The reason he’s out of league is because he played for a championship team like Toronto and not get any playing time. If he was playing for a lousy team but getting minutes, he would still be in the league.

Jeremy Lin is a really good player. It just shows you being a really good player is not enough in the NBA, you need to be with the right coach in the right system. Mike D'Antoni was the perfect coach for Lin because Lin plays just like Steve Nash by playing lots of pick and role and making great decisions. If you notice the offense NY was running is the same offense Phoenix ran with D'Antoni as coach. He just knows how to play basketball.

totally agree. yet Lin is inconsistant in shooting easpecailly pull up threes. this made the defender in recent years to go behind the screen and dare him to shoot from perimeter when guarding Lin. together with the ingury which rip away his explosiveness and speed (which he highly rely on ) , all this drawbacks in his game ended up him playing in the CBA (Chinese basketball association)

This team could've have gone all the way to the finals and probably won a championship if they kept Lin and D'antoni and let Melo go. I'm not saying that Lin is the best player in the world because in reality he wasn't but when he played with Jeffries, Novak, Chandler, Shumpert, and fields they were like a well oiled machine. The chemistry that they had was incredible, like they have been playing for years. People are saying that Lin only had that one week and nothing else but he had Linsanity moments in Houston when Harden was temporarily out for the game, same with the Hornets when Walker was out, even when he was with the tanking Lakers and tanking Hawks but whenever he was doing "Linsanity" things and starting to win he was benched because were trying to lose. Stuff just didn't line up well for him after the Knicks, he was going to be the main ball handler for the Nets but got injured and when he was transferred to Toronto, he wasn't needed because they had too much talent that eventually won them the Championship.

He really could've been Yao Ming 2.0 except he's a PG and American. 🤦‍♂️ I guess the NBA didn't really want the Chinese market like that. They wanted their players idolized. you can clearly see that they was having fun together. they would have done great things but that one bad apple had to be selfish and screw everything up.

Wow, so this Jeremy Lin guy wasn't just another Asian center making headlines. He was actually an Asian American point guard that exploded onto the NBA scene with legit floor general skills.
Too much for the non -Asians in the league to accept.

Its not luck that brings a player to a level of outstanding. Its putting in the work. Everyone in the league can play and everyone got there, mostly, by working on their game. Athleticism can only get you so far until you meet those that are for real. Jeremy did what all the greats say you have to do to make it in NBA. NY let him go after his breakout performance (Carmelo and Smith were threatened by his game). Why? Not because of his game, he proved that. And made all the doubters eat there words. What a shame.

No one mentioning that Lin succeeded here mostly because he played Coach Ds way. Melo wouldnt and succeeded in chasing both out of town. Coach went into head office mid practice and said, “its him or me.” Team went with the cancer.
