43:38 ‘Hindu Kush’ literally means killer of Hindus. It has synonymity to ‘khud kushi’. Khud means self, Kush means ‘to kill’.
I was about to provide more details but then my inherent bias would have come to fore.
I would suggest you do your research.

    • @ThePakistanExperience
      @ThePakistanExperience  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Etymology
      edit
Hindu Kush is generally translated as "Killer of Hindu"[24][25][26][27][28][29][30] or "Hindu-Killer" by most writers.[31][32][33][34][35] Boyle's Persian-English dictionary indicates that the Persian suffix -koš [koʃ] is the present stem of the verb 'to kill' (koštan کشتن).[36] According to linguist Francis Joseph Steingass, the suffix -kush means "a male; (imp. of kushtan in comp.) a killer, who kills, slays, murders, oppresses as azhdaha-kush ['dragon-slayer']."[37]
The term was earliest used by Ibn Battuta. According to him, Hindu Kush means Hindu Killer as slaves from the Indian subcontinent died in the harsh climatic conditions of the mountains while being taken from India to Turkestan.[38][27][39][40][a]
Several other theories have been propounded as to the origins of the name.[26] According to Nigel Allan, the term Hindu Kush has two alternate meanings i.e 'sparkling snows of India' and 'mountains of India', with Kush possibly being a soft variant of the Persian kuh ('mountain'). Allan states that Hindu Kush was the frontier boundary to Arab geographers.[41] Yet others suggest that the name may be derived from ancient Avestan, meaning 'water mountain'.[26]
According to Hobson-Jobson, a 19th-century British dictionary, Hindukush might be a corruption of the ancient Latin Indicus (Caucasus); the entry mentions the interpretation first given by Ibn Batuta as a popular theory already at that time, despite doubts cast upon

Funny hi rakhiyega aap podcasts ko....
BTW India me sabhi khush hain. Yes there are lots of problems also.
Minorities me sirf Muslims aate hai kya? India me almost sabhi religion ke people rehte hain.Aur koi bhi minority ko problem nahi hoti. There are frictions here and there among us , it does not mean we hate each other. Bhai itne saare log apne interest ke liye kaam karenge to clashes honge hi. We try to sort it out but kabhi kabhi baat aage nikal jaati hai jo hona nahi chahiye.
I'm against hate speech but it happens from both sides. I feel sorry for such hateful people. Marxist ideology ke base par bolte hai , just because Hindus are majority so koi bhi galat baat bolte hi media pe aa jata hai, yahi baat udhar se ho to chalta hai.
Civilians me authority ke liye khauf aur respect dono honi chahiye jo kaafi loose ho gya tha India me. Koi bhi idhar udhar ki hateful baatein karta to seedha jail me. Be it of any community.

I am baloch and its also sheer in my language. Balochi, persian, Dari or Pashto etc are another branch of indo-european languages called indo-iranian. A lot of Balochi words are similar to Sanskrit like pith for pitha, math for matha, brath for bratha, dotar for dotar/daughter, sogand for sogand, mah for chandrmah, sangath for friend, taap for heat-- like rohtaap for heat of the Sun or sunshine. I like these similarities. When I used to watch ramayan on indian tv I liked to listen the beauty of language.

Guest has grossly embellished his tale of Afghanistan, acting as though he was the only Pakistani at the airport or first Pakistani ever to visit since fall of Kabul. His account of the immigration process is entirely fabricated, the airport-to-parking distance, sheesa & dating, beard & shave entirely fabricated. He contrived laughter in his narrative, an attempt to inject humor, is painfully transparent. As Salman Rasheed once aptly remarked about Mustansar Hussain Tarar, he could be anything but a genuine travel writer or vlogger. In conclusion, his fabricated account of Afghanistan strongly suggests that his other stories of Kyrgyzstan and others are similarly exaggerated or entirely fabricated. Sab bakwas!

    2. yaar mere dost, there is a theme that is clouding a very large percentage of your videos. that is the hate you get. DUDE bro, you are undisputed "the john Stewart of india-pakistan" if not better. a really amazingly brilliant and empathetic mind. you think john Stewart doesn't get hate? Hasan Minhaj not getting hate? they all do, and i think this is the part of the game. i cant tell you how to deal with it, but it is a bit too repetitive... HOW about this - make a small ticker at the bottom of your vids, where you have a hate-meter.. where you quantify the hate you have gotten in the week... that way it is there to see for us...but you dont have to highlight and get interrupted.
    3. sigh. so much to say. stopping here.
    cheers from Montréal.

Suure when you talk in your drawing room with someone like that is fine. But it's a podcast. There is nothing wrong in cracking the occasional jokes, infact it lightens the mood. But when one gets the impression that you weren't too interested in what he was saying, rather to always find something to do juggat... a bit irritating as he had some interesting stuff to share..

Sure but he should also have the opportunity to show that... don't want to be too critical, but it felt you being a bit over.... Like you making multiple!! innuendos about his stay in Afghanistan. You made critical remarks about Anwar Maqsood, and his cringe jokes. Okay no one is above criticism. But you yourself also engage in that.. very inconsistent.

Always love your podcasts , your videos helped me understanding different opinions and politics
But Shehzad you are wrong those sexist comments on that girl it just disgust me as a girl
If a girl is being nice to a guy why is it so important for you boys to sexualize it , this is the biggest problem yaaar
It happens everywhere in our school colleges , work place whenever.
    You should not say it
    That's very problematic, regressive,
It make us feel like our gender being a female is a baggage we are carrying since birth since puberty
Ghalti insano se hi hoti ha aur yahan ap ghalt hn
Well, having said that i really admire your work, as a kid who always had interest in politics but in a typical middle class family there is no space for individuality and difference of opinion, and usually female 😅 doesn't take part in political debates , always felt misfit
You are the one who gave me the treasure, thanks ❤
