Just found you tonight Bora Bora. Better late than never. Well done on your voyage across the pond. Loved the video and love the boat. I sail a 1979 Albin Vega here in Charleston, SC. I have crossed the Atlantic many times as Navigator on A Nuclear Submarine. But my dream is to cross one day under sail. I'm 64 now and I wish I had found sailing as a teenager. life for me would have been much different. Thank you for taking the time to film and post your voyage,
Congratulations! Well done!! As Brucie would say "You're my favourites - but don't tell the others!!" You really are our absolute favourites! Love your videos, keep them coming!!!!! Stay safe, Sherrell and Liam.
A great balance of content. Repairs, cooking, sailing content, leaks, viewpoints and fun. Enjoyed the 40 minutes and well done for crossing the Atlantic
Very envious of A) your skills to sail the seas and B) the time you have to do it. I haven't had time off for more than 15 days in a row since summer vacation from school back in 2005. Amazing!
Thank you for your reply and info on Bora Bora , i have been looking for a Motor Sailer of similar dimensions for the last 6 months here in NZ . What i find so good about your videos is that you and your husband are really nice people and your sailing content is excellent . keep up the good work
I am surprised that you do not have more subscribers. Nothing fazes you and you crave for strong winds! I sailed for many years on my Oyster 406 (now somewhere in Greece) and am amazed at your confidence and undoubted ability. Just a little peeved that your videos take so long to come out as they are so enjoyable.
Congrats on the crossing ! How good is that , the Gods smiling on you with 2 nice fish on Christmas day . Always happy when you post something new . Be safe ,healthy and happy .
Great video, super crossing, you could have had much worse wether, consider yourself lucky! Keep the videos coming, one of the best on the tube!!! Fair winds!
Just come across you guys. So useful and entertaining. Planning to head off in a years time so going through all your vids. The are really well done too.
Wow, you folks did really well! I am surprised at the time you made. A full keel boat with moderate waterline length , very well. Obviously you sailed her with great skill. Nice job. Also, you ate really well. Those looked like some yummy meals!
So proud of you all!!! Brilliant problem solving and execution of duties. Informative and helpful for those of us who will make the same journey. Stay safe, sail and love on.....❤️⚓️❤️⚓️❤️⚓️
Very well done to the intrepid crew of Bora Bora! I’ve spent 9 Christmastimes passage making and, except for one during a Force 8 in the Roaring 40’s, I loved them all. Especially the 5 when the kids were young. Your good cheer and seagoing celebrations made me very nostalgic. Hope the New Year in the new world is joyous and fulfilling for you delightful folks. Be well!
Hey missed you guys ... really enjoyed the vid and thank you for all the great info on fixes and making food and scenery... always a pleasure to watch.
Awesome! I've learnt to have, plenty of spares for lots of different things. Really, really, do (edit) need to carry more water than you possibly can imagine you'll need. Not to panic just roll your sleeves up and get on with what needs looking at and fixing nevermind the discomfort or the difficulty. Really make sure you've got the skills and I know how. Need to learn about how you can use your sales to control the swell and such. But as I haven't got a boat yet, It doesn't matter too much lol. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Great stuff you 3. Good to hear from you guys again. Good crossing by the looks of things. Now looking forward to seeing your island hopping and the videos that brings..Good sailing..
Fantastic voyage, video and group of people... I’ve loved watching your vids from the very start. It makes me smile that you’ve achieved so much and will, later in life, have such a tremendous experience to look back upon. All the best, Keron
looking so much more relaxed , i do a lot in a wok , 1 pot cooking , allsorts, flying fish are delicious in butter & curry powder, just head & gut. CONGRATS..great daily runs
Nice one folks. Belated welcome to the New World. Lol. Man !! 14 days. That's good. I have been subscribed since the beginning. Love your vids. Hard work to make em. And hard work to keep your boat sailing. Good job to you both. Stay safe out there.
Just watched! Well done to you all on this amazing adventure. Much more relaxed than watching our American cousins, (less drama!) but a fantastic achievement for you all. Many thanks for sharing.
When I first saw the the title 'the big jump', I naturally assumed it was some kind of porn, so of course I was very disappointed to find 2 Devonians (who knew Devon had it's own flag) sailing around the world. So I went back to episode 1 in the hope of more titillation, and , boy, have I ever been so NOT disappointed . A 65 yr old Englishman lining in France for 16 yrs (with 3 yrs in Sardinia) I picked up on sailing channels a few months back, and immediately enjoyed them. But you guys take it to a whole new level. You take on waves , weather , leaks , and breakdowns with the same stiff upper lip as our ancestors, and with a partnership stronger than I have seen on ANY other sailing vlog. I am enjoying your take on the sailing life immensley. Fuck the porn , I'll stick with you guys :)
Good job on your voyage across the Atlantic 👍 Not to many problems that are too heart braking compared to some I've watched. Unfortunately batteries don't like opportunity charges, bits and pieces from the solar as the sun comes and goes, and even the generator for a couple of hours. They like to get fully charged to keep their capacity. You are right about a battery that's hot isn't quite as good. Thanks for another enjoyable episode 👍😊
Sailing SV Bora Bora Our boat Mystic is still in Beaufort, but we are back home working. Will be back out in late June. If you are still in the area, we’d love to by you both a pint.
I second what Charles says below: Congratulations on your safe crossing. Such a good video, thanks for sharing. I read your comment about being in North Carolina. I know everything can change in a moment but just roughly what are your sailing plans? Will you be sailing the Great Lakes?
Well done! A good amount of work putting together a 40 minutes long episode. We went over almost the same time. We crossed just a couple of weeks after you. I see that you are in North Chesapeke Bay now and we are in Grenada. Quite the difference in pace ;-) Hahaha. Looks amazing though and maybe we head up that way in season 2. Fair winds and following seas! //Steffi
boogynight hi there, and thanks for watching. Bora Bora is a 1974 Victory 40. It's a Dutch design built in the UK, a motor sailer with good sailing performance. There are not so many Bitish ones about, but there are more of the Dutch version, the Trintella IV which have no wooden dog house, but are essentially the same. Full keel and unbalanced barn door rudder on hydraulic steering, 72 hp perkins motor and 15 tons loaded, so heavy and narrow for her length at 3.5m. Nicki did a boat tour a while back, search for sv Bora Bora boat tour. Fair winds and all the best.
Hey, that was a GREAT episode, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (Yeah I know its come and gone but the wishes are there) Love sailing with you guys via my laptop. BTW, who's your crew member as I seem to be lost on that one. Cheers and Happy sailing. Robert, Cape Town, South Africa. :)
Viki Ross. Hi Viki, yes someone is up all the time, but even the Atlantic is so vast. Our AIS reaches 30miles and we saw no boats until we were 12 hours from land fall. its more keeping an I on sails and equipment. Fair winds and safe travels.
Sailing SV Bora Bora Thankyou we absolutely love watching your videos and have watched them back to back. Stay safe and we will be watching from afar hoping to live the dream one day soon!
Gil Harrison we tried to avoid the hotspots, always locked up when leaving the boat and also when on board at night. We'd always anchor further out in the anchorage away from the beach. If you get boarded on passage there's not an awful lot you can do except fire flares at them, or trail heavy gauge fishing wire to stall their engines, we don't carry weapons.

Totally addicted to watching your fantastic adventures ❤
Revisited 3 years later - still just as good!
Real warts-and-all life on a sailing boat. A terrific vid. Really well done and thank you
I like this much more than LaVagabonde. You guys are much more natural, no posing so it’s real stuff. Have fun and always fair winds.
Congratulations! Well done!! As Brucie would say "You're my favourites - but don't tell the others!!" You really are our absolute favourites! Love your videos, keep them coming!!!!! Stay safe, Sherrell and Liam.
You guys are awesome. Thank you. You just are awesome. 2 yrs ago Christmas no one thought how complicated life would get in 2019 with pandemic.
A great balance of content. Repairs, cooking, sailing content, leaks, viewpoints and fun. Enjoyed the 40 minutes and well done for crossing the Atlantic
Thanks guys for giving me a proper down to earth experience of sailing, carry on enjoying your lives all the best from Wales.

Fabulous video. Very inspirational, particularly for us newbies! We look forward to following in your wake.
Long trip. Glad you made it all ok.
Excellent and congratulations! We were in Beaufort, NC last weekend and thought we saw Bora Bora anchored on Taylor Creek. Was that you?
brunsonr yes we were there! great place 😊 where are you headed, north or south?

I read your comment about being in North Carolina. I know everything can change in a moment but just roughly what are your sailing plans? Will you be sailing the Great Lakes?
Jc Regal not this year, we'll be leaving the boat in Chesepeake bay whilst we go back to the UK to work for a while.
Just started watching your videos and they're great. I'm just curious on how you fund these trips?
it was realy wonderful

Watched a bunch>> been a joY!!!
Just wondering do you keep someone up on watch at all times? Newbie to sailing just bought our first boat!

Just wondering where captain Ben acquired so much sailing knowledge was this from previous family experience or just self taught???
Jenn C Ben sailed a bit with his father when we was a teenager, but this was thirty years ago now! The rest has been in the last three years.
Swimming without safety lines? Brave!
Digby Taylor we had a floating line out the back and there was always one person left on board
I heard Pirates were becoming a problem in the St. Lucia area among others, how do you take precautions for that?
Gil Harrison we tried to avoid the hotspots, always locked up when leaving the boat and also when on board at night. We'd always anchor further out in the anchorage away from the beach. If you get boarded on passage there's not an awful lot you can do except fire flares at them, or trail heavy gauge fishing wire to stall their engines, we don't carry weapons.
What boat you on guys ?
Looks like you had a good cook, at least.
You have a tender strapped down on the main deck, would this be used as your life raft or do you have another raft stowed on board ?
Richard Oram we have a proper 6 man life raft stowed on the aft deck
Wow I love yours videos
I would LOVE to live on a Cat and sail around, but the constant fixing would drive me NUTZ
Fred Fadungy me too. How big of a cat?
Simpler the boat, the less fixing!
Rigg the unlucky Flying Fish behind your lure and put more sashimi on the table.
Please take more 360 view shots, plus night moon, sunset, sunrise
November to May is in the middle of rough high sea waves
What happens to your patron link? Great vid.
,Specifically, what boat do you have.
why so much motoring? Did you have an appointment to be somewhere?
12:12 a bushing will always leak. Poor installation and design. A reducing coupling will not leak. Plumbing 101.
