Issue with tying one feat to the backgrounds, if I wanted to be a cleric with an acolyte background. I'm basically forced to take a feat that isn't really helping, it's great if you want to be a fighter with a little bit of cleric o guess
I think D&D tying pretty much all your bonuses, except for some minor species, one to backgrounds was a huge mistake. This forces a straight jacket onto character creation, forcing you to choose from a much more limited set of backgrounds with little recourse. ToV spreads this responsibility over lineage, heritage, backgrounds, & talents....as you actually get a choice of talents in ToV. I think this design flaw could sink the 2024 by itself. I am surprised it made it out of plsytesting like this.

@@tailfire666 ya. TOV ar least gives you options for a talent rather than tying you to a specific one
