I was looking into this program. But the workflow is not what I am looking for. I want to be able record in track, while at the same time being able to watch and hear the existing edit while recording. For audio this is no problem. I see that with Adobe Audition for example where you can listen to your mix while recording. If we had the same also for video it would allow me to make better VOs as I see the video while I am talking. Which makes it feel like an actual commentary instead of me talking to a wall of text if you know what I mean.
I find it extremely counterproductive that when you are going for a webcam only recording, there is no persistent live Preview screen in Camtasia. Mousing over a floating recording toolbar for a small popup thumbnail-size window on the recording is the best Camtasia can do? Really? I honestly feel like I'm missing the punchline on this.
Since the main workflow for Camtasia is screen recording, a full-size preview wouldn't make sense to block your whole screen. In your case, you only want the webcam so our main workflow becomes inconvenient, totally understand that, but based on our feedback most people don't purchase Camtasia for webcam recording only, so it's a bit of an irregular workflow. If this is something you think more people would appreciate, you can request it of the devs directly at feedback.techsmith.com, and make sure to include your workflow scenario and how it would benefit you. They are recorded into proprietary Camtasia formats, but if you really needed to edit in another piece of software, you could export each as an mp4 file. But you cannot record, and simply import into another editor, no.
How do I cut all the 3 separate tracks at the same time? I seem to have cut just the audio and what happened was that there were no cuts done to the video and it got out of sync with the audio. Can I cut everything at the same time somehow?
Only one webcam during a recording. But you can record separately (maybe in a zoom window, or directly to a camera's memory card or iPhone) and then bring them all in and sync them up after.
@@techsmith there is 2 issue with that... 1st it take a lot of memory 2nd it takes lot of ram 3rd if I hit f9 pause the recording... The other other camera will not stop.. I'm really looking forward that this feature also be added having multi cameras gives me the advantage on one camera I can explain how I'm doing the process, the other camera focus on my hands how I'm drawing on to the tablet.. 3rd is the recording

Your camera resolution is determined by the camera itself (is it 1920x1080? 1280x720?) may be easier to change your project settings to to match the camera. Right-click on your canvas and click “project settings” to change.

As long as you're recording something else (your webcam for example) you should be able to turn it off. I'm not aware of that being a new feature for 2020.
@@techsmith Thanks for the reply. NO I cannot switch off screen record. I have a screen shot of the options open to me but I cannot include it here. When I click teh down arroow I get the options Widescreen standard, and recent areas. Plus Lock to application , and Select area to record. No other options. Any ideas?
I just realized you're probably on Windows, right? Sorry for the confusion, Camtasia for Mac in 2019 you could turn it off, but no, in Windows you couldn't turn that off until 2020. But now is the time to upgrade if you're thinking about it! Biggest sale of the year for Cyber Monday (and Tuesday). www.techsmith.com/products.html (Make sure to click "Upgrade" under the "Buy Now" button if you do go to purchase - and adding Maintenance to your purchase will automatically get you Camtasia 2021 when it comes out next year!)
Select the clip of your webcam that is in your timeline, then go to the Properties window and using the Scale slider enlarge it until it fills your screen. You can also grab the clip in the canvas (video player) and grab the little node that appears in the corner when you select it, and drag it to enlarge it. You can also reposition if it's not centered but dragging it to the center.

You can!
On Mac: CMD+Shift+T
On Windows: "CTRL+SHIFT+S"

The webcam windows is much to small
You can resize it in the editor by clicking on the track, going into the properties panel and changing the scale (and position).

You can find a circle mask in the Visual Effects tab, but it's not an entire device frame.

You can re-size your webcam by selecting it in the timeline and changing the Scale in the Properties window.
