Sins of my father could also be an Easter egg. There is a graphic novel called sins of the father that mentions Thomas Wayne forcing people to be committed to Arkham Asylum and Deadshot is killing the employees. However it is interesting how the Wayne family is getting more of a dark past in shows and movies to give Bruce more of a character to fix his family's mistakes. Granted the Wayne family history could be in comics but I haven't read all of them. I do have to admit though; I love how this movie goes back to what the original Batmobile was. Just a normal car. For example; the original live action Batmobile was actually just a 1939 Cadillac Series 75 convertable.
My only critique, when he punches the glass yelling "What did you do?!", the glass should have at least cracked. When he's taking that automatic fire point blank, gave me chills
@16:02 This scene really reminds me of several of the fight scenes in 2002's Equilibrium. Some beautiful flash frames lit only by muzzle flashes between a few figures. The style really evokes the panic you'd probably be feeling in that situation when faced with an implacable foe coming at you through the darkness. I love it!
I love the idea that Batman could unwittingly be the Talon. I also love the hallway scene; as you mentioned the only light being from the guns and it evoking Darth Vader. I like that because it is "fear" Batman is trying to create. The same way everyone fears Darth Vader. Nothing those criminals do is able to stop him, he just keeps going. Can you imagine those guys in prison saying how this "thing" came out of the darkness and how "their guns did nothing"? Also, I hope the Court of Owls is a build up surprise for a sequel. Like, if in all of Riddler's riddles throughout the movie there are clues leading to the Court and that THAT is Edward's true mastermind riddle. Edward in prison at the end of the movie laughing as Batman recites the Court's rhyme in the cave.
The diner opening kinda feels like a reference to Arkham Knight where the officer gets attacked by Scarecrow's gas and the whole intro of arkham Knight

And DC killed the mcu with Joker.
What little that is shown of Colin Farrell as the penguin reminds me a little of
De Niro’s Al Capone from “The Untouchables.”
I can only imagine this batman getting a red hood storyline it would be awsome i think it fits this universe
Hell yeah, maybe in a second trilogy assuming it gets one
a friend of mine is assuming that this is why they are making it so violent (more then others) to see up for the brutal birth of the red hood
would be cool if they switch up the order of the robins too and making jason the first
I love how we still don’t know exactly what’s going on
Matt Reeves just ⚡⚡⚡
True, These trailers are just some riddles for us. :)
As it should be, trailers shouldn't tell us what the movie will be, just a taste.
The trailer is well done!
Nolan's trailers were the same. We saw the characters, clips of action but we had no idea of the plot. The way a good trailer should be.
I totally got "Imperial March" vibes from the musical score here. Thanks for pointing that out, and for the inside info on the connection to Rogue One cinemaphotographer. Great stuff!
Now that I’ve seen the movie, you’ve nailed most of the major hints!
I would just love for them to go the “thomas waybe was a gangster” storyline from the telltale games
Kinda like The Long Halloween, he had 2 work with gangsters 2 achieve his goals
I think in this version Thomas and Martha were good people that were killed to keep bad things going
@@dominiquejones3805 yeah that's what I hope for. They might have been bad people but to achieve the good things you might need to budge and use the bad people. Didn't Thomas build the hospital or something with Falcone? I'm not saying they should be squeaky clean but I hope they're not terrible people in this
Would be really cool if the movie ended with the Riddler winning.
I think in a way he will. Bruce will loose the image of what his parents were. Maybe the riddler gets arrested but batman's ideology gets defeated
:O
Honestly I got a feeling that's exactly what's gonna happen. Don't see this movie having a happy ending. Lol
@@alexvaldivia1855 yeah like his brutal/evil ways get defeated making room for the 2 other movies
I'm expecting a Noir 7 ending.
Also the "Black and Blue" part of the riddle could be a nod to Batman wearing more Blue back in the day along with the black and blue bruising 🤔
This film is exactly what I had hoped for. It’s when the Dark Knight meets Batman vs. Superman meets Seven. A fantastic job by Reeves & WB. Congrats DC fans. It’s thrilling, gritty, dark, realistic and full of action.
I love how dark this movie looks. The cinematography looks amazing.
I hope he will say:-
I am Vengeance.
I am The Night.
I am The Batman.
I have a guess…. I think earlier in the movie (as seen in the preview), he will first say “ I am vengeance”. Then about halfway through the movie he will answer the same question with “I am the night”. And then, at the end of the movie he will have built to say “ I am the Batman!!”
Sounds too cheesy for this movie
@@bizzlewizzle9772 That would be awesome. Or imagine this:
- 1st Movie: I am vengeance
- 2nd Movie: I am the Night (Movie with Dick´s Robin)
- 3rd Movie: I am Batman. (Movie with Jason´s Robin)
@@claudiocontrerasgomez2949 niiiiiiiiiiiiice 👍🏼…. I think you’re onto something here. They do know it is going to be at least a trilogy. I’m buying what you’re selling
That corridor scene with the automatic weapons is masterful
Yeah but really unrealistic to walk like robocop as if were no danger. What would happen if the stupid thugs shot in his face?? He doesn’t have a protection for his mouth
@@nahuel5438 I hope he says "amateur, lucky amateur" like he did in Batman: Year One after he luckily survived and almost died due to naivete.
right, why do they aim so low.
@@nahuel5438 wow what a crazy thing to say a comic book movie unrealistic ...I'm shocked
@@nahuel5438 It's a comic book movie, Sherlock.
Also I guess it's safe to say that the Riddler knows Bruce is Batman. How else would he tell him about the sins of his father.
Sounds like The Riddle 4 sure. He gets no joy from exposing Bruce that way
I LOVE seeing him muscle through those gun shots, so sick! Also having a legit Riddler that imposes fear and terror from his riddles/games is gonna be awesome!
Thank you for mentioning the Edward Hopper/Nighthawks reference. My favorite painter his impact on the visuals used in film making is often overlooked.
From what we saw in the trailers so far, this is going to be huge.
The only thing I'm wondering now: Is it going to take over The Dark Knight as my personal #1 favorite comic book movie of all time? I guess I'll just have to wait & see.
This trailer makes it look like it has number one potential! Hopefully it delivers, even if it isn't number 1!
I can't be the only one who thinks that clocktower was a reference to Oracle.
But it’s year 2 and if what he says is true, Batman and Gordon don’t know each other much yet so for batgirl to even exist idk
@@aryan4945 Yeah, but that doesn't mean the building didn't exist yet. Maybe they're building it up for the future, maybe it's just a reference, maybe I'm just overthinking it.
@@aryan4945 they did it in arkham origins. he met a young barbra gordon at gcpd
@@leocastrillo759 I don't think this Batman will be meeting Barbara in the GCPD the same way they met in BAO.
I think the bat signal was actually done by Bruce. Like I think we'll see him jam that bat stencil in the spot light. Which is why it looks the way it does. Pretty cool✌
Yea no shit.
@@makinamuerte7590 wow you're that nice to a random stranger you've never met? Did someone hurt you?
In prisons/ mental health lockup it's not regular glass it's thick bulletproof glass
@@carlhungus2521 But it's Batman!!!
He actually said "What have you done!?" and it's in the subtitles
It did crack tho, look again
The way Colin Farrell looks unrecognisable.
Looks more like Colin Quinn.
@16:02
This scene really reminds me of several of the fight scenes in 2002's Equilibrium. Some beautiful flash frames lit only by muzzle flashes between a few figures. The style really evokes the panic you'd probably be feeling in that situation when faced with an implacable foe coming at you through the darkness. I love it!
Equilibrium great movie!.
Came here to make this comment! Equilibrium’s cinematography was severely underrated!
Underrated film!!!!! I hadn't thought about that!!!!! GOOD EYE
That movie was definitely good
Batman and movies are two of my favorite things and this literally looks like the Batman movie of my dreams I’ve wanted since I was a kid
Wow the way you to pay attention to every detail is truly amazing
4:58 ...and standing center right amongst the thugs is Jay Lycurgo, who plays Tim Drake in Titans!
Notice the way that yellow/ orange light dissipates across his armor when he gets shot?
Kinda like some vibranium tech, cool af
Love that. Highlights the symbol and calls back to the gold outline on it.
The hallway scene where he just walks through all the bullets will be amazing to see alone
It’s DC’s version of Darth Vader hallway scene from Rogue One. Or like Luke Skywalker from Mandalorian.
The Darth Vader scene from Rogue One is still the best of any in the Star Wars universe.
LMAO, just no
I love the idea that Batman could unwittingly be the Talon.
Cinematography looks beautiful! Reeves and Pattinson know what they’re doing, my anticipation for this film is through the roof!
Ridler: "I've been trying to reach you..."
"about your car's extended warranty"
This looks great. However, not crazy with Bruce Wayne's hair style.
Agreed
He’s still young during this time.
Pat has got the look of Bruce Wayne, hairstyle is the problem which I think will change in future with an older batman
Well they did say this is a Batman who’s obsessed with only being Batman and never wanting to be Bruce Wayne, they say that when he’s Bruce he doesn’t care what he looks like or how he acts and gets into fights and loses on purpose
@@PunkPaine Pattinson is 35, 😅 he's no youngster! I'm hoping there is a hair cut mid-film and he looks the playboy at least once. Its a big part of the character.
Yeah, this trailer, I must say, gave me major “Batman: The Long Halloween” vibes, especially with the Catwoman and Batman scenes where they’re in costume together.
FACTS, especially Thomas Wayne working with gangsters 4 the greater good. Son pays 4 Sins of his Father
Watching him walk towards the Penguin’s car upside down is such an amazing shot
The trailer gave me chills, and I’m not one to get too hyped over movies. The musical score was phenomenal.
So hype for this. I’m hoping the trailers live up to how amazing this movie looks 🦇Thanks for breaking down all the Easter eggs!!
There's an Eyes Wide Shut feel to this as well. Not the sex cult thing, but definitely the cinematography, claustrophobic urban setting, and the themes of corruption at the highest levels.
It's about secret society as well
Hohoho wait till any of the sequels adopt the Court of Owls storyline
The Batman is excellent. There are lots of action scenes, but it has heart, and really, it's about family, and that's what's so powerful about it. If you like DC movies, you're going to love this one.
The scene where batman fights down the hall while appearing in the gunfire is obviously a reference to the dark knight rises when him and catwoman are making their way through the tunnels to bane
So we get The Batman AND Multiverse of Madness in the same month next year. This has to be a dream. HYPED
Not anymore 😬 Dr Strange has been delayed till May 😡
I absolutely cannot wait for this movie!!!
Actually Bale batmans gloves had tasers as well. Its how he made his cape ridgid.
Love how you can see Batman's cape come out of the window of the Batmobile when it jumps out of the fire
I’ve said it since Matt Reeves and Robert were announced that this is going to be one of the best (if not the best) Batman movies. They’ve delved so deep into the comics and stuff it’s actually mental. I was lucky enough to see certain portions of the filming in the UK because of my job and you really are in for a treat 😉
This is gonna be the greatest batman movie of all time.
I’m sorry but no one can top the dark knight
Potentially
@@UltimateGamer34 Stop treating the Nolan trilogy like it's the coming of Jesus Christ, this movie will obviously be better than the Dark Knight, deal with it.
@@chrissmith9362 also why are u toxic when im not offending anyone
@@UltimateGamer34 I wasn't toxic, I simply said that you should stop treating the Nolan trilogy like it's the coming of Jesus Christ, what's so toxic about that?
The person he’s wrestling with when Selina Kyle jumps is Gordon. You can see his Afro and glasses.
I like how they keep the Riddler's face hidden throughout the trailer I hope they do this for most if not all of the movie.
16:01 as a star wars fan i immediatly noticed the similarities to vader in rogue one
You literally revealed so many plots of the movie in this. I am glad I watched this video after watching the movie. Kudos to you though for such a thorough analysis.

I thought that this Batman would've seemed much more intimidating had he cracked the glass that he punched in the prison.
