Chaminda vaas was a brilliant bowler at his prime (srilankan won't even remember him now) . Nobody gives credits to fast bowlers for they have lesser time of consistent top performance to batsman.. because of more physical demanding & injury porne task they are never recognised or remembered in similar fashion. For eg jawagal srinath , mohanty, venkatesh Prasad r p Singh Ajit agarkar laxmipati Balaji munaf patel sreesanth ishanth Sharma Irfan Pathan and many more are there who were the household names during that era on whom which nobody talk about 80-90 kids can relate. These guys led us to some great glorious times but we don't talk about them sadly anymore. Good old times. Just want to admire you all for what you have contributed for our nation. Thank you ❤️✨

@@travellerneo1349actually no. In 2007 the team was very well prepared going into the World Cup. Had won against SL, WI, Pak, Eng and maybe against SA. The team was young and the best in chasing at that time, which was never an attribute of an Indian team. Expectations were sky high, but in World Cup things went downhill. Maybe if we had a different format, we could’ve bounced back.
In 2003 it was total opposite, the preparation was worst, thrashed by NZ, SA, lost to Windies. No expectations going to World Cup, and there we started with worst performances against Ned and Aus, but still bounced back strongly because of lots of matches in the group stages. So maybe it’s all about luck.

Actually all have fighting spirit to win the game. Current generation cricket team takes losing a game too lightly and part and parcel of game. Even in world cup final of 2023, no one took responsibility to make their inning big, every player wants to showcasing shorts rather than playing sensible inning required by team.
