they are African immigrants and people keep calling the cops and several people are moving. My lease is up in 3 months and it’s been hell since they move next door to me. 3 months it was peaceful now nope. They wake me up and the loud music and smoking. Management keeps telling them to stop and issuing violations but they won’t stop.

      @@lifeisbeautiful9455 Thank you so much sharing your experience with people. I am not in favor of people's buying a townhome unless they are deaf people. It is because one neighbor, even ONE neighbor, forget two!!, who is attached to your wall might turn your whole life to hell. On the other hand, you might live in an apartment with neighbors on the right, left, up, and down and you might not have any noise problem. I have experienced both. I also experienced living in an apartment and they turned my life to disaster. Summary: If you are attached to somebody in ANY way, even in a rental place, be ready to move out. BUYING a place with an attached person?? Forget about it. Even if they sell the place for 10 dollars, I wouldn't take it.

      @@ASmith-jn7kf People who don't mind noise must be the noisy ones themselves. There is no other explanation. They are the troublemakers to begin with, so why will they complain. Probably they are so damn noisy or heavily drugged/drunk that they don't even hear the noise or bothered with it. There is no other explanation.

    I'm not a first time home buyer, but i'm thinking of investing in a townhome. I'm wondering if it would be a good investment for a short term rental or house hacking?

    • @RamonicaCaldwell
      @RamonicaCaldwell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the location. And some townhome communities may have restrictions regarding vacation rentals. It's best to check with the community prior to purchase. House hacking is usually best in a multi-family style unit unless you are okay with a roommate style set up. Let me know if I can help.

      Depends on the construction of the home. Steel builds create the best noise barriers but they are rare in mid-rise buildings. Unfortunately, most residential buildings are not built with steel. It's mainly used in commercial real estate.
