I agree with that guy in the backseat as opposed to the guy driving, it is way more impressive to not hear the engine than to hear a loud engine.

You are so right ! You are obviously not the target costumer. If you were professional journalists you can at least try to imagine being one? A person actually parting with 100.000+ of there own money! And yes they actually care about fuel economy, long term economy and reliability! That’s how they got to be able to afford this car in the first place.

I guess it is quite off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch new series online?

I guess if you were to purchase the straight gas model LS 500 you would hear the engine sound they’re looking for. I have an Avalon Limited Hybrid. It’s not a hot rod but it has very good acceleration and I would be getting 40/39 mpg city/highway if I drove the way I’m supposed to 😉. My next car will probably be a hybrid LS. Because if I’m scaling up I still want to get good gas mileage along with reliability.. German luxury cars are fun to drive …but not at the cost it is to keep them serviced..

You guys are whining too much on the sound it makes forgetting you are in the hybrid version. If you want the better engine, better performance and far quieter and smoother ride the petrol version is available. This hybrid version is for those who want to save money on gas and help less polute the atmosphere.

I bought my first Lexus LS 460 longbody in 2013 at the age of 41, Then I bought a 2015 LS 460 F sport, and now a couple of months ago I bought the LS 500. In a couple of years I will buy the LS Hybrid.

Great video and refreshing to hear honest criticism of a car, but you guys really need to stop interrupting each other.

I would like to see a comparison between the normal gas version of this and the new Genesis G90.
Paul, are you wearing a Panerai Radiomir?

There is know pleasing some. There are other manufacturers in this segment that might mute engine noise well, when the driver demands full throttle performance but cannot compete against Lexus reliability record or offer as much equipment as standard. Lexus also offer design features making their cars standout.

if you can afford this, you should not care about mpg and just get the turbo unless the hybrid is faster

    • @heisenberg6552
      @heisenberg6552 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hybrids usually aren’t faster in terms of top speed but off the line they’re very fun cause of the instant torque

For the extra cost of the glass, you forgot to mention they have formed it into a shaped charge, so that if you’re struck in the door, it blasts fragments through both back seat passengers. So there’s that. 🤔

Don't take it on the reviewers, the reality is that this is a poorly sorted out vehicle. The LS600H before it offered a more refined experience than this frankenstein of a car. The cabin is beautiful and so is the exterior, but they already had an existing V8 hybrid that they could've improved upon instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, especially knowing it would yield such poor results. And if the IS500 & LC500 get to offer the V8, so should the LS500 (at least as an option). No excuses.

I feel like some of the compliants, such as ride comfort and noise would be solved if they took it out of sports mode. Other than that I enjoyed hairing your opinion and I you mentioined longevity

No wonder you only have 16k followers. I’m not a fan of Lexus. However, as a car reviewer at least you need to be objective.

Yes, the Mercedes is really great (for 2.5 months), than you will experience your first visit to the service.... Tell your 3 years old child - as you will have a technical issue on the roadside - in the middle of the desert at night 02.00AM, that sorry son, do not worry, that assistance will be here in 3 hours, BUT think of this: the powertrain is much stronger, and the suspention is firmer in here, that anywhere else......😏 The Cadillac... you really compared a Lexus with a Cadillac...?😂😂😂

My friend bought a $70,000 Cadillac and 2 months later the back of his driver sear fall off and he can't find the way to put it back. Cadillac is indeed fast but the interior is small and bad quality.

Buying a Lexus is not a matter of being old , but a matter of being mature. Two different things that usually don't come together. I bought my first brand new Lexus when I was 28 years old. I was very young , but mature enough to wanting the very best.

    • @danielchripko5204

Its not matter of being old or not....its matter of preference of quality or not....

I hope I never go broke enough to not be able to afford my series 1 LS 400. I've spent 10k in solely maintence in my first year of ownership. But it's so worth it.

These two shouldn’t work together, unbearable to watch, they clearly can’t stand each other - or have no respect for what each other has to offer to the conversation, what a disaster.

This is an interesting take away, and tells us you’ve never seen our show before. While this might not be our best work, these guys have been close friends for more than two decades, co-hosted “Everyday Driver” for 15 years, 11 TV seasons, and more than 700 episodes of one of the worlds most successful automotive podcasts. We understand not everyone will like our work, but we’re glad you found us!
