Boat lists ,,,,,,,,,,, never ending stooooorrrry lol . Can be fun though ,at least when you knock over most of the big jobs and can kick back and enjoy the vessel for what it was meant for . Having an old house I’ve found they arnt to different really except , houses don’t sink if you don’t clean the gutters . Great Channel Folks, your a great Couple . Thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations.
Have just binge watched your escapades and I have to say what a lovely down to earth couple you are, I am a Devon sailor and our coast-line is stunning to explore but you have taken it to a completely world-wide level and I am not only in admiration but slight envy as well. Really looking forward to seeing your further adventures and look to your inspiration and problem solving sailing. Compared to other vloggers you are so natural and sailing orientated that I can say with my hand on my heart that I am surprised that 1, you do not have more subscribers and 2, that with your 15000+ subscribers are not hitting the "LIKE" button more often. Fair winds from Britain's Ocean City.
Great video guys. I'm amazed at how chill you are with each other under stress. I guess that is what makes you good sailors and great people. Have a fun and safe trip
Great episode. We're stuck in a marina ourselves with an endless list of boat jobs, and while we have good internet are catching up with our favourite sailing channels to remind ourselves why we're doing this! So we're gluttons for punishment watching other people doing boat work, instead of doing our own, but you really captured not just the extent of it all, but also that special feeling when you untie the lines, motor out and then unfurl the sail for the first time in months. Hopefully only four weeks to go ourselves.
So glad to see you back in your beautiful floating home, and it is so annoying when people install plant and equipment without considering just how the heck you are meant to remove it for maintenance! Still, at least you don't have to spend days in that bloomin locker anymore.
so glade to see you back hope the rest of your stay in usa was good for you love having you here and hope you come back love you guys thanks for the videos
So great to see you’re back sailing again... I can only imagine how great that feels for the pair of you. Keep it up... absolutely love following you guys. :)
Apparently hitting the 👍 button more than once doesn't have the desired effect....but welcome back! Nice to see you both back on the boat and back in the groove....
You guys are really the lucky ones! So appropriate for your channel. You both are so great together on camera. Glad your back. So much work getting her back in the water. Hope you didn't trade one shit generator for another..... The honda would have been a better choice but understand your financial constraints. Bora Bora is such a great boat. She will see you safely to England again. Just follow the wind.....
Delighted for ye guys ...such a fabulous feeling being back on board ...we were away from our boat for 10 months too...doesn't your soul just settle when you are back on the water ❤
I watch a lot of sailing channels. Each comes with it's individual problems You 2 look great together . Ben , take your fucking socks off with deck shoes !
So good to see you back and doing what I wish I was doing :) More power to your elbow. Re the genny - I also have a 7000-watt (Makita) generator for the house but you will need to change the oil at least every 200 hours to keep it in good condition. Ours does not run anywhere near that number of hours but the oil is changed every year regardless. Probably way better to not let it sit unused - as in your setup. Only other thing I would suggest if in the USA, try to get petrol without ethanol in it. Marathon sites have it and there is an app for your phone that will tell you which sites near you stock it. Called "Pure Gas" RV's use it too.
Hey, thanks for the comment, I have had problems in the past with UK pump petrol and 2 cycle makita garden tools. The carbs got all gummed up because of the ethanol in it. So thanks for the tip. As for the oil, I was horrified to see how little it holds, but it is so easy to change. Glad you enjoy and fair winds.
I will never again complain about the amount of work it takes to maintain my land-based home! It’s a drop in the bucket compared to what you guys have to deal with. Well done my friends! 👏 How are the repairs to your dinghy holding up?
I was so happy to hear you had a good experience in HDG. I knew you would. Quiet, yes. Good people, yes ;) Best of luck to you guys and I'm so thrilled to see you sailing again!
I still have a Mase generator. It’s a nice box with a collection of bas****s inside it. Theo Lambordini engine has been rebuilt as has the generator. Today it works, that is five days in the 15 years I have owned Amicula. It’s only a matter of time before it dies again. I did buy a Honda 2200 ova generator but it gave up after 500 hrs. Generators offer so much, hmm. Good luck.
My favourite couple back...now for some real sailing...TIP of the day!...the dinghy will clean up sweet...Oxalic acid...removes rust stains really well...its used by dry cleaners to remove/neutralise all sorts of stains from clothes...exceptionally good on polyester dacron sails & doesnt harm/degrade the fiber...great rid of sooty mold really well...also found it cleans off paint oxide great for a clean paint surface...doesnt seem to be hard on hands, no more than strong vinegar anyway...smells a bit like vinegar, its an extract from rhubard leaves :-!
Awesome work guys, that gene looked a bitch and the new one looked great. Love the engineering on the Hydrovane. Must feel great to be back on the water. Safe passage and look forward t catching up on your next video. Andy UK
Great to see video of you moving again. I guess you found out about how long winter lasts in the US. Spring is about a week then straight into the heat of the summer... . are you planning to head back to 'Blighty' after you New England cruise? Cheers Warren
Great to see you back on the water! Enjoy! Hey what are your overall plans - are you heading into the S Pacific? Would love to see you guys down this way!
One day the call of the Pacific will win, but we have turned East are now in the beautiful Azores. Fair winds and calm seas and perhaps our paths will cross at some point.
Sailing SV Bora Bora Oh I really hope so! All our cruising friends who started in the Med tell us the S Pac turns out to be the highlight. And some planned to be there 1 season and are still here after 5. Fingers crossed SV Bora Bora decides to steer herself this way sometime soon!
@@sailingsvborabora8712 But in the mean time I really enjoyed this video, being a boat owner myself, I know that its not always what you see on the sat morning tv boat shows, it can be messy at times and hard work, but pays off when everything goes to plan, nothing better.
Rather than that blow away powder cleaner try barkeepers friend liquid. Great stuff. Also, have to ask, why a petrol generator? Did you look at the green version that runs on cooking gas? (Propane)
Hi Guys, we were thinking of taking our boat back to the US for a season, but the last time (15years) back we got a B1/2 visa in London, had three interviews! they eventually gave us a 10 year visa. I see there is now a ROAM APP and a cruisers license to avoid the visa route, which option did you go for ?

Mine too!!! Beautiful.
Did I hear you say you will be sailing back to the UK this summer, hope this will not be the end of your Bora Bora adventures
What are you using to clean the fenders?
Ajax
thank you.
You two are sailors.
thumbs up
DAng, where is that, Northern Canada?! I'd have to recommend a bit further South!
Maryland, top of Chesapeake.
Just a quick question, what happened to the video of your return Atlantic crossing with the Dutch yacht mv Seahawk?
There was a problem with the upload....it will be back up again soon!
It is now uploaded!
Good videos, what could be improved is audio levels in edit. Thank you!
Did I miss something? Wasn't there supposed to be a video of Ben's sail back to the UK?
Yes, there was a problem with the upload...it will be back up again soon!
Saw your last video you uploaded , the one where you cross the atlantic. Then the video went down shortly after, what happen?
Yes, I saw that it was posted, but didn't get a chance to watch it before it was removed. Are you going to repost it? Please?! ;-)
It will be up again soon, sorry 🙈

What vessel is that - a Trintella 40...?
Very similar! A Victory 40.
@@sailingsvborabora8712 Gotcha.
Nice to see you back.
Do you carry some JB Weld with you? excellent stuff for fixing things like your pipe. Check out some of the videos on TH-cam.
I used it all up, it's a good thing to have on board!
We did our interview in Nassau And got B2 visas. Valid for 10 years. I'm not sure that the app is a substitute. Fair winds and calm seas.
I was surprised to read that Bora Bora is a 40. Out of the water she looks tiny.
Guess you have a spare anchor.
🤣🤣🤣" genny the bitch "
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
That's the kind of first week that makes you want to sell the boat and take up painting......watercolors anybody?
Great genie replacement. I’m always wondering why others don’t scrap their older ones and get RV genies.
12:04 The old generator however, flourished. And soon set out to seek it's fortune.
