Thank man, mistakes happens. I look at my videos as prototypes, I'm making these for the first time. I share the mistakes so no one makes the same one.
Very nice! My granddaughter, who is 18, saw this and now wants one. Looks like I have a cool project to do for her. Thanks, and keep up the great work.
I love your projects. I also appreciate that you don’t edit out your mistakes, you own them and explain how you make them right. Keep up the great work.
Nicely done. Just a note for future reference. To apply veneer to internal curves, try one of those bean-bags people use to warm up their sore neck or shoulders. Just put it in the microwave for a minute on high; it is flexible so it will conform to the curve and it stays hot for quite a while. You can still use the iron for flat surfaces.
This is such a minor point but it's so nice to see a TH-cam maker using a heat gun for heatshrink tube instead of a lighter or soldering iron. Cool video and project. Your humble presentation format is very inspiring.
this is by far the best quality video on youtube.mimics and movements are more real than real life, unbelievable.Plus, the guy looks like Lamar from Gta5
Great job! You should do more of these videos out of your comfort zone. Sometimes the simple looking designs are challenging to build, but well worth it. I definitely saw some design commonalities with my "Rings of Saturn" light, but also got some ideas from this video about how I could improve it when I make the video for Rings of Saturn version 2.0. I really liked the idea of hiding the wires under the veneer.
Thanks! I've definitely learned a lot from you. I'm excited to see more projects from you where you don't worry about trying to make a build simple or inexpensive, and just focus on making the design as cool as possible.
Started this over the weekend. Have wanted to make LED lamps for myself but always get lost browsing catalogs as to what to get. Your materials list along with video instructions have finally gotten me over the edge. Thanks!
Nice job! Really like how you showed how to set up the router table to do the pattern cutting. Also how you routed the groove for the wire to run through. I might try to do this one at some point in the future. Only change I might make, if I build it, is to add a jack to accept the plug from the power supply. It night have to be epoxied in, but wouldn't be that much harder. And shouldn't be as subject to wear and tear as where the wire now goes through. Nice showing how to do the strain relief and all, as well. Even heat-shrinking and soldering the connections. You didn't miss a thing! Thanks for the build! Great project!!!
Hello there, first of all great Video and cool DiY Project. For you and all in the Community a little Tipp for working with veneer. Give the wood a good sanding making as much contact with the glue as posible (using filler for voids would be se best), that will also avoid bubbles that could form with the wood soaking water from the air. to trim the edges you showed one of the most commen mistakes when you are new to working with veneer. Get a longer blade and place it on the wood to get a cut along the veneer and try not to fall into an angle, after that you can just give it a nice soft sanding with a high grid paper.(like a 220 paper) this will give it a soft rounded edge and blends it in. Thanks for the Video and i will keep watching you ideas come to life.
Montreal NightLife lol this probably took him a load of time maybe 4-8 hours. this dude is pulling in wayyyyy more than that per day with his skill set
I am today finishing this lamp (2 to be exact). It's my first woodworking project and it's fun to do. Thanks for giving me the idea. Simply having a wonderful Christmas time. Merry Christmas!
A couple of slats or "pegs" on each side of the power button would lock it in place when in the stand and make it more stable when on it's own. Just an idea I had when watching the overview. Pretty neat design.
Really great project. Thank you for telling us your mistakes. A lot of these woodworkers come off as gods to us newbies because everything they do is seemingly perfect. Hopefully I get around to building this!
Awesome mate, how strange I spend all day on site doing carpentry and then come home and watch it lol...videos like yours keep me interested in my craft thanks mate
I’m so happy your back up and running can’t wait to see what content you create next... have you done super sleek modern floating shelves ??? I would love to see that if you haven’t done that already . Thanks for sharing
Being watching your videos for sometime as I'm taking on woodworking as a hobby and I have to say "all good", genius ideas and deserve duplicating my way to not make a copy of your work, very nice, keep it up, you inspire me, thank you!
Hi there Glenn! It is good to see you up and creating again. It is funny that you said that making this lamp was "going out of your comfort zone". I would rather say that lamp didn't know YOU were coming after it. It was a real pleasure watching work. Also, how about instead of attaching one LED lamp on the top, how about making a crease inside the square, inserting a led strip and then covering up with some sort of semitransparent plastic, like the one you used when you built the wooden lamp with the cement base. Just an idea.
Thanks Jorge! Haha, It did cross my mind to recessed strips in the wood. for a cleaner look. It was something about these LEDs I liked. I'm sure I'll have more opportunities to do something like that.
I love the way you explain everything. It makes us feel that we can aspire to improving our skills, as you are obviously professionally competent, but encouraging to newcomers. You are a great role model!
Glenn, I HATE how you guys always make things look so easy! Like Tiger hitting a golf ball! LOL. But seriously, Glenn, you ROCK!! I truly appreciate your talent and willingness to share it with us lesser beings. Please keep up the GREAT work and PLEASE keep sharing. You’ve definitely earned a new subscriber! P.S. I apologize if I misspelled your name.
Really enjoyed this one glen, original and inventive - one tip with edge banding is to run the iron at a 45 on each edge, pushing down really hard, it ensures that there is no gap or seem at the edges :)
I’m so happy to get back in the shop! What should I post next? FAQ- Chest Vest goo.gl/qywmMK
DIY Creators make vase for flowers (im not god at english)
make an upgraded infinity mirror
upgrade it like do you want
Glenn make a pit bed. Or like a sunk in bed that's closed off on all sides
make a desk super nice and big of wood and hide leds.... but at your style, you know ;)
DIY Creators I would love another of the limited tools series (I think that’s the name I forgot)
Great video, I appreciate that you don't edit out your mistakes, in my opinion that is what separates the best makers from the rest. Keep it up!
Thank man, mistakes happens. I look at my videos as prototypes, I'm making these for the first time. I share the mistakes so no one makes the same one.
Mistakes are an important part of any creative process. If you can't embrace them, learn from them and improve, then, what the heck are you doing!
Agreed. If you don't show the mistakes, someone will make them. Thanks for another great project.
Brandon Sturms B
Brandon Sturms you had 99 likes I make that 100. Isn't that good.

Never ceases to amaze bro...glad you're back in action and Irma didn't keep you down for to long..it was a mad house down here in Miami.
Awesome work, Glenn! Good to see you back, man.
Thanks man, Thrilled to be back in the shop.

Very nice Glenn. My son and I always enjoy your projects. We both get inspired. He built a bed for college that was inspired by your platform bed.
Thank you, That is awesome to hear :)

Glad you’re safe and back fam. This project is amazing.
Thank you, Same here.
Is he in Houston or California
Glad you came up on my feed. Love how you incorporate simple solutions for people who don't have a shop full of expensive tools.

I agree, I really want to tackle more design like such. You did a great job with all your projects. I'm sure I will learn something from you.
Thanks! I've definitely learned a lot from you. I'm excited to see more projects from you where you don't worry about trying to make a build simple or inexpensive, and just focus on making the design as cool as possible.
Yes, I plan to do more of those. I'll mix it up to trying and balance the of the audience. Working a schedule, hopefully, that helps.
Yup, you've worked hard and have a well deserved following, so I think you are entitled to a few self-indulgent builds :)
Started this over the weekend. Have wanted to make LED lamps for myself but always get lost browsing catalogs as to what to get. Your materials list along with video instructions have finally gotten me over the edge. Thanks!
What talent and creativity. Fantastic your projects. Greetings from Spain!👍
Hi, my friend you also here, we are watching the same video 😁

As always, simplistically beautiful.
You always combine woodwork with electronics very well. You're really a good craftsman !
Happy to see you well and back in the shop. Love the work sir!
Happy to be back. Thank you :)
Hello. Can i ask you a question What is the name of the paper you put on the wood. Is how you fix it
Thinks
Looks very sleek and modern!
I also like the fact that you can use it with and without the base.
Thank you. The base is optional for this reason :)
I remember when you were just starting out, and then I knew you would become big :D. Happy to see the channel growing!
The clamp to support the piece when you were finishing up the cut, great idea. Thanks
Man video after video you are killing it!!!
Thanks, man :D i'm just trying to get better.
I like the projects but you have an honest and straightforward presentation that I really appreciate.
Thank you.
Thank you for another easy to understand project, once again your accent is most enjoyable ;-) cheers Barry (NZ)
Thank you. :D
I like the fact that you don't use all the fancy expensive tools and still make cool things!
I need to find a man like you! Amazing little thoughts that brought this project together.. New subscriber! Love from Sydney, Australia xo
Nice work. I appreciate details like shrink tubing and the knot in the wire.
Turned out great Glen, love the simplicity of the design.
Thanks Linn :)

Man you are fantastic..I love that project...thx gracias..

Glad your shop is back in working order. I like the lamp with the contrast of light and dark from the stand, looks nice all in all.
It'd be nice if you can integrate that led to be hidden within the wood. It'll give a sleek clean look.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, you are an real artist.
Big thanks from Africa Morrocco.
с такими инструментами сделать настолько неаккуратно нужно постараться
Меня больше удивляет, клеща у нас что то делают или это старая коряга, или ЛДСП в 16 мм, а у них часто толстые массивы дерева и красивые
It is a masterpiece every woodworking you created ... I'm always fascinated ..
you're a freakin genius!! you should have your own website for selling these at a reasonable. dont charge like 200$ for it lol
Montreal NightLife lol this probably took him a load of time maybe 4-8 hours. this dude is pulling in wayyyyy more than that per day with his skill set

I tend to like the base you made for the lamp.

You have it going... God has given you great talent... I very much enjoyed your video.
I am so glad to have found your channel. I'm just getting started and wow I have learned so much. You are an inspiration.
Nice project. Something someone would pay a lot for in one of those fancy boutique stores.
Thank you. Yes I can see that
