    JR Garage, I got screwed over on a Subaru B4 RSK. It was my first car I was getting and I was super hyped. Twin turbo, all wheel drive, 276 horsepower, right hand drive, manual transmission. The car was my dream car from when I was 7. i went to look at the car and for me the first red flag was he had two people looking at it at the same time. I took it for a spin and I loved it. I made him an offer and we agreed on $7,000 and we shook on it. I went through the whole process of taking out a loan and I had the money ready, I drove the full 45 mins to get to where the car was at and when I got to the guys house the car wasn't there. He had sold it the night before and "forgot" to text me. On the ride back home I cried a little. It ended up being worth not getting though because the next week I picked up my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT and I have loved every second of owning it. Hopefully you get the chance to read my story cause I'm going to be late for class now 😂

    But you had a binding contract. Isn't that illegal? You gave him aa option to hold the deal. You could probably sue him for the full price of the car you were going to pay.

    • @Mr009mm
      @Mr009mm 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      could be wrong but it wasnt on paper, just messages, he also said 2k no refunds and they didnt specify if he dont get the car if he sells it to someone else etc. hes to young to sue, but that might be the thing that helps him. the fact the guy did business with a minor or ripped one off.

    • @IVEMER
      @IVEMER 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      still though if JR had a binding contract with the guy, it is done and the fact he gave him notice which I personally find it unfair... he breached it by not letting him buy the car
      Just because someone else offered more money doesn't give you a right to cancel a binding agreement without fulfilling its entire terms first... that's called breaching..

    What would I have done? I would have avoided dealing with a private individual in the first place. If you want an exotic super sports car, figure out exactly the specification you want and visit an authorized dealer. They'll have one in their network of clients who'd be willing to sell it. At least you're protected. Moral of the story? Never buy exotic super sports cars unless it's bought from an authorized dealer. Full stop.

      John Conti By the sounds of it, he lost $2000.00 for his trouble, plus the cost of his time, frustration and bad experience. And look where he ended up for a car that likely wasn't any less expensive than one from an authorized Lamborghini dealer.
      If it were me, and the alternative choice to this car was one from an authorized dealer, with the protections in place, binding contract in hand and cost significantly more, I'd walk past this car all day, everyday, and twice on Sundays and take the more expensive one from the dealer. Full stop; period; done!
      Still, I have no sympathy for him. He went through this bad experience, and then repeated the process with his Ferrari F355, a car that cost him approx. $7000.00 in repairs the first two miles he drove it.
      "What would you do," he asks? There's nothing you can do at this point, except take yet a second knock on the chin and hopefully learn from at least two self-inflicted Walmart experiences with boutique cars, something that should never happen in the first place with boutique cars.
      If you insist to buy auto exotica at Walmart, predictably, guess what's going to happen? You'll most definitely have a Walmart - as apposed to a boutique - experience, the latter being the point of buying a super car in the first place.

      Vincent Gambini You or you daddy must definitely work at an "authorized dealer". You said the same thing like 6 time in 3 little paragraphs. The kid was 16...if you don't feel bad for him, its because you are likely an awful slimy car salesman that's butthurt that you didn't get his business either time. (the words where almost all the same as the ones i use, the difference is that mine's are in Portuguese). Your mentality and philosophy about life, about that point, are very similar to mine. Im happy to know that there are more people around the world like this.
    About the subject of the video, I will use a phrase of mine, "good moments brings pleasure, happiness, joy, satisfaction... but those are momentaneous, they will fade away. Bad moments teaches lessons, gives you experience, makes you stronger in a many different ways, and those will last for the rest of your life".

He then said he sold it after we agreed upon the deal. He said i reminded him of himself when he was younger etc. A week passes and after i finally buy a car he calls me saying the buyer returned it and he would sell it to me.... needless to say thank god i didn't buy that car

  • @LiveLongLiveHappy

    he would at minimum have to return the money paid otherwise take him to court, legal fees would be paid on his end anyway as it is a breach of contract - i work in a law firm so your case should be solid if it was a simple breach of contract

    People who tell you how honest they are, are the ones to avoid. Red flags that you are dealing with a conman is they use terms such as I can't be any fairer than that or they butter you up, telling you how great you are being so successful at such a young age. He did not get his wealth by being a nice guy.
    My answer is look on the bright side this conman taught you a good lesson at such a young age that people are not always who they appear to be. This is a valuable thing to know in the business world.

    Hey it could've been worse, I bought a '08 Outback XT (the turbo outback), which are hard to come by, and it was the 5 speed which is even harder to find. thing looked excellent, looked underneath was perfectly rust free (which is rare for Vermont subarus) , thing ran and drove fine. So I picked it up same day (mistake 1), that's when the problems started.. Drive home started cool, nothing odd, guy even filled it up (was supposed to be premium because #boostinyo, although I have a strong belief it was not premium) then the steering wheel started shaking violently at about 65mph (found out this is actually something that happens on certain outbacks). That's no fun right? Well i brought it to a shop about 3 days later to have it inspected (mistake 2, in my state you only have 3 days to reverse a vehicle sale) at the shop they said my whole tailgate needed to be rewired and my tie rods were really bad. Thought no big deal cheap and easy to fix. Next i notice after filling the tank up past half full, thing is leaking gas. Now this is starting to piss me off, spend $600 to fix that (which it never really stopped just got wayyyy better). I think now "ok smooth sailing" ehhh wrong, now it's developing a boost leak that literally sounded like a screeching banshee. I tried my best to find and fix that to no avail. Then the final straw, a whopping 3 weeks of driving my "great, beautiful, kinda-rare" outback XT later... Low oil pressure light comes on. Dun Dun Duhhhhh... buddy who runs the shop i go to (great guys btw super good rates and stuff) tells me it's 1 of 3 things, 1: broken sensor (wasn't that since it worked when i came off idle) 2: I had low/the wrong oil (nope not that either) or 3: a blown/failing turbo (ding ding ding winner! and the engine wasn't far behind). Needless to say I had to stop driving the car I had hunted for 5 months to find, and did truly love, for good. Last thing I did was change the oil and found chunks, not shavings, CHUNKS of aluminum in the oil. Sadly I had to trade her in and got a new WRX, so it's not all that bad. Just a learning experience on buying cars from some shady Jordanian in VT (we found out he was being investigated by the VT Attorney General for selling 55 cars a year without a licence, oh and not paying a cent in taxes for 3 years) Hope you enjoyed my story, not a Lamborghini but my own lost love.

  • @TheProperBloke
    @TheProperBloke 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    You can get your 2k back, just go get a lawyer, ESPECIALLY when you had a binding contract. Also, I highly doubt he actually sold the car, in fact the Lamborghini most likely wasn't owned by him in the first place. Which can explain his "youthful" age you were saying, which in reality he's probably been scamming many other people such as yourself on that "2k" secure deposit, which is a red light in my book... But I'd go ask a lawyer, and see what you can do from there. Because at least you can get your 2k back (which covers the expenses for paying the lawyer = rip), and probably bust the guy too, idk.

    Taking more action isn't about "getting him back". It's about keeping a person honest. You had a contract and he broke it. He was dishonest and it does not help when you allow someone to get away with it. It sends the wrong message just letting it slide and it only opens the door for it to happen again to another person.

      or if it was that good a deal ... i would have pushed to make it happen that day. there was a win but he depended upon a soft-contract, nebulous terms, unfamiliar parties ... and other loose connections to make it work out for him. the guy probably wanted to sell "to the kid" but it was his car and if he wanted to be aggressive he has that right; perhaps he is willing to chance litigation. who is the kid? he is nobody. he will never do business with him again. ALL the reason why "used car salesmen (and such)" have such an ugly rep.

  • @billyjohnson777
    @billyjohnson777 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    similar experience with a dealership. signed all the papers and left a 2k deposit on a BMW x5m. Few days later the dealer makes us come in. The cowardly salesman was not even there to say they sold the car to another person. Reason being was they wanted to sell the car to a chump who had to finance at a high rate so the salesman could get a kickback on the sale from the bank. We offered asking price no haggle in cash, the refused. This is days after we bought the car and signed the papers. didn't trust the dealer so we left with our money back. turns out the other guy backed out to and the car sat.

      Happens to everyone, especially with modified cars. Trust me, Ive bought two cars and had one start rod knocking within 48 hrs. sr20det stock internals with a big turbo. Something was bound to blow. Needless to say i was street racing. (So i take fault). And my other car 92 325i dropped a valve and the motor went KABOOM!. But, i was street drifting so I have to take fault there as well.

      What are you talking about? I hate when people spout nonsense to the masses, people might actually believe you. A verbal contract is 100% binding. It is even more enforceable when you have put a deposit down with the complete intention of paying the rest of the money within the allotted time. The only way that man could have gotten out of the contract is if the backout clause was met; Friday rolls around and the remainder of the cash doesn't show up.
      So yes, he could very easily with even just what he has shown us on this youtube video, proven to the courts that there was a binding contract. I would absolutely push it forward. Tell everyone what this guy's name is and where he lives so that you can save other people the hassle of dealing with someone as shady as him!
